Game. Set. Match. That was something Shirogane had been hoping when he put the entire plan into motion, and it would have come to an end. It was a definitive plan, one that's well constructed. Upon unleashing the double kido that held enough power to take the proctor out. Enough energy to devastate the space in the confines of the barrier. It would seem as he feared. Despite the obscurity of his vision due to the debris of dust that surrounded the area. Many other factors that aid Shirogane to know if the battle has won. Unfortunately, the awareness that was an ability that never goes away, never been able to turn on and off like a light switch. It was apart of him like everything else. Both eyes closed shut. And despite what he wished, given all of the efforts of wanting to end it his way. His senses proven that he still breathes. The energy he unleashed didn't go away either, but anyone without this gift easily could be deceived by Maho's presence. Not Shirogane, with the best efforts he manages to remain unharmed? It did more than upset Shirogane that this shinigami didn't go down, but at the same time, he expected as much, calculated even. What he analyzed before came to be, Maho shielded himself, but he did more than that. Something Kuchiki never expected to occur or didn't seem to know anything of it. All of that energy gone. But where? The drastic increase of spiritual power has resided in Maho all of a sudden.
"Bankai?"
Could it be as Shirogane predicted? Did the Captain relyed on Bankai? Some indications prove this was the case, Maho went Bankai to protect himself from the blast. It didn't take long after for a menacing laughter ensued, upon layers of the noise he didn't need his senses to hear this laughter. Was it a sign of him losing his mind? Or was it because he is laughing because he manage to live? Shirogane could see his movements where he shouted.
"Here! Have it back!"
The motion of his arm had come downwards from over his head with force. But nothing picked up on his actions from below except the fact he felt an enormous, overwhelming power above him. There was no in point in looking, and he could feel its presence just cascading over him like an overpowering entity that was staring down at his small body. This feeling could inevitably cause a complete annihilation of the entire area. Sure enough, this was an act of desperation. A move only those who were fed up would pull as their last attempt. At the end of this, Kuchiki would have to commend the Captain for such a display. A compliment he doesn't pass around too often. That is, if he survives. Throughout his life, he persisted, strived for it. He didn't know what to expect, but he wasn't going down alone. He had only one more move to make, and that was performing Idō shifuto (移動シフト; Movement Shift) one last time.
Shirogane wasn't that type to pull a move such as what he was about to do. He could easily use this technique to escape despite the distance of "The End", but this would ensure that if he goes down a Kuchiki, he has taken someone else with him. And performing this last technique, he would shift to the location Captain Maho but appearing directly behind where he would be. Without any real indication, physically nor sound would betray his arrival only that his spiritual signature was there behind him. Before Maho decides to do anything whether he moved already or remain in place where the destruction awaits. Shiro would be there clinging to his back. Arms wrapped around the torso. Surely this was rather embarrassing enough as is. A royal using a low life as a shield? He gave up his pride to survive, no matter how degrading it may be while using the mirror that teleported him within that given location. But to make sure whatever he would end up that the same mirror would provide a reinforced barrier for protection. Would it be enough to hold up? Or did it break? The entire terrain shook with ferocity as a response to the Captain's action. If they were away from the blast, Shirogane would have only the left arm exposed with red substance flowing down the arm. This wound would indicate he took a hit somehow, the leg on the same side would also be torn and exposed. Little would he know that the technique of Maho would follow him to finish the job?
Both eyes fixated on the damage ahead. Where once it deemed safe from this catastrophic demise Shirogane would let go of the Captain. It would seem they both may be able to walk away from this battle with their life. This battle would be over. Shirogane would be spent after his performance but not exhausted. Hypothetically there's a chance neither of them made it out of the range of Maho's wrath. If that was the case, they both could be dead, leaving them both severely disabled beyond saving. Maybe only one of them surviving leaving the victor to stand tall. Either way, in the end for Kuchiki it has never been so much about winning nor losing this battle. Pride. Pride was everything to him, and his pride was not about proving to be a Captain for the Gotei 13. His pride was showing the clan he had what it takes to carry on the name as a TRUE Kuchiki. Deep down, there was nothing better than to display the skills that instilled in him at a young age. Paving the way of the Kuchiki clan to be even more significant and this was just one step closer to doing that. Was self-sacrificing worth it? Would it amount to anything? No. But he would have died fighting a third rate he could respect, despite the difference in status. The Captain has shown him much more than what he could ever expect from filth like him. And for that, he would respect him, even until death.

With the battle coming to a close, The ecliptic fist would continue on its path, Maho simply observed his opponents' spiritual energy, keeping as best a visual as he could, though not relying on it. When his arms came to form around his body, he would expand it to cover the entirety of himself, so that when Shirogane clung to his back he would become slightly encased in the metal, enough to 'protect' a good portion of his vitals, though his arm and leg would be left to fend for themselves. One could not say that he expected Shirogane to close the distance, no but he was swift enough to act in some manner before his attempt came to full fruition. With a grin, he could hear Maho's voice speak out, still partially laughing
"just kidding!"
The reiatsu that would have fired did not, instead the fist warped directly above them both, and crashed down upon them. being that Maho was covered in his own weapon, it simply molded around him, coagulating with its counterpart and minimizing any impact, the vibrations rippling through the metallic jello-like substance and dissipating. The impact, however, was still enough to destroy much of the ground around them both, though when it made contact it came shattering through the mirrior he had attempted to use, nullifying just a bit more of the impact in the process. As it came crashing into the earth beneath them, it oozed outward, like mud, caking everything in a black metal tar that trapped anything within. This included Shirogane who would be encased in metal entirely, stuck in between. When the dust cleared, Maho allowed himself to become free from his bonds, then manipulated the metal so that it would revealed the suicidal royal from the neck up. He peered down at him and smiled at his attempt, it showed some heart putting his life at risk in order to catch Maho with his own technique, however it wouldn't be enough to truly hurt him this time. His bright teeth shown through at his eyes, still hidden closed happily.
"Gahahahaha! Bruh you crazy! AHAHHA!"
As the test concluded, he kept laughing having been amused in the end. Later on, the captains would deliberate on what they had found, and give him his results in time. He hadn't drawn out Maho's Bankai, but he did make him use his Shikai at its strongest. That surely counted for something? right? His arm and leg would still be damaged, but otherwise, most of his body was relatively unscathed.

It has come to an end as Shirogane suspected where he pulled off a final move of desperation to survive the attack. An attack that had conjured by the hands of the Captain who attempted to end everything. Risky? Yes. Shirogane put his life in the hands of the proctor like a child to a parent. This action, in particular, doesn't sit well with Shirogane, to begin within the first place. A laughable effort that would haunt him by his people that won't overlook how he went out. Due to his actions, it would appear nothing happen, but quite the opposite of what had waited before him. Instead of destruction, he felt this soft substance structure around his frame. Shirogane buried within the Captain's Shikai to where it would soon uncover being only neck high. All he saw was that smug look.
"Gahahahaha! Bruh you crazy! AHAHHA!"
Shirogane didn't respond to such foolery but turned his head away. The test had already concluded. Though in the back of his mind, he wondered if that power was indeed Bankai? He couldn't help but believe that he may have underestimated this Captain.

The doors of the Senkaimon silently slid open as Yamato and Captain Higen Kagayari exited to view the craggy landscape that was the Valley of Screams. If one were to look at Yamato one would be forgiven thinking he was a plague doctor straight out of the Middle Ages even though his cloak was white and not black.

While he was a doctor among other things this suit served a purpose, to house and contain his poisonous spirit energy to prevent it from from others. As such the material used for the suit was incredibly sturdy capable of withstanding a great deal of punishment since he couldn’t fight together with anyone unless he wore the suit less he kill his allies with his poisonous spirit energy. If one would be able to see his form beneath the suit they would see that his entire body was scaled, his eyes were slitted like a snakes, a slightly elongated and he had a ten foot long tail that was currently tucked underneath the coat and coiled around his waist and legs in several loops.
Before he faced off against Captain Higen he did a mental tally of what was on his person. His Absolute Stabilizers were in his ear and his Absolute Filters were already in his eyes, his bone needles were filled with several beneficial poisons, his berserker poison, his cleansing poison and his clarity poison, his poison energy balls and disks were fully charged with twenty of each with a handheld launcher for them he made sure to take with him to this exam and his lightning detergents and preventers. While he didn’t exactly know what Captain Higen was capable he had heard rumors that he excelled in both attack and defense so Yamato brought all his tools to the test, it always pays to be prepared.
Walking ten meters away from Captain Higen Yamato turned back around and looked at Captain Higen sizing him up. Captain Higen was a mountain of a man easily towering over Yamato at six feet nine inches to Yamato’s six feet two inches and his body wouldn’t have been out of place standing next to a sculpture of Hercules. After taking a deep breath he asked Captain Higen, “So Captain Higen, if I what I’ve been told is true during this Captain Test I’m supposed to come at you with everything I’ve got correct? Nothing is off limits correct?”
