The darkness of the dangai was enough to spiral the man and his companion into both thought and doubt, consuming them both in a cloud of emptiness and disparity. It was the honest truth that this place scared him, sharing similar qualities as the prison that was his mind during his time abroad, drifting in the sea of his comatose’ state. Each step felt like an eternity, just as each moment did during his time asleep. He hadn’t spent much time in the Soul Society after waking but from what he could tell, everything was as he left it. To his left Tenzen followed in stride, now having the Shining Captain’s respect in full. He was both an honorable and skilled combatant, and although the decision was not his alone, his mind was mostly made up about the results.
As they emerged from the senkaimon, they were welcomed with by the many medical attendants that were littered about the Fourth Division, awaiting those who were returning from the exam. Although he couldn’t speak for Tenzen, Higen was feeling the best he’d felt in some time, the test a perfect opportunity for him to come out of his cage, and truly understand what it feels like to be alive once again. While fun and integral, it was short lived, and he was sure to return to the responsibilities of his daily life along with the pity and attention that came along with his coma. Both of these things conjured dread, and he began to think of any possible way to avoid them. He started with bringing the scope of the rather crowded medical bay into his spectrum, seeing as though it was filled with familiar signatures he opted not to fully commit to his re-admission.
"Bad... I'm going to be bothered and pestered to death about my test..."
”I’ll have none of that, you were a formidable combatant and I am honored to have fought with you, Tenzen. It is no simple feat to even have the opportunity to take a Captain’s Exam, hold your head high in every room you walk in.”

These words of encouragement would be a rather vast contrast from the serious demeanor presented during the test. He meant every word, understanding the obstacle of facing those close to you when you’re unsure of your venture’s outcome. Walking forward, they’d come to meet captain Nakamoto. His rather smug demeanor toward Higen further enforced how he felt about him risking his body in the test.
”I trust you know where your room is, Captain Kagayaki..."
Tch. He knew where the room was.. he knew it all too well in fact. As Yu’s gaze and attention became affixed completely on Tenzen, Higen would give the impression that he was returning to his room and then hit a rather fast and elusive cut around the corner toward the exit. He refused to return to a hospital bed, or a bed of any kind, at least until he passed out from exhaustion. He was curious to see how his division was going but could he face them yet? Could he see those who he’d abandoned for three months? Either way he’d begun to head in that direction, avoiding the crowd of the Fourth Division and sneaking off into the distance.

"“Sounds like a lot of labor.”
Yeah...Labor on his brain... or so Maho thought. He observed them both in their minor interaction taking in the cool air that filtered in through the window. Curse this hospital, he would have already sparked another had the stern woman not 'commanded' them to put them out. Ah well, he would respect it for now. It was then that she responded to his request to be included in the treatment. to which she replied, “ Makes no difference to me if you tag along or not. It’s over this way.”
Her heel rotated on a pivot as she began a long-winded stride down the medical corridor. Following a short distance behind Maho's hands slipped into his pockets, as the brunt of his attention slipped back into his mind. Over the minuscule amount of minutes that they walked, they passed a number of attractive nurses. Cute ones, plump ones. Ones whose hands looked as gentle as a breeze. His eyes fluttered at the thought. Over the last few months, these rubdowns were a highlight despite his pain. Cool and gentle fingers gliding along his flesh which eased the discomfort that plagued him both externally and internally. He caught glimpses of Omoni's hands, they were rough, but he wondered if they do offer as gentle a process as the others.
Slowly though, his expression became more and more puzzled, the further they walked, the fewer nurses they began to notice. Cute faces were replaced with more brawlic' ones until very few faces were seen at all. He was observant enough to see the changes as they became more apparent until the area was nearly abandoned. A large, dojo like building was now before them. He walked in observing the rather simplistic scenery What in the...
The doors shut behind them with a loud clack, causing his shoulders to visually jump. He turned swiftly to see the towering woman's expression.
“Fist against fist, no Reiatsu or Zanpakuto. ‘Cept for me.”
Awww hell naw...I know this B**ch not suggesting... Her jacket was swiftly hung on the rack beside her, causing his brow to scrunch up. Oh boy...She is...
Her scar riddled flesh was impressive, telling a long story of trail and error. That is what scars represented after all. Maho had very few in comparison, that could be seen anyway. His body was mostly devoid of any of those imperfections, though internally he could still feel the tightness of his scar tissue trying to fully recover. His mind immediately flashed the delicate hands he had grown accustomed to over the months. A sigh escaped his lips, though thankfully, Jinnosuke was more than happy to oblige her. Maho however, to many surprises, was far less so. His will had been shaken due to the events previously. At the very least, he could find a way to delay the need to use his body.
“Pulverize and Purify, Namakizu.”
It was then that Jinno took on his fighting stance, flipping about until his feet were firmly planted on the floor. Maho took this time to back away from them his hands not once leaving his pockets, doing so as if gliding along the floor comedically.
"I'm just gunna...sit on the wall over here. Injured or not...If I join in now it would just be overkill. She knock' you on yo ass once and I'm tagging in. That will keep things fair." His words were true enough. Maho held the reputation for the most skilled fighter in the soul society. There were others, superior in raw strength, some slightly more swift. But when it came to hands, pure and true. The Dragon was second to none. Those facts aside, he didn't feel like it anyway, so at the very least this would buy him a few moments of relaxation. Hopefully, some cute nurses would hear the commotion and come in to save him, though he knew this was only a dream.
The room became filled to the brim with the glow of Omoni's reiatsu, her large club was placed beside her leaving just her bare hands at the only surgical tools she would utilize. At the very least, this would be an interesting show. Despite his mood, watching a good battle was almost as good as being in one, and today, in particular, it was preferred. That way her beating would heal his wounds. He thought back to his refusal to accept healing from any particular kido as punishment for his previous weakness. Ah well...this is a compromise too...
And there he sat, arm draped over his knee which was raised up just eye level. His back placed firmly against the wall as he observed the small skirmish begin. How would it go? would Omoni immediately rush him, or would the green-haired fool hold his own? The room suddenly became still and silent, the two beasts were prepare to charge.

“Make Way! Make way!”
Through the crowded halls of the Fourth Division’s hospital facility, a series of voices can be heard shouting in unison. There appears to be quite the commotion, Nurses jumping aside and dropping their papers, patients tripping over their own feet to attempt and clear space. The crowded hospital, so busy on this day, begins to feel just a bit more cramped.
Down the hall, the crowd finally starts to part, revealing the source of all this commotion.

Silently, a group of masked Shinigami march in a collective circle. Their uniforms no different than an average Shinigami, spare the unique clothed masks they wore around their heads. Though many of the more experienced Shinigami would recognize these troops, those who didn’t would not be blamed for their ignorance, as it was incredibly rare to see them in public. The insignia on their masks identified them as none other than the Kido Corps.
They appeared to be encircling one individual in particular, their mass of bodies serving to both protect that person from harm, and shield them from view. Still, they made their way through the hospital, never breaking stride or formation, their movement never slowed, despite the number of obstacles and people in their way. Soon enough, the entire sea of people had parted. The path they made clear all the way up to Captain Nakimoto. What business could they possibly have with the Captain of Fourth Division? He was a former member of their rank after all, perhaps there was some special assignment they needed his expertise with…
They approached, finally closing the gap, until they stood before Captain Nakimoto as he treated the injured Tenzen Oda.
Yet, they did not look to, or in any fashion, address the young Captain.
Instead they finally parted ways, revealing who they had so personally guarded.
873227f8fe9682321278572cbec67324.png

She was a Priestess, a rank of high esteem among the Kido Corps. Wherein most had only seen the Kido Corps patrolmen during their times managing the Senkaimon, or rare situations of ceremony, None had seen a Priestess wonder the Seireitei.
Yu, undoubtedly, waited with baited breath to hear what she may have to say to him.
His face would in turn, undoubtedly flush bright red, when she failed to address him at all.
“Former Third Seat Tenzen Oda. The Kido Corps have received word of your test. I bring you this personally, as a sign of respect, Captain.”
Within her hands, she holds two robes. The first, a Haori, starch white, its interior colored teal, the Haori of the Captain of Fifth Division. Atop this, another robe is folded, perfectly square, as though preserved in time. This one, blue and gold. The black symbols emblazoned across each side of the chest barring the same symbol that finds itself atop the crown of the Priestess. The symbol of the Kido Corps.
Ceremoniously, she kneels, raising her arms above her head to offer Tenzen the garments.
”Captain Tenzen Oda, of Fifth Division. We High Priestesses recognize you as the sole Chief of our Kido Corps, in so doing, we bow to your authority and command, and follow you willingly into the boundaries of what is known.”
As Tenzen takes what he has earned, the Priestess once again rises to her feet. Immediately, the elegance and authority that her mere presence commands erases the humility of her former position and decree. She steps, one half step forward, and the troops around her spring into action. They too, push forward, tightening the circle, which now engulfs only the Priestess and Captain Oda, pushing Captain Nakamito out of their reach and earshot.
“Captain, you must forgive this unceremonious inauguration. However, there is a matter of great urgency and import, one which only the Chief of the Kido Corps may approve.”
Now, the troops rotate, turning their backs to the Priestess and Captain Oda, so that they may watch every angle of the Fourth Division Barracks, and ensure that no one gets too close.
”The Central Forty Six has spoken. Under orders from Captain Commander Murasaki, the Fifth Division is to transport the Aku Hachi Hakkō to the Kuchiki Compound. It would seem the Kuchiki have influenced the Gotei Thirteen into disposing of the hollows they keep for training and testing, not wishing to dirty their own hands. The artifact in question is already being delivered by the First Division. It needs only to be unsealed upon arrival. As Captain, the Fifth Division and by extension the Kido Corps cannot do so without your permission, Sir.”
With that, behind her golden faceplate, the Priestess awaits her Captains first, and perhaps most important, order. Would Tenzen, for his first act as Captain, stand against the wishes of the Gotei Thirteen, the Central Forty Six, the Kuchiki Clan, and Commander Murasaki? If not, then following these orders meant risking the release of endless evil and corruption, the spawning of an army of Hollows that would spread throughout the Soul Society should the Kido Corps make even a single mistake in their activation. This was no mere Senkaimon monitoring, no execution ceremony. Already, having only just been bestowed his title, Tenzen would have to make a hard decision.

"I’ll have none of that, you were a formidable combatant and I am honored to have fought with you, Tenzen. It is no simple feat to even have the opportunity to take a Captain’s Exam, hold your head high in every room you walk in.”
Formidable Combatant? An honor to have fought him? These were things said to Tenzen by The Shining Captain, Kagayaki. The words did lift his spirits as he started not to feel too downtrodden about how his performance during the test. He was even told to hold his head high whenever he enters a room, needless to say, this gave the Oda a new sense of pride within himself enough to allow himself a bit of a smile. While enjoying this sense of pride, and crushing weight of poking and prodding questioning, a singular voice called out to the attendants dismissing them. They vanished rather quickly and before he knew it he would see the reason why, Captain of the 4th Division, Yu Nakamoto. He sighed with relief, happy to finally have his personal space back to himself. The Captain seemed to dismiss Captain Kagayaki to his room without a second thought, he must have been frustrated with him about something, perhaps he wasn't supposed to leave Division 4's care quite yet? Whatever the reason was it wasn't his business and the questions were dropped as soon as they had formed. The young Captain turned his attention to Tenzen, going over the notes then looking him over from head to toe.
"You don't look too beat up to me. You must've held up a pretty good fight against Captain Kagayaki, huh?"
Tenzen puts on an awkward smile while rubbing the back of his head and looking off to the side of Captian Nakamoto, towards the ground.
"I... Just tried to mitigate the damage the best I could... If I uhh... Took any of his hits directly I'd be in much worse shape..."
Oh no, now the Captain plans to interrogate him about his test although this isn't as bad as having a mob of people pestering him. He was ready to answer any of the other questions that may be thrown his way but his attention was diverted to a commotion further away from the two, a commotion that was headed in their direction. Who could it be making such demands in a place of healing, telling patients and attendants alike to make way? By the time they came into view he knew exactly who they were, members of the Kido Corps, four of them to be exact. They must have business with Captain Nakamoto, so it would be best to remain quiet or maybe even just leave altogether. When the group parted revealing the Priestess they had been guarding he figured this had to be very important indeed.
873227f8fe9682321278572cbec67324.png

"I uhh... Think I'll just leave-"
“Former Third Seat Tenzen Oda."

Have I been demoted!? Did I perform that badly in my test!? These thoughts raced in his head during the brief moments between the end of this sentence and the start of the next.
"The Kido Corps have received word of your test. I bring you this personally, as a sign of respect, Captain.”
They got word of his test alright, and pushed him down a seat or two. She must also have something for Captain Nakamoto for her to be- But wait, she's kneeling, he had been so caught up in his own thoughts he didn't even notice the moment she began to kneel. In her hands, a white Haori with a blue and gold one as well, the Kido Corps symbol clearly visible to his eyes. He wondered what was happening here, he didn't want to get ahead of himself, no, Yu Nakamoto is being raised to Kido Chief, yeah that's it he has a history with them that is the only thing that makes sense. His over-analytical nature was beginning to looking into something that wasn't even there all because of his own doubt in his test performance. But, she was facing him, handing these prestigious robes to him and not Captain Nakamoto. He silences his doubt and lets things proceed without causing a fuss.
"Captain Tenzen Oda, of Fifth Division. We High Priestesses recognize you as the sole Chief of our Kido Corps, in so doing, we bow to your authority and command, and follow you willingly into the boundaries of what is known."
He passed? Based on his outward appearance he didn't react much as he listened to the Priestess having the stature of a man who knew for certain he was going to pass. On the inside he was ecstatic, an incredible joy flowed throughout his very being. This joy is incredible but he will not allow it to overshadow what happened in his test, he will meditate on every aspect of what happened in it to the utmost minute detail. Holding the Haori in his hands he takes extra care not to let them touch the ground, letting them rest on his shoulder for the moment as the Priestess rises to her feet again. With one-half step forward the circle of guards tighten and push Captain Nakamoto out of reach and earshot.
"Tsk."
Tenzen isn't a fan of having his personal space invaded but if he tried to step back he was sure that the Priestess would only step forward once again along with the guards moving to maintain their radius of protection around the two.
“Captain, you must forgive this unceremonious inauguration. However, there is a matter of great urgency and import, one which only the Chief of the Kido Corps may approve.”
Down to business already? Tenzen casts aside his petty thoughts and listens in close to what the priestess has to say. The guards turn and face away from them, whatever was about to be told to him was going to be very important, important enough that no one else needed to hear it.
"The Central Forty Six has spoken.
Tenzen starts putting this information together in his mind while doing this he remains silent, looking away from the Priestess and towards one of the walls. So the Kuchiki want to dispose of their Hollows by using the Aku Hachi Hakkō? Being in Division 5 he has knowledge of what this vessel is and is not something that should be used for throwing away "toys" you no longer want to play with. This puts him in a tight spot as he has no intention of disobeying an order from the Captain Commander, had it just been Central Forty-Six he would have shot down the idea without a second thought. He looks back to the Priestess before speaking to her.
"Based on what you're saying there are no Captains or Lieutenants with the transport team. I have faith in Division 1's prowess but a Captain or Lieutenant should have at least joined them. And it is to be unsealed upon arrival?"
The Priestess needed only to give but a single nod to confirm everything that was said by the newly appointed Captain. He looks away from the Priestess, falls silent and thinks for a moment, something that dangerous should not be opened without caution. After Division 2's attempted coup his healthy dose of paranoia runs its course through his mind. Who all can be trusted in the Gotei right now? Even those who smile and grin at you could just as easily be the ones scheming something vile. Thoughts of Captains Kagayaki and Nakamoto run through his mind, but this is just healthy speculation and paranoia, not anxiety so those two are pushed aside in regards to this train of thought. He looks to the Priestess again and speaks.
"My order on this matter is that vessel is to remain sealed, for now. Wait for my arrival and if my paranoia has settled itself then I will be the one to open it. While awaiting my arrival guard the vessel, anyone who gets within a spears reach is to be restrained and bound without hesitation. If..."
He hesitates himself for a moment almost feeling like he was about to overstep his own authority but he realizes that he is now the authority for Division 5 and the Kido Corps, he has to make sure his directions are followed and understood.
"If that is understood move out now and get this information to the Kido Corps members who are currently in position and waiting. I will be there soon as I can."
The Priestess nodded and took two steps away from her Captain allowing the guards to quickly encircle her like a clam snapping shut to protect its pearl. The group turned in unison and began to march out of Division 4 like a single entity.
cb57f8438c14c25ac76d46e2d889cb70.png

Tenzen takes time to fix his Shihakushō, once fixed he inhales deeply and exhales slowly while looking at his two Haori he had sprawled out on a bed. How was he going to wear both of these at once? He doesn't ponder the thought long as he puts on the Division 5 Haori first then drapes the Kido Corps Haori over his shoulders, he ensures it's snug enough not to slide or fall off when he begins moving. He closes his eyes and looks up, taking a deep breath once again and exhaling slowly. He did it, he accomplished his goal. Now it's time to make sure those who made the decision to make him a Captain don't regret it. He turns to leave but not before bowing to Captain Nakamoto.
"Captain Nakamoto! Thank you for your care and hospitality! I look forward to working with you more in the future!"
He rises from his bow and actually gives a confident grin, one not stifled by his awkwardness. After walking away from the Captain his grin fades, his thoughts turning back to the situation at hand. He tries not to do anything without a purpose, taking his time like this, letting his Kido Corps members move on ahead of him, it was all in an attempt to see if any of his fellow Shinigami were up to no good. Finally, outside he takes the fresh air into his lungs and faces the direction of the Kuchiki Manor, Southwest to be exact.
"Okay, lets try to avoid a massive incident."
With those words said he jumps a few times in place then flickers away with his Shunpo, making sure he got there at the same time the Aku Hachi Hakkō would be delivered.

Quick like a snake, the poison in Hibiki's words was sharp and subtle. It is clear that he was upset about his name being botched, and so this was noted mentally by the Pink-haired Shinigami as he nodded a bit. At the same time, the free arm appears to have retreated into the Shihakusho like a turtle's head retracted inside its shell. The moment Hibiki turned his back on the tiny Shinigami, at the same time, he too turned around to depart from the Eleventh Division's barracks. Just for a split second, his true personality manifested in such a subtle manner. In his case, it would be the smile he displayed on the face, as he walked out, which was filled with an eerily tone and malicious intent behind the smile. With such finesse to maintain his usual aura without him tipping anyone around him off.
"Hmmm... I should check on Oyabun as well."
Northwest —> Northeast
Here he would have arrived at the entrance of the Fourth Division once more. Still unphased by the time he spent on his running, in a way, it is clear that he was keeping his body conditioned in order to keep himself at all time active. At the same moment, he could hear a familiar voice.... "C'mon, Captain Kojima, You wouldn't stay out of a fight like this, would you?" was something that caught his ears the moment he entered inside the barracks. Wait... could it be Jinno!? He attempted to sense their Reiryoku right before he was interrupted by a member of the Fourth Division who may have asked him about what is his purpose at the Barracks but then, they realized that his captain was going through a checkup and so they pointed him the way to where Maho may be. Right before he could see the familiar bodies of Jinno and Maho entered into a room with the door closed behind them.
"Hmmm...HMM......"
He grew curious by what may have transpired inside the room and so he went to press his ear against the door.... attempted to listen.
