Himari slowly let herself calm down, closing her eyes and pinching the bridge of her nose. She really had to work on anger. It was one of the things that sort of hindered her from making friends and forming any type of close relationship with anyone in her squad. This made her think of her anger towards Arashi the first time she met him, which was a little uncalled for.
But, he was an asshole.
"Haha I thought you knew by now I live to piss the people I care about off…"
She shook her head, but she couldn’t stop the small smile that formed on her face, but she quickly turned away from the Lieutenant so he couldn’t see this. She wasn’t really used to showing any type of emotion other than anger, scared to let anyone in. But Katsuo was one of the people that made her smile, and she wanted to thank him for that-one day.
"SO! How are your Zanjutsu skills coming? You wanna go have a session out in the yard before I get called to the world of the living again? Oh.. Also Himari, have you talked to Tenzen yet, or are you still afraid?"
She sighed again before slowly turning towards the blond, not really looking at him. In all honesty, her Zanjutsu still wasn’t good. At all. And this was one thing that angered her about herself and made her sad. What was wrong with her? Why couldn’t she be a good fighter? Why couldn’t she be a good swordsman like Arashi? Like her captain? Hell like anyone.
And of course he would bring up Captain Oda, the one person she has avoided the most. She felt like he didn’t like her, anyways. She felt like she was a waste of space. Undeserving of being a seated officer. What has she done? Eizoku, their third seat, did ten times more than she. He was even off doing missions when all Himari did was be anxious, hiding away.
Seeing the captain would sicken her.
”No, I haven’t talked to Captain Oda,” She spoke, casting her eyes to the ground. ”Haven't really seen much of him, really. You know this.”
She looked up as he ended his sentence. Not saying anything else.
y'know, Himari… if you ask Tenzen to train with you, I'm sure he'll do it, combat is one of his most favorite things in the world… despite what you might think. It might not be training like mine, where I show you some cool techniques and you practice em , but you'll learn something from him i'm sure… all for your survival out there. I mean the same for your other Division members, all you gotta do is ask em."
She as frustrated at this. She knew this. She knew she could ask Tenzen, she knew she could ask anyone else. But it was all about pride. She already felt sick knowing the possibility that Tenzen thought of her useless. The last thing she wanted to do was train with him, even though she knew it would solve a lot of her issues. Tenzen was a captain for god's sake, he knew way beyond Himari. She was one that loved to learn. But she also was someone filled with too much pride.
And asking other Division members would be the same. She didn’t want to face anyone’s judging eyes. She was comfortable with Katsuo. He was a friend. He was the only one she let her guard down for. Even though it was just a little.
She just watched him as he moved. Moving to the place he had pointed her to go. Every time it came to training, she was always nervous. Embarrassed of screwing up. So, as she watched Katsuo move back and forth on his feet, she stood there, like a scared baby doe. Her fingers slowly moved towards her zan, hoping feeling the halt of the weapon would give her some form of comfort.
”C’mon Himari, Let’s get started.”
At those words, he removed his twin blades. She didn’t even want to stand there long enough to see him finish the action. In a shooken breathe, she quickly Shunpo’ed away from the man. Shunpo was one thing she would always be comfortable with using. Getting away like a scared child as fast as she could was her specially.
But not today.
She quickly landed on her feet, now facing his back. She didn’t even think twice as she quickly pointed her shaking finger towards the man, her eyes focused as she shouted.
”Hadō #1. Shō (衝, Thrust)!
As she shouted this, a small flash of white light would dispel from the tip of her finger, quickly moving towards the Lieutenant in hopes of creating even more distance between them.

Katsuo nodded, and sighed. He hasn't seen much of Tenzen either lately over the last 100 years, mostly due to Yuri attacking him every waking minute of every day since. He knew Tenzen was training with Head captain Higen… a great Honor. Perhaps one day Katsuo can make Captain of division 13 and prove himself better too.
"I know. You want to prove yourself to your captain and make him proud, make him acknowledge you because you think it'll boost your confidence. Let me share something with you though, I learned over the last 100 years…"
Suddenly his reiatsu sky rocketed to dangerous levels, and instilled fear into anyone nearby. The sudden burst of reiatsu was to repel the hado attack, and suddenly Himari would find Katsuo's music playing just as he bumps his arm to his waist where his phone was. Shunpo, one step of shunpo and he was already next to Himari, his sword pointed at her back.
"you don't have to prove anything to anyone but yourself. Fuck your captain, you get better for you, nobody else, not even friends or family. Check. You dead, try again. Haha."
He wouldn't hurt her with his attacks, unlike Yuri. Something ate away at him that maybe he should come at her with the intent to kill, maybe she'd learn combat faster… or die. Damn him… Yuri was making him think more violently… he couldn't help but feel like this is what Tenzen wanted when he asked Yuri to train Katsuo.
"let's see how you defend against this."
He said, his music blasting. Katsuo began fading in and out to the beat of the music. It was his special speed clone technique that confused his opponents before he decided to strike, he'd leap toward Himari and go for a Hakuda attack that swept under an opponent's legs and dropped them to the ground. Could Himari keep up? If she could maybe it was time to raise the bar once more.

“I know. You want to prove yourself to your captain and make him proud, make him acknowledge you because you think it'll boost your confidence. Let me share something with you though, I learned over the last 100 years…"
Ack!
Himari had no time to think of her next move because suddenly, she as pushed off her feet, sending her flying in the air. She didn’t let herself be thrown to the ground though. She suddenly kicked her feet up, turning her body in, turning her flying of misery into a fun flip, kicking landing on her hands and knees.
She caught her breathe, her blue hair was now completely out of his top knot she loved toplace it in(She hated it hitting her face) and was now scattered all over her face.
She fucked up, already
She knew it. She let her anxiety get in the way of doing anything else. She could have unleashed Kori. It would have made things a little easier for her. She could have done anything but stand there.
Suddenly the Lieutenant was standing behind her, his sword in her back. This burned anger into her. The music coming out of his headphones loud, almost as if the room itself was playing the music.
you don't have to prove anything to anyone but yourself. Fuck your captain, you get better for you, nobody else, not even friends or family. Check. You're dead, try again. Haha.”
The laugh that came from his mouth made it worse. She knew she was a laughing joke. Himari of the 5th. A girl who hasn’t done nothing to prove herself. She heard the whispers from some of her squad mates. How they thought of her. Suddenly she was angry, her Reiatsu rising. It wasn’t as powerful as the Lieutenants, of course, but anyone would notice its presence. As she slowly got to her feet, the room suddenly felt cold, as if they were in the middle of an ice storm. She couldn’t hear the music of the Lieutenant anyone, her eyes closed. Her Reiatsu made it feel like the world around her was a stand still.
Himari_1.png

”let's see how you defend against this."
She felt the Lieutenant move, not needing to open her eyes. She knew where he was. And thanks to her Reiatsu, his movements were a little slower than they would be if she wasn’t using it. Uncoordinated. She suddenly felt a surge of confidence as she quickly lifted up her hand in front of her body, as if they were her shield.
”Bakudo number 8, Seki!”
As she shouted this, a orb of light blue energy came out of the fronts of her hands, just as the Lieutenant’s Hakuda attack was about to hit her. It repelled the attack off the energy of light from her hands, not hitting her and bouncing back to the Lieutenant.
She quickly straightened herself up, before using Shunpo to jump off some of the makeshift structures that resembled buildings before she hit behind one, before quickly unleashing her Zan, giving it a twirl.
”Dance on us, Kōri no ryū(氷の竜) Ice Dragon!
As she shouted this, the sword quickly changed in mid swirl, the black and blue halt turning completely blue, along with the rest of the sword. It didn’t look like a sword anymore, it looked like a large dart. She felt the coldness of the dragons spirit, and it instantly gave her some courage as she jumped out of her hiding space before quickly using Shunpo towards the Lieutenant, the effects of her Reiatsu still in effect. She quickly pointed her index and middle finger out in a pushing motion, as she was pushing something away from her. Nervous because she had only performed this spell once before, but there was no time for that.
’Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens, Hado number 73! Soren Sokatsui!
The energy coming from her palms would head towards the Lieutenant, a large burst of energy. Even though her Reiatsu slowed down her opponents actions, the spell didn’t slow. She watched as the twin bursts went towards the Lieutenant. If he reacted quickly, if he was able to withstand her Reiatsu (which was somewhat likely, he was stronger than her), he could possibly dodge.

" Captain Oda Around? "
Kiku would ask, a light sweat being cleaned from his brow. The shinigami attendant to the Kido Corps looked at him strangely for a second. " Oh... Kiku! Sorry, it's still awkward without your mask, sorry. We can send word to see if Captain Oda is around. " He nodded his thanks and walked over to the courtyard. There was a large white stone basin for plants removed and replanted over the last one hundred years.
Kiku briefly exchanges the memories around his head, thinking of what the last decade had brought him. He was more than confident in his own skills. Mastering his Shikai and even unlocking Bankai, training with Nibui from the 8th Division. Still, something was missing, a curiosity that he couldn't quite get to stop probing his mind. He wanted to learn more, find out more answers. His interest in his own physical aptitude had brought him on a path that likely saved his life.
After finding out what happened in the First Division, Kiku was sure his clan would somehow get involved. Even with how absent they have been. It had been some time since he had heard or checked-in from any of them. It goes both ways, he supposed. Sighing these thoughts off with a shrug, he looked towards the clouds. Typical of him to do so on days like this.
Kiku figured it would be best to let things settle for a while before he went asking questions, and as it turned out. Captain Oda would have been busy this last decade anyway. He had more responsibility and success rate than many of the other Captains. So between Newly instated Captain Commander Kagayaki training the lot of Vizards and instructing the Soul Society, he was spread thin. In hindsight, this probably wasn't something he would deem important to deal with now either.
It was a feeling in his gut that Captain Oda might shed some light on the events for the sake of Kiku's past involvement, if the least. Besides Akarui, who has been notoriously absent to his messages as of late, Captain Oda was the only other person he could go to. Now that his old Captain is in the Mukken and Yami and Honoka have vanished. Kiku was surprised he hadn't noticed anyone following him around. This leads him to believe he saved his own life by deciding to wander into the fifth division.

Himari made the mistake of ignoring the speed clones. Katsuo sighed. Her kido attacks, although valiant, missed Katsuo entirely both times as she aimed for his shunpo clones, which thanks to her reiatsu effect were moving at a slightly slower pace for her. Suddenly, and swiftly however, Himari would soon be punished from ignoring the effects of Katsuo's reiatsu, and clones. The reiatsu Katsuo emitted would soon become stronger, and Himari would be frozen with fear as he reveals himself still standing in front of her. As she would be frozen from his intense spiritual pressure, he'd circle her, retaining the same distance all around.
"Himari, Himari, how many times have I told you, be aware of your opponents moves…"
He'd punish her alright. That was ridiculous! He knew she could do better. She wouldn't get anywhere like this… Katsuo knew. He was a lot like how she used to be. Accepted into the Oda, but had felt for a long time, he was unworthy of being one. His cousin, a brilliant beautiful woman… Honoka Oki… told him words at the Lieutenant meeting that he would carry for the rest of his life.
"Your name influences nothing, you sit here among us through your own ability, even if you do not see it."
He wanted Himari to see it… the amount of influence she does have with her Comrades, her captain… Division five was her family, for as long as she could see it, she needed someone to show her just how powerful she could be if she thought and put her mind to it. Honoka did this for Katsuo, and inspired him… he wanted to do it for Himari, and his squad.
"Get up, Himari. Get angry. Raise your reiatsu and break my own. Fight or die, Himari Shimi. Nobody will come and save you, you gotta save yourself!"
He'd tell her, as she'd be frozen in fear from the effects of his reiatsu. She had to break from it on her own, Katsuo wasn't going to let up this time. Time for a little bit of Oda Clan tough love. Something he dealt with most of his life.
He dashed toward her, phasing in and out from the right and left with his speed clones. As soon as he was upon her he'd give her another Hakuda technique, this time a strong Reiatsu infused headbutt that could render her unconscious if she didn't withstand his power at all. The headbutt would be followed by another sweep at her legs, knocking her to the ground.
