Himari works under the watchful gazes of both Yogen and Shinotori, undoubtedly adding even more pressure to an already stressful task laid out for her. As she works, the room grows figuratively crowded as yet another body fills its space. To the Horror of Himari, and the annoyance of Yogen it is Ochitsuki who joins them. The psychopath’s eyes fall on Himari, his steps lightly carrying him forward only stopping once he nears Yogen.
”The Captain has returned to the Seireitei, currently at First with some prisoners. I didn’t probe on who the prisoners are though. Just stopped by to give that bit of info because if he is back you know what that means.”
’Fuck’
The news of the Captain’s return now adds a sense of pressure onto the agent. If the Captain was back, how long until he returned to check on the progress of the skittish girl before them? Just what were his expectations, and how far did he expect them to bring her in his short absence? The wheels turn in his head, his mind racing from one thought to the next as a sense of urgency stirs his imagination.
”A progress report. Tell me how she has progressed.”
’Fuuuuck’
It was just as he was already thinking. Some manner of report would be required regarding the progress of the girl. Sure she was slowly getting the hang of some of what he was teaching her..the problem was just that though..it was slow progress. Wait, were they even making progress? Sure she was doing what she was told, albeit a tad clumsy in her journey...but was she actually retaining any of this? The Oda’s next words bring the agent out of his stress induced stupor, nearly shocking him. When Himari retorts, Yogen shoots a sharp glance her way. This wasn’t the time for her stubbornness or bravado.
”Any failings or shortcomings I will take the blame for should the Captain not be pleased. This is my project after all.”
Yogen was honestly...surprised. He stared at Ochitsuki suspiciously, it was unlike him to be so..so charitable? Potentially sacrificing himself to the Captain’s wrath should there be any displeasure in their report regarding Himari. There was a catch, there had to be.
”During your absence, she’s somewhat familiarized herself with the sensitive areas on the body, arteries, pressure points..you know the spiel. She’s somewhat got the hang of targeting some of these areas, right now we’re in the middle of honing and sharpening her hand in targeting and striking those areas. Y’know..help her muscle memory in cutting the spots most likely to kill someone. The progress is..steady?”
He is hesitant to speak, the end of the report reflecting his uncertainty, the wavering in his confidence on if it was enough. He glances towards Himari, wondering if she understood the situation. Their lives hung on the balance of her progress and show of potential. It wasn’t just her own life on the line...it was all of theirs. He half listens when the Oda addresses the idle Hitsugaya, this was good. Putting the kid to work would give him something to do, and keep him out of their hair. That’s what he thought, until Himari spoke for the second time since Ochitsuki’s return.
” Why don’t we all tag along? I’d like to see what the disturbance is? Maybe we could help?”
Yogen’s head snaps her way. He approaches her in a rush, grabbing her right shoulder, his free hand lifting a finger towards her.
”NO! You, need to get back to work, and work faster. Didn’t you hear what he just said? The. Captain. Is. BACK. That means he’s going to want to not only hear a report, but see and assess your progress for himself.”
He attempts to put things into perspective for the silly girl. This wasn’t the time for adventuring or sating her curiosity. Yogen had no desire to die so soon, so he’d hammer every bit of knowledge and skill into her that he could in the short remaining time they had.
”Ochitsuki can handle whatever disturbance is going on. Right now, you lack the skill and ability to be anything more than a liability. Focus on what it is you should be doing..for BOTH our sakes.”
He squeezes her shoulder lightly, patting it before releasing her with a heavy breath. He turns away from her, his hands coursing through his hair as he walks back to the wall. He slowly lifts his mask to cover the lower portion of his face once more, a mask to hide the fear that was coming.

”NO! You need to get back to work, and work faster. Didn’t you hear what he just said? The. Captain. Is. BACK. That means he’s going to want to not only hear a report, but see and assess your progress for himself.”
That was what she was met with soon after. She couldn’t even move to head towards the door. Yogen had appeared so fast before her, grabbing her right shoulder. His finger pointing towards her.
”Ochitsuki can handle whatever disturbance is going on. Right now, you lack the skill and ability to be anything more than a liability. Focus on what it is you should be doing..for BOTH our sakes.”
And with that she glared. She didn’t understand what the difference was from learning out there then in here. Whatever the disturbance was couldn’t be that bad, right. Plus it would have been cool to see some action on Ochitsuki’s part. Maybe learn a thing or two on a possibly moving target. Plus, even though she thought Ochitsuki was insane, he was pretty damn talented.
But she couldn’t even go out there.
A liability. Now that angered her. She was trying her very best. And she, of course, had certain skills. Yes, probably not second division set skills but she had them. She knew her relationship with her Zanpaktuo wasn’t what it should be. She lacked in many things. But she had worked hard as well. Even if it was on Kido. She was proud of being a master of the dark arts. Something a lot of people thought she couldn’t do.
But the Captain is back. And she was going to have to prove something. She hasn’t even been here long? How fast was she supposed to even move? She thought she was doing well.
But apparently, she wasn’t.

For the most part she had gone unnoticed, by Shinotori and Ochitsuki. She didn’t miss this opportunity either as she began supress both her reiryoku and reiatsu, before trailing behind the duo. She had kept enough of distance that if one where to look back they wouldn’t see her, while also keeping to darker shadows of the hallways; She wanted to keep her distance from Ochitsuki, but she also served as a hidden back up, in case things went south.
“The maggots nest seems to get gloomier and gloomier the deeper we go.”
Furia shifted her eyes side to side, getting quick glances of the area. Both of them had little to no memories of the maggot’s nest, other than a few visits here and there but none that were note worthy. Though it might soon change as she was nearing the group, her breathing became slower and her steps silent, again her reiatsu was lowered, before she would leap up near the ceiling creating reshi platforms beneath her feet to observe.
“You wanna aim for the Third Seat? Just need you to be the Warden long enough to sort out this problem after that you can step down. I need a clear path to the captain at all times”
“Clear path? Does he want to fight the captain?”
“He probably doesn’t want anyone to stop him from trying to kill the captain.”

“Unless you have a way of getting in there now. Without my Zanpakuto I cannot destroy the chains, let alone the door. Decisions, decisions. Tick…. Tok.””
“ I think I’ll pass on becoming a seated officer for now I am very content with my position. As for this door I think we should return to your quarters to retrieve your zanpakuto before we do any further investigation, you wouldn’t want to be unprepared for whatever lies beyond. It would be foolish to do so, besides if this area is restricted we would have to make this plan be a swift one. No one needs to know about our involvement until we can know for sure what we are doing is right.”

Furia’s eyebrow raised at the suggestion that a zanpakutō should be brought into the maggots nest; Such a thing could get a man killed before even entering this hell hole. She could only shake her head before leaning back.
“Now who could this threat be?”
“A danger to the rest if they’re locked up like this.”

Ochitsuki turns to look at Hitsugaya and proceeds to tilt his head to the side. Upon doing so he catches a glimpse of Furia approaching and standing in silence. Still crouched down he starts to respond to the young man.
”My quarters? No, my Zanpakuto is with guards outside of the Nest as it should be. Did you lot… Forget that protocol?”
His hostility is evident now as he rises from his crouched position to a standing one as he eyes Shinotori and Furia. He straightens his head as he steps closer to Shinotori, invading his personal space, giving him quite the strange grin.

”The little details of our job are sometimes easily forgotten. Try your best not to forget again, yeah? Let’s head back to the surface, there is nothing more we can do here.”
He eventually strides past him and stops beside Furia, looking down at her in a literal sense, that same sickening grin on his face. Up until today Furia has never been a thorn in his side, they have coexisted just fine but it appears something has sparked a change, a welcoming one at that.
”Everytime I have turned around today I see you, like a shadow I just can't get rid of. I just hope you don't become too much of a nuisance. I’d hate to kill you because of it.”
Ochitsuki now starts to leave the bowels of the Maggots Nest, returning to the surface level where Himari and Yogen currently are. He looks in the girls direction and thinks to himself
”Steady progress.”
Would that be enough? Given the time they’ve had, how far did the Captain expect her to progress? A master assassin is not made in a single day, let alone a few hours. More-so an assassin cannot be made in that time. He stands at a distance with his arms crossed, watching her and thinking. This man without fear can only think logically, quantifying her progress and wondering if it is enough to keep him alive.
