"I... just tried to mitigate the damage the best I could... If I, uhh... took any of his hits directly, I'd be in much worse shape..." Tenzen humbly answers.
"Mmm, yes you would," the young doctor adds, his head still buried in his clipboard as he scribbles more notes. His incessant pen scratching continues for a few more moments before a small grouping of Kido Corps' members now make their way towards the golden-haired duo. For once, his head raises from his notes and as captain, takes it upon himself to address the all-too-familiar organization.
'Hmm? What is this all about?" the young captain questions, expecting an answer to emerge from someone in the crowd. Once a member of the Kido Corps and a distinguished individual in the Fifth Division, their customs and what they considered normal were no secret to Yū– surely, they had an important matter to discuss with the former member, one they could call a colleague. However, without even going as far as acknowledging the youngling, a masked individual steps out and begins her address.
"I, uhh... think I'll just leave–" Tenzen struggles to declare, before being cut off.
"Former Third Seat Tenzen Oda," a woman's voice calls out coldly, simultaneously drawing Tenzen's attention as well as outright embarrassing the young Captain. Instantly, his eyes widen, cheeks stained red, and chills run down his entire body. The clipboard he once loosely held is now held tight against his chest by both his arms, now keeping himself secure in his own embrace to calm his nerves. Rightfully so, the priestess pays no mind to Yū's sudden realization of his own insignificance in regards to this specific matter.
"The Kido Corps have received word of your test. I bring you this personally, as a sign of respect... Captain,” she announces, kneeling down to present the Oda with a fresh haori and a blue robe– one fit for a commander. ”Captain Tenzen Oda, of Fifth Division. We High Priestesses recognize you as the sole Chief of our Kido Corps, in so doing, we bow to your authority and command, and follow you willingly into the boundaries of what is known.” Suddenly, the flush of red that once colored his face seeps away, his expression now displaying both joy and utter shock. With a smile, Yū turns to face the newly appointed Captain Oda…
”Oh, congratulations, fellow Captain! Looks like wha–AUGH!” Yū begins cheerfully, before being forcefully set aside by the Kido Corps members that now formed a tight huddle around Tenzen and the priestess. ”Hey!” he exclaims at one of the veiled Shinigami and expectedly so, is met with no answer. Not one for conflict especially among fellow Shinigami, and especially not in his place of work, the young captain holds his tongue, now patiently waiting in the corner of the lobby for their improperly timed emergency meeting. Minutes go by before the huddle suddenly breaks, Tenzen now draped in his haori and robe and stood by the exit. Still not finished with his examination of the new Captain, Yū parts his lips to speak, but not before Tenzen addresses him first.
"Captain Nakamoto! Thank you for your care and hospitality! I look forward to working with you more in the future!" he shouts, flashing an optimistic grin that catches the young captain by surprise before disappearing into the blinding sun.
‘Such optimism… I hope you never lose it, Captain Oda...,” he whispers in a hush to his lonesome. Just as he is about to find his way back to his office, his attention is instead instantly pulled elsewhere.
“Captain!” a nurse calls out from behind. Turning to face her with eyebrows raised, he inquires…
“Have the morning routines gone alright?”
“Yes, captain, they’ve just been completed. However, two shinigami from the 13th Division have just been admitted… brought here unconscious. They both show signs of brain activity and we have tried our best to awaken them, but… they’re too far gone,” she informs, desperation noticeable with every word. As usual, the captain understands he will be put to the test as per usual. However, this is far from the unordinary.
“Any other surface injuries? Broken bones? Torn muscles?
“All already taken care of, Captain,”
she answers, now twiddling her fingers as every empty second that passes could spell trouble for the immobile pair. Confidently, he responds.
“Bring me to them.”

A blonde-haired boy and a blue-haired female lay side by side on their beds respectively, both void of any consciousness or awareness save for what occurs in each of their minds. Their bodies were littered with injuries; it was clear whatever training they had undergone, they would without doubt need more. In between the two beds, Yū stands above them, his scrunched face observing the duo in their placid state. The nurse from before hovers behind him, curious to see what her superior will do to remedy this otherwise dire situation.
After a few more seconds of scrutinizing, the young captain’s elegant hands emerge from the folds of his haori, aiming to rest on their foreheads. An otherworldly light faintly escapes from both his palms, now illuminating Katsuo and Oyama’s faces in a pale shade of mint. Yū’s eyes close as his begins searching for his answer, his passive talent now kicking in to aid him.
Yū now finds himself in the dark, surrounded by nothing, accompanied by no one, suspended in this void. Unknown voices call out, not to him, but addressed to someone else.
“That was certainly wonderful! You gotta let me take control, once more” a demonic voice shrieks, startling the doctor. Still, he remains tuned in. There must be more to discover in the void…
“How could you! How could you be defeated by Arashi so easily! Were you even trying?" another voice chastises.
‘Arashi? That name sounds familiar...’ Yū reflects. Still, he pushes on.
“We have to kill Arashi! He took out his frustration on both us and Katsuo!” the voice demands of whoever she… or it is speaking to.
"You think you are still worthy to wield me?!" this voice interrogates, clearly taking personal offense to what was said to him… or it previously.
‘Wield? Is this someone’s… zanpakutō?’ Yū calculates. Before he can analyze further, the voice from before howls once more...
“But it was so much fun!! OH THE JOY OF HAVING CONTROL AGAIN!”
“Get up, Katsuo Toshiyuki Oda! it's time for more of our own training." this one demands and then… silence. This time, Yū is truly alone, now filled only with Oyama and Katsuo’s emotions. Disappointed in themselves, but now filled with a new resolve to get better, to show improvement.
They would never accomplish this… at least, without waking up.
Yū’s eyes open, his palms still glowing and placed on their foreheads. He draws in a deep breath, the nurse that once hovered behind him, now practically on him as her body fills with anticipation. A surge of reiryoku shoots through his hands, channeling itself into the duo in a forceful attempt to retrieve them from their inner world. Maybe later, the two could reforge the special and important connection between their zanpakutō and themselves, but for now, the Captain would need them up and alert.
At once, Katsuo and Oyama would be jolted awake, first greeted by the bright sunshine that pierced through the windows as well as the equally bright smile plastered on Yū’s face.
“Morning!” the captain cheerily blurts.

“You are right, about his range, however you should have closed the distance as soon as the fight started, and not waste your time on such a fruitless Kido. A scoff came from Furia, as her hands clenched onto arm rests further breaking the wood that was on there. Her head twisted side to side to exam the room they were in, a stark contrast on how the two shared the body. On oyama’s side it was light clean and proper, her hair fully braided, her clothing well pressed and clean; along with the glowing blue eyes, in fact her first time seeing them glow. Where as Furia’s side was dark, A mess due to decay, her clothing wrinkled and stained with what looks like years of blood and dirt, her hair loosened and split apart, her eyes though still glowed a the blood red.
The tension was thick enough to cut, She was ready to lunge herself at Oyama but she didn’t knowing the fact that if she did so now she would most likely lose, both knew that the one to make the first move in this place was the one to lose.
Snap_pOMg2urwpv1167460685.png

“And you think I knew what his abilities do?!?!? We’ve only gotten out the acadmy that year, and haven’t been given anything, I only did what I thought was right! Had I known that he preferred long range I would be using another kido! her emotions were starting to get a little unbalanced, and this place wasn’t the time nor place to do so. Though something would happen an outside interference would pour its Reiatsu into their body, This imbalance would push into Furia’s favor as Oyama’s emotions were off, it allowed Furia ascend upwards, as she kept her calm. To which Oyama tried to leap towards and grab onto Furia’s legs but ultimately failed as it seemed gravity worked against her here.
Freedom at last! At first she could only see darkness as her eye lids were closed, but that wasn’t her concern she felt something, pain!?!?! It was something to experience, but it was a joyus occasion, the warmth from the sun on her skin felt great as well. So this is what it was like to feel, once her eyes opened up she would be greeted by so far so friendly fourth division captain himself, Yū Nakamoto. He seemed rather young looking but then again She herself was younger than most Shinigami right now. To Captain Nakamoto, view he would notice that Oyama’s had opened up as blood red and not the usual blue, as indicated on the health report, however they would be flickering, for a few seconds, before finally setting in the blood red.
“Good morning to you too Captain Nakamoto!” a smile was across her face, and her attituded seemed a little more cheerful, despite feeling the pain. In fact she was over joyed in knowing she could finally feel things, and have control; though she had to test this for a moment, as her fingers began to move, each one would move to touch and press against her thumb by the second, she could feel that as well. Joyus day, but now she had to be careful, for the Captain had the ability to lock her away and allow Oyama to gain control once more.
Once she was statisfied with this she had turned her head around to look around at her surroundings, and the only four people occupied the room currently, the Captain and the nurse, then herself and Katsuo. Machines advanced enough to detect brain wave activity, in which Oyama’s seemed to be a bit off, if only because Oyama wasn’t the one in control.
Her head then turned back to Captain Nakamoto and with a smile she would speak once more. “Captain Nakamoto, How long do we have to rest here? I would certainly love to know when I can go back to training.” at this point her eyes closed but her smile persisted as she awaited an answer from the captain. Blissfully unaware on what was happening outside, in truth Furia wanted to find out where Arashi went to, and hopefully catch him by surpise.

Eiko's ears flickered, she sensed someone or something was coming near, Katsuo could feel himself being healed.
"Division four… they are near.. fine, Katsuo Oda. Don't Ignore me any longer. My beatings hurt but they are important, stupid head!"
Katsuo rolled his eyes at the shorter than himself twin fox girls. She tried to speak so maturely at times, then reverts back to childish insults. That was Eikōgitsune for you. A jolt of energy from some exterior force causes Katsuo to gasp and break free of Eikōgitsune's spell over him. He awakens to find himself face to face with Captain Nakamoto.
"Morning!"
The man blurts. Katsuo had to blink for a couple seconds to wake up fully, then look around the room to see what was going on. His head injuries, bruises, even the hole in his torso caused by Arashi's starlight was healed. Katsuo rubbed the back of his neck. Forna moment he could have sworn he felt Tenzen's Reiatsu, a fleeting glimpse. He did however feel Oyama's presence, of which he was relieved. Arashi didn't kill her. In fact, it seemed Katsuo cane out more scathed than her. He was still angry however, clenching his fist as soon as he woke.
He wanted to become captain of Division thirteen one day, but several things stood in his way, including Arashi himself now too. Arashi had done more than defeat them, he'd shaken Katsuo's resolve. Not that he'd let that be known to anyone. His anger seemed to have faded away when he finally returned Nakamoto Taichou's cheerfulness.
"Good Morning! Thank you, for healing us."
He would bow politely but he was still in the bed.
"I am Katsuo Oda. You must be the new captain of Division four i've heard about. Pleased to finally meet you."
He turned his head as Oyama stirred awake, and asked how long they had to rest. It was a bit unusual. He'd not seen her smile before. She seemed forever at war with herself too much to smile. Like a smile, a bit of carelessness from her, and she'd be in trouble.
He looked to the Oyama Hoshi sitting there now, then looked to Yu with a more serious face, concern for Oyama. He would tense up a little. He sighed.
"You'll have to forgive Oyama-san. She is not feeling herself. I think she may be at war..."
It was possible he feared for Arashi's life and Oyama's herself, with her smiling a smile that said to Katsuo simply the word Murder.
He looked to Oyama, whichever personality it may be it was still Oyama.
"Oya. I used to be a lot like you. I made the mistake of letting the violent side of me out, and several children died because I wasn't thinking thoroughly. You're not the only one. Everyone has two sides to themselves, the difference is most people know how to balance it out. I know how you feel about hurting Arashi, but Oya…"
He said, looking at her seriously, whether or not her other side cares, will determine to Katsuo what he must do to protect her.
"To Murder a fellow Shinigami will make you no different than the Rogues I ran into as a child. I'll have no choice but to take you down, regardless of who's in command in your mind. Does your Inner Monster even think about how it can ruin yours, and it's life by doing very bad things?"
Not that it probably cared, but Katsuo did. He cared enough to make sure Oya wasn't allowed to leave the hospital yet.
"Taichou, please. Allow us to stay a bit longer, I think Oya needs to. I would like to stay with her."

“ So he aint gonna be a good sport HUH?!”
An abominable snarl rose up inside of Omoni. Its guttural sound roused a flash of anger that disturbed the woman and snapped her into action. Unless something was done to stop her, she would charge the Captain then continue to come down upon him relentlessly with the intention as well as the complete capability to bulldoze through anything less than extraordinary. Although she was usually unable to follow most fancy fighting styles, Hageshi had a reputation for being a thrasher. Regardless what opponent she faced, Omoni clawed, grasped and found a way to get ahold of them. Like an infuriated rhinoceros Omoni was prepared to take any sort of retaliation in stride. Like a dog sinking it’s teeth in and locking it’s jaw she would not let up for a moment. Only those who have fought her could understand that being covered in scars was no accident or even a result of some tests in life. Every injury that Omoni Hageshi sustained, she had meant for. Even though her flesh and bone may tear, she ceaselessly powered forward giving opponents little more time to do anything except attempt to escape the onslaught. If she caught them, her vice-like grip wrenched them into submission and she was free to clobber them until they gave into her awesome force or until they did not get up again. Thankfully, this match was a little more lackadaisical than something to the death. The object was obviously to try to keep away even though all of the attacks were meant to heal. The only thing she was utilizing with the aid of her Shikai was her unorthodox mending ability. Not to enhance her strength or speed because for that she relied on her natural physique. All of the intensity that poured out of the woman did so organically. At least that’s how it was for Omoni. ” We got ways ‘round that! KEKEKEKEKE!”
Things would have been different if it hadn’t been a matter of business. Under any other circumstances, the beastly woman would have clashed with Jinnosuke first and let Captain Maho observe at a relatively safe distance. Additionally, Namakizu had an issue with those she perceived reluctant to face her. Perhaps it was the pride of the Oni Empress but whomever this person was ended up becoming Omoni’s primary target. Now of course, Jinnosuke had been invited to join in on the treatment so that woman kept it in mind he was going to be entering the fray at any moment now. He was welcome to do so whenever he saw fit if he really did want to throw some fists. What would the pompadour wearing man do? Would he stand there befuddled or protect the Captain and by extension himself?

First and slowly, Katsuo stirs awake, his eyes flickering for a few moments before they calmly open. Still in a daze, he sits up in his bed, rubbing the back of his neck as he inspects the environment around him. Surely, he didn’t expect to find himself in the hospital, yet… here he was.
“Good morning! Thank you for healing us,” the blonde greets with a sitting bow. The young captain reciprocates with a smile and a head nod, as the man continues. "I am Katsuo Oda. You must be the new captain of Division four i've heard about. Pleased to finally meet you," he announces as his introduction.
“I’m not that new…” Yū thinks to himself before responding.
“Ah, yes. Name’s Yū Nakamoto. Nice to…” the captain begins before his voice trails off, having his attention drawn now to the peculiar Oyama. Slowly now she rises, an otherwise uncomfortable smile growing on her face by the second. Her blue eyes flicker for a few moments, before a vibrant crimson takes over. Wordlessly, she sits upright staring at the doctor, her diabolical smirk refusing to break. Hesitantly, Yū continues. …meet you… Say Katsuo, is your friend, um… is she okay?” he asks with an eyebrow raised.
”Good morning to you too, Captain Nakamoto!” the girl reciprocates with matched excitement. It was that voice again… that unsettling tone. He leans closer as she continues. “Captain Nakamoto, how long do we have to rest here? I would certainly love to know when I can go back to training,” she expresses with even more enthusiasm, the girl’s devilish smile not faltering for even an instant. Just when the captain decides it’s time to probe for more information, Katsuo notices the dilemma at hand and cuts in to save his friend.
“"You'll have to forgive Oyama-san. She is not feeling herself. I think she may be at war..." he explains… while simultaneously not explaining at all.
“At… war?” Yū questions as he leans back to his previous standing position. The nurse present in the room lowers herself to the young captain’s height in order to whisper in his ear.
“I’ll go fill out the release forms if they’re good to go,” she mutters, cueing Yū to respond with a simple nod of approval. Off she scurries, leaving the Captain with… well, he’s sure just two regular shinigami.
“Well, physically, everything is all good with you two. Of course, I recommend a lot of rest and If you do feel a little drowsy, you’re more than welcome to stay for the day, otherwise, uh... you’re good to go,” the doctor declares, clearing his throat after. However, it was clear Katsuo wasn’t as confident with that decision as both Oyama and Yū were.
“Oya. I used to be a lot like you. I made the mistake of letting the violent side of me out, and several children died because…” Katsuo lectures to the still-smiling Oyama.
“Well… uh... I’m just going to head out then… the young captain mumbles as he slowly back steps toward the door. Uninterrupted, the man continues.
“To murder a fellow shinigami will make you no different than the rogues I ran into as a child. I'll have no choice…” Katsuo continues.
“Alright, take care, you two…” Yū announces once he reaches the doorway, however this time, caught at the last second by the Oda.
"Taichou, please. Allow us to stay a bit longer, I think Oya needs to. I would like to stay with her,” the blonde pleads, this time for his friend’s sake. While Yū is sure he already presented them with that option, that smile of Oyama's has already made him too uncomfortable to bother with the chore of repeating himself.
”Yeah... yeah, feel free,” Yū grants politely before scurrying down the hallway in a hurry. “How strange…” he mumbles to himself.
