Two Weeks Prior
After the urgent matters that subsided at the hospital, Junko and himself spent the rest of the day together getting to know each other since they were going to be spending a lot of time together and working together so it seemed. Based on today's activities just showed how much not only himself but also his new Lt Junko both can handle being under pressure and a short time frame to obtain reports and information. Still aware of the emotions that were rushing through Junko's mind and body he kept a lot of questions hushed for the time. Was it the right time to ask these questions? Could they hold out longer? Was there something he could do to help ease the change of title ship? These were things that rushed through his head while walking with Junko, uncertain on if and when he should ask them... Or was this more a portion of things that will come with time?
Current Day
Just as Shusuke rushed into the hospital needing attention for his
"Broken Wrist" Mizu looked over at Junko just as she smacked his wrist and stated,
"I declare you fully healed." This was something that Mizu still couldn't fully understand how they could do with just a blink of an eye. Such technique and art was something that was more on the
"Rarity" side for the 4th Division members.
Just as he heard Junko push out the words
"Good Luck..." Mizu would offer a very familiar smile to Shusuke and bow in his presence as he saw him take his leave from Junkos office. Even though he wasn't directly in the office with them he was walking past from delivering supplies to each floor for the nurses, he overheard this conversation and decided to not be rude. Right before walking past the room he remembered a nurse advised that his Captain was looking for Junko and himself, so he rushed down to the lobby awaiting the arrival of both. Just as he turned to hear his Captain come in the lobby he felt a quick wisp of air rushing next to him. He looked around as he saw Junko just appear out of no where knowing she was the one who nearly bumped into him although he would've have cared. Looking up at attention he was paying attention to the words spoken from his Captain.
“Team 11 has finished setting up camp in the Rukongai. As planned, you'll join them just outside the North Gate to provide assistance to any of the wounded competitors... This, you already know."
Knowing that the Kenpachi games were about to begin, Mizu wasn't sure if he was going to fight in them but was hoping he was going to use his techniques for triage and healing purposes. Hearing these words come out of his Captains mouth had some sort of calmity to it... Eventhough, knowing that he may not be on the
"Battle Field" he was still going to be on a
"Healing Battle Field" Its been a basket of chaos over the past few weeks with mysterious Captian deaths to wounds galore he knew that this was only the beginning.
"I've been made aware of a coming excursion to the World of the Living... no doubt they'll request someone among our upper ranks to go with them given the supposed importance of this mission. Prepare for either one of you to answer this call while the other maintains authority of the camp. Whatever comes of it, just... Do your part... and I'll do mine.”
Just as his Captain would say this Mizu started to get a feeling that he knew something terrible was going to happen... He just wasn't sure what. This was something he couldn't let his mind over worry about, this was something more of a
"Put in the back of his mind and remember its there" sorta thing. Just as his brought his head back to attention to look at his Captain to respond he looked over just as Junko did to see blue-haired man rushing in with two shinigami accompany directly behind. Overhearing Junko speak,
"Captain, this is my part as well. Please allow us to attend to them so you are not late. I assure you Mizu-kun and I will both be at our stations before the games have started"
Mizu would push down his attire and look directly at both of them,
"Captain, helping heal unknown injuries is just as much as my part as it is both of yours, We will do our best here to figure this out quickly and get to our stations at the games. You've down your part now so let us do ours together. We will see you at the finish line as the winner of the Kenpachi games! Do 4th proud Sir! We both believe in you."
Hoping that he didn't say to much to his Captain or in any manner that he felt or seemed disrespectful. Mizu felt a tug at his elbow as he looked over as Junko reached out and pulled him away as they both hurried off into the distant hallway to the Trauma bays to continue their work before the games.
As both Junko and himself rushed into the Trauma bay he saw both gurneys huddle around each other as nurses surrounded both sides. There was a strange feeling in this room and just the day in general..
"Why are there so many injuries and mysterious deaths and such happened before the most anticipated games?" Mizu thought as he felt the strength of Junkos reiatsu rush through the room. He could sense this was going to be something normal for him going forward working close with Junko. With both patients under sedation, he knew they both didn't have much time to work on the patients before they'd wake up. Still under the shock of how two Shinigamis lost arms at the same time was something puzzling, but never the less he knew he could reattach them quickly without a doubt.
Just as Junko released the protection barrier of both arms he noticed the nurses push our the painkilling Kido they were specialized in. Focusing their reiatsu on the nerve receptors through the crude stubs left of their arms. At the same time, another nurse would focus on halting the flow of blood of both the arms and near the shoulders. Once finished with the painkiller in case Junko's reiastu was fought against, the first would help the other with keeping the two men from bleeding out. With both of them looking at one arm each it was best to begin immediately. Placing the detached arms against the place it was cut, Junko and Mizu would begin with their own Kido.
"Chiyudou number forty-eight: Fuka." He would repeat just as Junko was speaking it aloud for him to hear!
Focusing his reiatsu on the bone first, a small layer mixed with the fellow Shinigami’s own to bind it back together. Outward, to the tendons. Veins. Muscles. Finally the skin. focusing on the tethers he created between them, encouraging each layer to bind themselves back together. Once finished the process would repeat again for the opposite arm. Without having to concern themselves with painkillers or barriers the nurses were able to supplement reiatsu to the patients. Finally able to relieve his hold and strength. Just as he finished this he noticed Junko stepping over to examine his work.
"Good job, Mizu-kun, we're needed at our assignments. Yui-chan has done this before, please alert her if any changes occur in either of the patients."
Just as Mizu had time to step back and collect what he just did he felt once again Junko pull on his arm and out of the Trauma Bay. As they both rushed out of the hospital and down towards the gates they quickly made haste into the Rukongai and into the medical tent where they will be stationed for the games. Just as he had time to find a chair and sit down in it he heard Junko say
"Are you excited yet?" Knowing there are so many unknown possibilities he wasn't entirely sure how to respond.
"Uhhh... Honestly, I am extremely excited! But I'm also very concerned for the outcomes and what is about to unfold for us. I just hope our Captain will be okay." He said while holding up his head with his fist. He knew there was something in the air that feels
"Off" but he can't entirely pinpoint it. Were the patients he just helped going to make a full recovery? Why were there so many mysterious injuries and a death before the games? Is his Captain going to be okay? Although, he knew these things were future outcomes but current concerns all he could do is make sure he and Junko work hard and quickly together for anything that comes their way during the games.
