Captain Mukuro begins his report, Captain Oda seemingly staring off into space but is fully attentive of the words being spoken by the Phantom. He hangs onto every word as he wants to know why these Shinigami were brought here in shackles. What sort of crimes did they commit and more importantly than that was Katsuo just in the area when the arrests were made? Tenzen isn’t one to consider things such as hope, as analytical and strategic as he does not lean into the concept of hope. Hope is something left for those who have run out of options and are forced to gamble on an empty concept, a roll of the dice. However, in this instance, Tenzen rolls these metaphorical dice as this is truly a situation out of his control and he has no other options left but this terrible concept known as hope.
Report of the Phantom
”Captain Mukuro of the Second Division, reporting. As everyone is aware, Fuyuko Kasumi is the current Lieutenant of the First Division, a spot once occupied by Honoka Oki. While Head Lieutenant Kasumi was promoted to the position there was never an official demotion of Honoka, at least not in a manner which would explain such a drastic change in Lieutenants. It is a fact that would only transpire if Honoka had died or...if she was missing.”
Abandonment, Honoka Oki abandoned her post, a prestigious post at that. Quite literally second to the Captain Commander in terms of authority she chose to abandon her post. For what? Was it the changing of Commander that caused this? Could she have not asked to be moved to a lesser seat or take on a different role in the Seireitei? She could have been placed in the Shino Academy as a teacher, the knowledge she has could have sculpted a great generation of Shinigami. Questions and hypotheticals echo in his mind as he tries to rationalize why she would just up and leave, silencing his thoughts he continues to listen in on Mukuro's words.
”Despite Honoka’s disappearance, there seemed to be little to no fuss, nor was there any manner of explanation given, at least not genuinely or truly. As not only a Noble but a high ranking Shinigami of the Seireitei this was a rather...huge matter, where not even rumors could be heard prattling from the snoopers of the Ninth Division.”
Due to the glow in his eyes no one could ever tell where Captain Oda was looking, but after that statement his eyes did shift towards the young Captain Yugure beside him. Would it be too presumptuous to assume she is at fault in this? She is young and new to the station of Captain, combined with the hundred years of training against the Commander there must have been overwhelming pressure on her. But Honoka had vanished long before she rose to the station of Ninth Division Captain. Not his concern, these thoughts too leave his mind as they are irrelevant.
””Intelligence further revealed that Lieutenant Katsuo Oda has been in communication with the fugitive Oki, further confirmed when he was apprehended leaving from the Oki clan Compound. It is known that the Lieutenant has voiced his stance regarding the standards of the Gotei 13 many times in the past, and it is this same stance that would undoubtedly have him aid the fugitive subject in question rather than taking any action towards her apprehension. The young woman who was also found in the vicinity and as she is the subordinate of Lieutenant Oda I was unable to determine her involvement if any, so she was detained as well.”
20ed8dc7be6617e39fa60780eca6c86e.png

A change in posture, attentiveness awakening in his enlightened eyes and a glare casted down upon Katsuo. A rebel in words alone, always speaking out but never acting on them is why his stance on the Gotei 13 goes unquestioned, unchallenged. But this, this is something else. He paid visits to a fugitive, a TRAITOR and did nothing to arrest her? Did not think to report her? Did the last one hundred years he spent training to be a “proper Oda” mean nothing to him, did he learn nothing? His head is visibly turned towards Katsuo and does not move for the duration of the report. After all this time, the Oda finally have a place among the Gotei 13 once again. After all this time, they can serve the very military foundation that they are raised to serve and to think all of it can be undone because one who knows better but acts out against better judgement decides to fraternize with criminal’s, traitors.
”When I arrived at the Oki compound where Honoka was revealed to be, I attempted to bring her in with words alone. Unfortunately, before I could even finish speaking the former Head Lieutenant became immediately hostile. Deeming verbal negotiation to be pointless, I had intended to kill her on the spot, if not for the intervention of the former matriarch of the Oki Noble Family. The elder Oki appeared to reprimand Honoka Oki, but then moved to negotiate the terms of her surrender. I warned her...I warned them both about the severity of the situation and the ramifications of their actions and its effect on their clan...they didn’t listen, and Honoka instead chose to attack me and my men.”
Despite his turned head he still listens to Captain Mukuro, every word is heard crystal clear, this traitor acted out against him in hostility, what damning actions to take. Then to think criminals have room to bargain and make deals, they must have gotten this idea considering they had Lieutenant Oda in their pocket. His glare narrows as he wonders how long has his clan known about this? Putting his station as Captain before all else his eyes are often blind to the goings on of his Clan. Though, like him, they most likely expected Katsuo to do the right thing, to do what an Oda would do, kill, arrest, or report the traitor.
”As the clan had worked to hide the fugitive, had refused to corporate and had made their stance against me known during the fulfillment of my duties, the Oki clan were deemed a threat to the Seireitei, and so I killed every man woman and child in the compound of the Oki clan with the exception of Honoka herself and the former matriarch. I left the older Oki alive admittedly to act as collateral to threaten Honoka should she choose to attack again. Securing the fugitive, along with Honoka’s child and your family that was present at the time, I rendezvoused with the rest of my men and we returned here to present the parties to you. End report.”
Tenzen’s gaze turns towards Captain Mukuro, not because he slaughtered the Oki clan; treacherous filth deserves no less than to be exercised from the Soul Society. No, what draws his gaze from Katsuo is the fact that he mentioned “Honoka’s child”. He then looks towards the black haired boy, then to Honoka, then back to the boy before letting out an audible...
”No…”
Dots are connected, puzzle pieces fall into place. She vanished shortly after former Commander Muraski returned himself to Muken, she hid herself away for all this time over a child? No one would care if Honoka had a child, there would be no reason to hide. Wait, no, he understands this considering he hides his own family away but he would never abandon the Seireitei over it, unless this child's existence is a criminal offense. This child is the son of Shobatsu Murasaki, his legacy lives on despite his imprisonment. However, live or die, the fate of that child matters not to him.The Oda clan respected Murasaki for his strength, for his militaristic mindset, and his Warlord ways, however, he is a criminal now though this is a hard pill to swallow. The Oda did not care for Central Forty Six, they were weak pen pushers who hid behind placards as they judge those who can do what they could not. Yelling and screaming because all they had was words and authority, no strength to back it up. So frightful, so fearful of the repercussions of their own words that when the Oda were originally exiled it was done via messengers, never brought before the council as this same council feared the response they would receive.
Murasaki gouged out the weakness in the Seireitei, but in return was branded a criminal and yet he himself knew what he had done and arrested himself, sent himself back to Muken. Opinion on the man leans to both sides so much regarding this topic that, as a whole, the Oda clan choose to give nor have an opinion on him any longer, a true neutral stance. However, at this moment the Clan Lord, Patriarch to the Oda Clan, Tenzen Oda, does have an opinion on Katsuo and his actions. His gaze returns to the young man after hearing everything Kyomu had to say, he at last begins to speak, addressing everyone in the room but mostly it is directed at Katsuo.
Judgement of the Oda Lord
”Katsuo, our family accepted you into our home despite our rules against adoption. Bending to the wishes of a distraught mother who gave birth to a set of twin boys, one of which was a still born. They bent the rules established by the First Oda to mend her heart and gave you a home. This home you were raised in has strong loyalty to the Gotei Thirteen, we do not question small grievances here and there because they are but small cogs that make up the grand machine. Everything we do as Shinigami is to maintain balance, peace, and order. That woman, Honoka Oki, is a criminal, a traitor and you know this. Yet you still visited her, knowing full well what would happen if she were to be caught. Her clan, slayed by the hands of Captain Mukuro, if not so driven by his duties, what if he paid a visit to the Oda clan soon after? What if he slaughtered them next?”
He takes a pause, not to give Katsuo a moment to speak but to prevent himself from flying off into anger. He is trying to remain professional, this is not the sort of place to let his violent mentality go free.
”Through your actions you have endangered the lives of the Oda, our ability to serve the Seireitei, and most importantly you’ve endangered my family. You do not think, you cast judgement without thought, you wish leniency upon our enemies like the Quincy, the same filth that rented our home asunder sixteen-hundred years ago. They are not friends, we kill them without hesitation. Honoka Oki left her post without a word, and gave birth to a child who should not exist. A child you probably showered with gifts, a traitor whom you visited, a traitor you should have killed. If not killed, reported.”
This would possibly be the most anyone would have heard Tenzen speak, despite his attempts to remain professional the anger in his voice was clear and obvious. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes for a moment and opens them, a look of calm written on his face.
”Let it be known to all that the Oda have no involvement in this, if I must stand before Central Forty-Six to prove this I shall. These are the actions of an individual and so I shall cast judgement upon said individual for his crimes, his slight against my Clan, and for endangering the lives of my Clan. Katsuo, I strip you of the Oda name, the gates of the Oda Manor will forever be locked and barred to you. You may think this judgment harsh as you do all things in the Seireitei but we Oda do not and will not mingle with criminals and traitors. We faithfully serve the Gotei Thirteen with all of our being. From this day forward you are now known as Katsuo Toshiyuki, return to your original last name. You will no longer act out false notions of ‘justice’ in the Oda name, should you act out it will be in your name, alone.”
Tenzen’s head turns away from Katsuo, looking forward once more as if he were staring off into space.
”I have nothing to add on the Oki situation other than all traitors should be killed. That is all.”
With those final words the Mad Buddha goes silent, he is not meditating, nor does he have any thoughts he silently waits for the next person to speak. Should Katsuo try to speak or defend himself his retort will fall on deaf ears, for Tenzen at least. He has passed judgement, he learned from his grandfather that concerning Clan matters and judgments made concerning them should be ironclad, unwavering, if you fold and fall for one you will do so for another. The day the judgement was passed that Katsuo would be allowed to join the Oda, centuries ago, is the same day he stepped down from leading the Oda and passed the torch to Tenzen. This is not how Tenzen expected the day to turn out in the slightest.

Kyomu begins his report with a formal introduction and Yasu continues gnawing at her candy, taking glances every now and then to observe the expressions of the imprisoned and the captors, as well as the others observing, such as the Head Lieutenant, the Commander’s wife, and Tenzen Oda. Neither has made any change of expression, and she was unsure as to what to expect, but it was here that her former superior would lay it all out.
”As everyone is aware, Fuyuko Kasumi is the current Lieutenant of the First Division, a spot once occupied by Honoka Oki. While Head Lieutenant Kasumi was promoted to the position there was never an official demotion of Honoka, at least not in a manner which would explain such a drastic change in Lieutenants. It is a fact that would only transpire if Honoka had died or...if she was missing.”
Kyomu looks nowhere but at the Commander as he speaks. Yasu is quiet, as she has no place to interject. While she was aware of Fuyuko’s promotion to Head Lieutenant, she was unaware of the contents of Honoka’s disappearance from her position that elicited the drastic change. From history lessons, while rare, it was not impossible to possess two lieutenants, and this went for all divisions. Her predecessor of the Ninth Division once had his younger brother, Kyuuzou Kojima and Shinobu Abe as his lieutenants, both taking care of their respective occupations between surveillance along the walls as the last line of defense into the Seireitei and their publishing department. Yasu never understood the use of having two lieutenants, even if it was for separate purposes. As the lieutenant, they are second only to the Captain, and no one else. Surely they should have been able to handle the contents of their duties. While the young girl is competent to do her work, her tedious ways of dumping the paperwork portion of her job onto Shusuke is the most fun she gets while she runs wily.
If the First Division were to have two lieutenants, especially in these times, Yasu would have found it fitting. She knew of Honoka’s distaste of being asked to try for captaincy. Their many little talks during tea time, Yasu, who had just become the Second Division lieutenant, looked up to the former alumni and questioned why she would limit herself to this. She had never gotten a straight answer, but Honoka’s loyalty to Shobatsu Murasaki was plain as day, and she would never question her. Yet now it seems as though her loyalty to him is what had caused her to end up here, shackled and looking worse for wear. After Shobatsu’s imprisonment, Higen had taken up the position as the Captain Commander. She didn’t know when Fuyuko had become the Head Lieutenant, but it had happened, but her contact with Honoka had dwindled shortly after she had proclaimed her plans to test for captaincy. It was only when she had passed that she had made contact with Honoka, but even then, it felt rushed and like she was being pushed away, and she didn’t know anything that had happened until she’d crossed paths with Fuyuko in the First Division after one of many training sessions with the Commander.
Yasu doesn’t react to this, mostly due to the reason that she was aware of the reason as to why there was no buzz regarding Honoka’s situation, but perhaps it was her lackadaisical attitude that made this situation worse. After becoming a captain, Yasu was introduced to many new responsibilities that required her attention 24/7, even with as much work that she dumped onto her own lieutenant, she was busy nonetheless. Yasu would have many of her own shinigami patrolling the Rukongai and all corners of the Seireitei for stories that were worth telling in the Seireitei Communication Column. The Ninth Division had already gotten a bad reputation with the Nobles during the Tsunayashiro incident, and she particularly feared the power of Nobles after having gotten involved before with the Kuchiki. She was even more hesitant to take that request of help when it came to the riots, but she had luckily survived the second round of encounters.
Those that she sent to the Oki residence to leave gift baskets when she thought of Honoka would have never been able to get in to personally deliver it, but when they did report back to her, there had been multiple reports of seeing Akarui Gekko entering or exiting the compound, and with her child nonetheless. If there was such a problem regarding Honoka’s status, wouldn’t there have been a commotion regarding these two high-ranking shinigami, two respective clan leaders nonetheless? If there was such a dangerous situation, surely the Commander’s wife wouldn’t simply be doing as she had done for the past century. Akarui was known for being loud, brash, and a real stickler for the rules. She had killed the Dragon of Kojima without hesitation for disregarding the rules set in place at the last captain’s meeting. If she was moving as she had been, was there truly a problem that Yasu would have investigated? Not to mention there being no form of movement from the Phantom up until now due to the involvement from the Central 46.
”Intelligence, revealed that the Former Head Lieutenant was believed to be pregnant, and while the father has not been...technically confirmed there are...assumptions. Regardless, it stands true that Honoka abandoned the Seireitei and for One hundred years remained unaccounted for, had not returned nor had she been brought in.”
Her eyes momentarily flicker over to the child with black hair, but her gaze does not linger. She truly finds herself unable to look at this child for any more than a single moment.
”Intelligence further revealed that Lieutenant Katsuo Oda has been in communication with the fugitive Oki, further confirmed when he was apprehended leaving from the Oki clan Compound. It is known that the Lieutenant has voiced his stance regarding the standards of the Gotei 13 many times in the past, and it is this same stance that would undoubtedly have him aid th fugitive subject in question rather than taking any action towards her apprehension. The young woman who was also found in the vicinity and as she is the subordinate of Lieutenant Oda I was unable to determine her involvement if any, so she was detained as well.”
As the topic begins to revolve around Lieutenant Oda’s involvement with Honoka, she thinks back to the time during his induction into the Lieutenant’s Hall. She was unfamiliar with him then, and still, even now she knows very little of what he can do. He was skilled enough to have gained his rank as Lieutenant after failing his captaincy test, but it seemed it was his personality that caused him to be imprisoned right next to the former Head Lieutenant. She managed to remember the small tidbit of his stances regarding the Gotei Thirteen’s values and process in which they perform. Valiant, and almost heroic thinking, but also very stupid; the result in that type of mindset was apparent as Katsuo stood there in cuffs, and before his brother and clan leader nonetheless. If she were in Tenzen’s place, the amount of embarrassment that would have filled her would’ve been palpable to the room. Tenzen was a man of few words, but he was very prideful of his clan and what they stood for, constantly speaking of the dedication they had to the Seireitei if it was ever brought up. For Katsuo to have gone against those beliefs and acted as he had, Yasu couldn’t help but turn her attention elsewhere. Tenzen’s attitude had changed entirely after the mention of his brother’s plights and she pulled at the collar of her compression top as if it were getting stuffy within the room.
Kyomu pauses, there is a heaviness that fills the room, a cold shift in the air. Yasu can’t help but feel as if she were standing in the presence of a stranger. This was a woman that she looked up to as a mother figure, as her predecessor… as a friend. She truly cared for Honoka, even after those events where the Second Division were painted as outcasts of the Seireitei, and her, for being a monster, put through the worst pain imaginable to a shinigami day in and out. Yasu had felt… alone, and there were only so many people that she could truly rely on. Even if they had not spoken in this century, Yasu felt as though she could have relied on Kyomu when it counted. The world she’d known before was falling apart right in front of her, and she could do nothing. Could she have done anything in the first place? Was there any form of influence that she could have had to make things different? These were just some of the thousands of questions that flooded her head.
The most simplest question she had was simply: Why?
”As the clan had worked to hide the fugitive, had refused to corporate and had made their stance against me known during the fulfillment of my duties, the Oki clan were deemed a threat to the Seireitei, and so I killed every man, woman, and child in the compound of the Oki clan with the exception of Honoka herself and the former matriarch. I left the older Oki alive admittedly to act as collateral to threaten Honoka should she choose to attack again. Securing the fugitive, along with Honoka’s child and your family that was present at the time, I rendezvoused with the rest of my men and we returned here to present the parties to you. End report.”
“No…”

She just barely manages to catch this from Tenzen who stood directly beside her. It seemed as though the events of today had finally clicked with him. She was more surprised that he was able to say anything on the matter. Yasu didn’t have anything to say. What could she say? If she were to step in to defend Honoka, she would have been slain on the spot, labeled a traitor just as easily. It wasn’t as though she was placed in a difficult position personally, but the matter of Shobatsu Murasaki’s son existing is what put them all at risk. That monster of a man had a child, living and breathing right in this room, and he was probably as lost as any child would be regarding the situation since Honoka had harbored and hidden him from the likes of them all.
Tenzen begins to speak, but his words are directed towards Katsuo, and Yasu turns her attention towards him, feeling the seething rage that begins to break past the teeth of the usually calm-spirited monk. Katsuo had put his clan at risk, and Kyomu had slain the Oki with ease because they proved a threat to the Seireitei. Her fellow captain voices his concerns in tandem as he mentions the probability of the Oda’s massacre if Kyomu were not so merciful and had killed more than what was stated. With Katsuo imprisoned for involvement, the chances of his clan also taking part in this were applicable, and people such as Kyomu would take the chance to kill anyone that proved to be a threat to this world and the system they served.
His anger is thick and Yasu feels uncomfortable standing next to him, but she knows that he wouldn’t lash out so haphazardly. He had all the right to be as he was. Yet again, it was another Noble matter, and she wished to stray away from involving herself in things such as this. Other than during the times in which she would push him to talk, this was a time that truly surprised her to have heard him to be so passionate and talkative about a subject. When Tenzen strips the boy of his clan name and returns him to the life he had before them, Yasu truly was in a daze. One thing right after the other was happening right before her, material more than enough to be put into the magazine, but these matters were rather sensitive, so she’d have to be careful.
“I have nothing to add on the Oki situation other than all traitors should be killed. That is all.”
This was nothing like what she had expected her first captain's meeting to include. She looks up to the Commander, not sure as to what she should say, or if she should say anything at all. Tenzen had made himself clear on his stance regarding traitors. Such a stance would also mean the death of Katsuo perhaps, but what was he of any concern of Tenzen's after his expulsion. Yasu turns to look at Honoka, but she feels... nothing. Disappointment, yes, but none of the hatred in which Tenzen
has. Where her mind does go is far back to when she had cried about the worthiness she had to be the Second Division's lieutenant and the jarring question that Honoka had for her...
Time really did change things...

"Answer me, Lieutenant Yūgure, how do you handle treason in your division?"
“What are you saying, Lieutenant Oki?”

Although not prescient, Eizoku was extremely observant and analytical. It was more than obvious that his fear at this point had become outwardly evident by his inability to control his own shaking. The typical approach that onlooking individuals often followed up with when this became apparent, was the use of untactful intimidation. So when it occurred, despite his rather flustered and offset state, the zanpakto-less chronomancer hadn't expected to been taken completely by surprise. His lieutenant, as if followling a script Eizoku had penned in his mind, fell right into the expected behavior. Yet realistically even though it was expected, the action he chose as medium for his intimidation would still elicit an uncontrolled response from the man.
The green haired lieutenant, whom always held his eyes closed shut, was now peering over at the entourage of familiars escorting Eizoku, and for the first time...his eyes had been opened. It had been such a simple gesture, yet it strayed so far off of the general tactics Eizoku was expecting him to utilize, also stripping away the only familiar trait of the man that he recalled. The sight instilled sheer terror into him - it had seemed so...unnatural. The man's midnight blue oculars seemed as if they peered straight through him, it was as if he had no privacy, no hidden secrets, like he had been peering into his very soul. Equally as beautiful in their hue as it was terrifying.
With each passing moment, the man paced ever forward, continuously drawing closer. His sandals sliding and tapping against the concrete footing of the barracks, the sound seeming to gradually grow louder with every step from his own exaggerated perspective. Eizoku's heart began to beat more erratic with each passing moment until he finally gave way to hyperventilating. His eyes were forcibly connected and interlocked with Arashi's own direct gaze. Every pace closer creating a clearer visual of another gaze lying behind his own - something unnatural and sinister. Yet, he simply couldn't bring himself to look away.
It had been almost as if the man had been under a complete hypnosis, stuck in a trance and of his own accord could do nothing to break it. That is until an overbearing weight began to gradually weigh down upon his shoulders. The sudden pressure countering his trembling as his energy innately began being used to support his lower body and maintain his own balance. Yet, all his efforts proved futile despite how hard he tried. He was continually being forced lower...lower....lower - his right knee eventually pushed to the ground causing him to kneel as he looked up at the man still approaching. It was nothing like he had experienced before, he had been drowning in a sea of nothingness that seemed to continually pull him under - realistically how can one break free from nothing? The component gripping him that he needed to free himself from was this terror that continued to blossom inside him. By this point, Eizoku had fallen to all fours, sweating so profusely the ground beneath him becoming darkened from the drops of sweat dripping from his nose and chin.
"I...is...is he about to kill me?!"
The man managed to express verbally in a voice broken and airy. A stark contrast from his usual mellifluous tactful speech. The weight being exerted seeming to magnify two times over its original presence in the moment, forcing Eizoku in a humiliating bowed position with his forehead being forced into the ground. It hadn't been until that moment that he had come to the realization that it hadn't been just fear alone weighing him down, but rather it had been the man's intentional exertion of his spiritual pressure.
“ We, are one.”
” We, are one.”
A tone all too familiar, a booming voice of gurgled words and bloodthirst emerging at once sent a continuous chill down the man's spine. It had been in that moment, that once could say the former third seat had...snapped.
"No...no! There's no way! I killed you in the Dangai, how th...HOW ARE YOU HERE NOW...?!
The man screamed as the dual voicing he heard shook him to his core, obviously alerting all present that his mental state was indeed damaged in some form. Struggling to lift his head up, barely managing to see the full body of Arashi at once, he would notice the further he panned up, the greater his resemblance was to the hollow who had sent his life in the direction of this downward spiral. Eizoku's emerald eyes bulging in sheer shock upon what he believed he saw before him. The hollow he was sure he killed twice, had now been directly in front of him once again seeking to take the man's life.
25defee10a88840a4c3e3639b15db48b.png
wE ArE OnE!!!!
The terror overtaking his body in that moment turned into sheer adrenaline for his own self preservation. An overwhelming eruption of the man's reiatsu washed across the area, multiplying its weight and rapidly expanding its reaches in such magnitude that he was almost immediately able to counter the pressure which had been placed on him prior. He had been so focused on the hollow before him, that he was negligent to realize the oncoming effects of his spiritual pressure, all individual's within a 25 foot radius who had failed to contend with his reiatsu, would find their bodily systems and functions falling out of sync one by one.
Without his zanpakto not present, the man had very limited options in his source of self defense, and from the looks of things, the kido corps and those present within the division hadn't viewed the hollow as a threat despite it blatantly standing in front of them threatening to wreak havoc with its presence alone. The situation had senselessly went from bad to worse, and had it not been for the fear that encapsulated him, perhaps Eizoku would truly realize how ridiculous the entire scenario sounded. And come to the realization his mind was indeed playing tricks on him with fear personified by his own lieutenant. Nevertheless, the dreadheaded tactician's brain managed to select the single most beneficial strategy for self preservation, and thus it went into effect.
Within what seemed like the blink of an eye, Eizoku's head tilted in such a manner that the golden clips which restrained his hair caught the sunlight, creating a quick pulsing unnaturally intense reflection with pinpoint precision directing it into the opened oculars of the beast before him. The speed at which this would be carried out amidst his lieutenant's slow approach, and the natural speed of the reflection of light, he would inevitably be faced with the brunt of the shine in some way, shape, or form. Perhaps blinding the man would provide Eizoku an opening to escape, potentially fleeing for help - or so it would seem. Yet, he continued still, reaching up with the his full speed and strength, snatching and unclipping yet another golden clip from his dangling dread before slinging it directly upward synchronously with his last action. It seemed as if it had picked up the light of the sun before it was actually embraced by it's rays in what one could describe as a quick pulsing glow of disorienting light that flashed first, before dying down reflecting its rays and expanding the radius of the flash - shining far greater than it should, consuming the entire portion of the barracks they occupied. The intense shine forcing eyelids closed as if by instinct, in a way far more distinct than squinting, a sure indication of kido utilization, to anyone who had been intelligent and seasoned enough to recognize it.This endeavor however, had been the initial stages of the man's escape plan. The exact moment the burst of light occurred, Eizoku would commence the most critical portion of his rather rushed strategy, before vocalizing aloud what he would deem the technique that he desired to immobilize his foe to escape.
"I'LL RESTRAIN YOU! Bakudo #61. Rikujōkōrō!!"
Yet, as the initial bursts of light died down and dwindled in intensity, the man stood there, still in the midst of everyone. A questionable look of shock and confusion plastered across his visage. It could be understood clear as day what had occurred, his verbalized kido spell....hadn't activated? Had his fear and the pressure brought about by desiring to preserve his life caused it to fail? It had been such a painfully humiliating and degrading moment that even a vast majority of the kido corps and barrack members who had not succumbed to the effects of his own spiritual pressure by now, simply remained idle - not even attempting to rebuke him for his unwarranted actions.
"I don't understand...Wh...why didn't it work!? I provided a natural source for the light and...it still failed?"
Coming completely to his feet, keeping an eye on the beast before him, while other's seemed to give out and collapse - perhaps from the lingering effects of his still spiritual pressure. The man simply stood there, in what could be perceived as stunned. Had he again bordered on the brinks of surrendering to the hollow which plagued him, this time without so much as a fight? What would happen to him next?

One, Jatiri Yabuki travels with the intention to see a comrade, a friend- one who has been captured and kept within the walls of the 5th Division. In the midst of his current path, he plans to redeem himself through training, to strengthen his prowess, his battle instincts. Is it possible that he hoped for Jiroshizo’s release so that he could have a familiar face at his side, to critique when he fails, to uplift him when he conquers, to carry him when his time comes? Whatever his motives, whatever his reasons, his wandering for an officer will cease having arrived at the main gates of Squad Five…
None other than a High-Priestess greets him in silence, an abrupt Shunpo that could possibly startle the man before her. Regardless, she would be the very being he will answer to, as of this moment.

” Jatiri Yabuki.”
Stating his full name while neglecting his rank, his squad for they held no purpose at this moment. His presence was unwarranted, unexpected even. He’d stand unsure of the glare that falls behind due to the visor that conceals her face and expression.
” Why have you come and how may the Fifth Division assist you?”
Direct, the High-Priestess demands a swift answer, one that she probably already knows. Knowing his name meant that she knew of his origin, the Ninth Division. Like most members from that Squad, did he wish to deliver news or gain them? She expects a pen and pad, something to jot down any information he may intend to inquire about. However, this was not the case, he seemed to be searching, worried, wandering, missing something… Such answers will be revealed if he wishes to step any further into the Fifth Division, but despite his arrival, it seems things within their walls grow far more…
Complicated…
" No...no! There's no way! I killed you in the Dangai, how th...HOW ARE YOU HERE NOW...?!”

Terror arrives! The crippled and mentally disturbed soldier snaps. No doubt this loud outburst would grab the attention of all, including Jatiri, but not the High-Priestess. Her position remains solid, concrete, still awaiting an answer from the young man. The commotion that carries on behind her, deeper into the barracks is of none of her concern since the Lieutenant of Squad Five is already there, and she stands confident in his ability to handle the situation.
Alas, Eizoku musters the strength to raise his head. His fear begins to play tricks on him, forcing him to confront the monstrosity he struggled to survive against in the Dangai. That same Hollow who nearly took his life. The fear that emits from him is twisted and modeled into adrenaline and as he seeks to survive once again, his Reiatsu explodes outward, nearly contending with the power of Lieutenant Suta, albeit a minor display. While Lieutenant Suta is capable of combating this release of pressure with ease, those who were beneath their level of power fall short. One by one, members of the Fifth Division begin to feel their bodily functions give way. Pissing on themselves, defecating almost immediately, throwing up. Quickly, it becomes a mess. Even though all this, the High-Priestess confronting Jatiri remains as is, seemingly oblivious to what goes on.
Arashi stands idle, unmoving. Neither hand moves to grip the handle of Hoshizora. He simply surrounds himself in a heavily controlled and condensed out-put of spiritual energy; a wall that prevents any of Eizoku’s spiritual pressure from touching him. At this point, his eyes have closed, he awaits for this childish outburst to run its course, however, such antics only progress to an act of blinding the Lieutenant and all those who stand around him. Though such efforts proved futile, useless against the closed-eyed Lieutenant and especially against the High-Priestess that escorted him, their visors, their masks protecting them easily from such a bright display. With all his speed and strength, Eizoku attempted to reach upwards, but he would fall short, the High-Priestess had already lifted their hands to cast a Bakudo.
” Bakudo Number 9, Geki!”
Outlined in red, Eizoku will likely find his entire body paralyzed completely in place.
” Bakudo Number 61, Rikujokoro!”
Utilizing the very light source created by the abrupt flash, and the already existing light of the world. The likely paralyzed Eizoku is struck at his midsection by six beams, furthering his restriction. However, a swift hand from one of the remaining High-Priestess moves before Eizoku’s face. Performing Inemuri (威眠, Forced Slumber), Eizoku’s pupils will dilate before glazing over, forcing him to fall unconscious. Lieutenant Suta sighs heavily, shaking his head. He could only relate to the amount of fear and desperation shown here. With such relation, he could only at this moment show Eizoku sympathy.
” Take him to one of the cells. You are to watch over him at all times, even in the time he awakens, however, he remains bound by Kido. Should the Captain return before and after he wakes up, inform either one of us. I will provide a brief report to him of what has transpired. Dismissed.”
Not a word is uttered in response as Arashi gestures for two of the Fifth Division members that weren’t affected by Eizoku’s spiritual pressure to come over and help carry his unconscious body. Lieutenant Suta looks over to the many unfortunate, watching them collect themselves, disgusted at the filth and embarrassment they lay in. With the same smile on his face, it is unsure if he found it amusing or not. In the meantime, he’d felt a spiritual signature, one that does not belong to this Division. A visitor? Whatever the reason, he had other matters to tend to at the moment. The disappearance of Takashi Kiyoshi is one to start on.
He pats himself down, searching for his Denreishiki until he finds it, tucked away tightly in his garments. Swiping up on the screen, he quickly issues a message to two people. One of his Squad, and another in Ninth.
Directed - Lieutenant Shusuke Kiyoshi: “ Lieutenant Kiyoshi, I need answers on the whereabouts of Takashi Kiyoshi. He has been AWOL for the past hundred years with no communication. I’ll be sending Kiku Shunkan to speak with you on the matter.”
Directed - Kiku Shunkan: ” Kiku, come find me in Fifth, I have a task that needs to be handled. And, no it has nothing to do with cleaning, I promise…”

Arrived in Central Seireitei from Northwest Seireitei
The newly formed duo's travel is relatively quick. The pace kept by the two is decent, with the occasional detours as Omoni shifts in direction only to be shepherded back to the right path. Eventually they arrive at their destination, the First Division's barracks. A place relatively familiar to Nibui who was previously and is once again a Lieutenant, his peers having their own meetings held within these same grounds. Standing at the entrance into the barracks, he sets his gaze towards Omoni and contemplates silently for a moment.
"I wonder does she need me to bring her any further.."
A soft sigh escapes his lips and soon he steps forward, taking the situation into his own hands and assuming that it is perhaps for the best if he did in fact guide the Captain ALL the way there. Soon enough they are upon their destination. Nibui turns towards his Captain and with an arm outstretched, he gestures towards the Captain’s Hall.
"Here we are. I'll wait out here until you're done. When this is all over, we'll see what we do then."
Once the Captain makes her way inside, Nibui is left to ruminate. The promotion in the forefront of his mind and also the previous Lieutenant of the Eleventh, Jinnosuke. In Nibui's mind, the pompadour sporting Shinigami seemed in a regards a much better fit for the role. His passion and way of mind lent itself perfectly to the division and yet, Omoni had made her choice. Still, the choices are made and the results will eventually be on display.
