During the Games

Sanyu had spent a lot of time watching the fight between his Aunty-Moni, Hiroka, and Yasu, and was excited about her going to the next round. To be honest he'd been sitting in the garden center of Division seven barracks for a while watching it on his DeishinrikiX. His smile and tail wagging had said a lot about how much inspiration Omoni's fight had given the young Komamura, as he watched, and cheered her on inspiration to enhance his own Zanjutsu and Hakuda.

When the first Round finished

Sanyu had left the confines of the 7th division barracks on his own to find himself walking down Seireitei streets to get to 3rd Division barracks. As the Komamura made it to 3rd's gate, he put his phone away and looked up seeing White haired Koyo Koetsuji, but the wolf-man did not know who he was, or what he was doing here. He probably had the same thought Sanyu had, probably was inspired by the Kenpachi games to Enhance his fighting techniques as well.

At first the Komamura kept his distance, seeing as his appearance was highly rare and unusual for most if not all Shinigami that weren't used to it or did not know Saijin or Daiki. He really didn't want to scare the young Shinigami ahead of him with his outward appearance and have him run away, scaring Him and possibly the entire 3rd Division away from him. He stood there next to the boy and waited patiently for someone to Arrive at the gate to let him in as well. Hopefully there wasn't anyone here that didn't know About the curse of the Komamura clan, and looked upon Sanyu in Disgust.

The feeling of hairs standing upon his neck, the tell-tale signs. Someone was in his blindspot. Koyo, the child, may have allowed this to happen, but in this form. He didn't like the feeling as it caused a grimace across his face. Slowly his head turned to look back at the person. The figure was shocking, to be sure. Fur covered the constitution instead of a human head. It appeared to be canine in the build; it was a practical form. Excellent for aggressive measures, but his lips came to a smile. Though it became a sadder one for a moment. Recognition that those weren't the only essential things.

He glanced at his hands before shaking his own head. Slowly he turned on his heel, heading towards the figure. It didn't matter the appearance, however practical. Nor did the physical shape of his matter to him. Koyo had encountered true evil when he was younger. Beasts took many forms; most were human. Judging people wasn't a condition he was willing to accept just yet. Neither personality within the boy would allow it. The childish one or the pragmatic. They both knew what evil was like. It was why they went to the academy. To placate the woman who tortured them. No matter how either looked at the mirror, it was a plane of glass.

"Greetings, I am Koyo Koetsuji..I just recently graduated from this establishment. "

Perhaps discussing the problem underlines his concerns or Koyo's in general. The academy teachers weren't the most understanding of people. The Zanpakuto was intense but was the fighting style stable. Maybe it was wrong to open up to a stranger about this matter. But from a practicality standpoint, it worked for him. Because who would cause less trouble? A member of Squad 10 had already proven uninterested in alleviating the childish side's request.

He held his hand out, offering a typical gesture of shaking hands. He didn't know how this would come across. "I'll be honest, I've returned after witnessing the might of Captain Hageshi; her performance raised doubts in my abilities to perform as a fourth seat. "

Sanyu looked up at the tall academy walls silently, waiting for the 3rd division barracks to open beside this, Koyo fellow. He looked down silently hearing the boy say he was a recent graduate… well what luck, it hadn’t been too long since captain Asakura himself plucked Sanyu from the Academy to be in 7th division because of his uncanny tracking ability and his Zanpakuto’s powers. Sanyu unfolded his large canine hands and kept his claws retracted to shake the boy’s hand. Sanyu was several feet taller and covered completely in fur, but he was a little surprised he didn’t seem intimidated by the sheer fact he was a beast, and much bigger than him.

”Sanyu, Sanyu Komamura. Pleasure to meet you, Koetsuji-san.”

After the firm, yet softened handshake the Komamura rises back to his normal height and looks out at the gates, listening to the young man talk about what inspired him to come back to the gates and try and get better through training and hard work. Sanyu blinked, and looked back at him.

“oh, you liked aunty-moni’s fight too? I visit her in 11th Division sometimes, we go fishing and she taught me how to swim! She was there when I caught my first fish too, when I was just a small pup, so of course naturally she inspires me to get stronger too, every day. She’ll be the next Kenpachi, I believe in her… but she’s got some fierce competition too… like Captain Oda… and the ghost himself, Kyomu… all the captains are so cool… just like my great great grandpa.”

He said, looking back at Koyo, before looking back out. Wow, someone else was inspired by Omoni too? Sanyu felt a kind of kinship with Koyo already as a result. Did this mean he was interested in Zanjutsu and Hakuda like Sanyu was? He’d wait patiently at the gate with Koyo, a little less nervous now that Koyo seemed fine with his appearance.

Inspiration, was that the correct terminology in this case? Koyo stopped and looked down at his body. He wasn't strong and didn't have the physical power Captain Hageshi could command. He couldn't truthfully fight like any of the Captains. It was what brought this unnerving sensation to the youth. He was the Fourth Seat of Squad 10, but he didn't feel up to the task. He shook his head left to right, looking back upon the academy grounds.

"I don't have the physical strength required for my Zanjutsu or Hakuda to measure up to those people." He said, finding no point in hiding the feelings of insignificance that his other persona felt. His punches didn't pack a punch; his blade wouldn't be snapping swords. He could not simply replicate or even come close to it. He envied the Komamura because he had power and size. Koyo had none of these things; his skills were unpolished.

"Komamura-san, do you think someone of my size can become good at Zanjutsu?" He was only five feet, three inches tall. And his weight, even dripping wet, was only one hundred and twenty-three. It wasn't surprising the other personality had been timid. It was a practical thing when gauging one's size. Komamura-san was a giant next to him.

He took the tentative step to enter the barracks finally. He didn't have a solution to this condition. Maybe Komamura-san had an idea. He seemed wise and aware of this world. Koyo only knew what he was taught in the academy. His level of skills was passable, but by no means did they fit the Fourth Seat. Not of Squad Ten, whatever Shizuka-san had planned was outside his capabilities.

He could only wait for the more giant man to answer his question.

The Komamura was having a hard time understanding Koyo, especially since the boy had believed, according to Sanyu, he didn’t know any good Zanjutsu techniques because of his size. Sanyu found that reasoning just a little bit silly himself, mostly because looking back there have been many shinigami smaller than Koyo who have all played an excellent part of the Seireitei’s history.

“I Don’t think size really has anything to do with whether or not you’re good at zanjutsu or not. I mean, look at Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya, for example, he fought alongside my great great grandfather, he was about the same height as you, I think…”

Sanyu Shrugs, and follows young Koyo while continuing to speak to him.

“I don’t think we have to measure up to those people, but they do set the bar really high for the rest of us, and for good reason, any of the students here… or both of us too, for that matter, could die at any moment, be it here, during an invasion, or out there, in the world of the living… even our own allies could kill us, you never know what to expect, so it’s better to be prepared for the unexpected… set the bar higher for yourself and work hard each and every day to achieve it. Don’t… limit yourself, Koyo.”
