Precarious Situation
Miscalculation, a world that seldom is used in sentences against the self proclaimed strategist. This is a rare instance where it is used against him and as absurd as it may sound and seem The Buddha anticipated getting caught. To sneak about in off limits areas to think one would get away scott free is a fools pipe dream. Every level of precaution must be taken into account, every detail, every outcome. This particular outcome was a favorable one for him. The woman, Akarui Gekkō, is his senior by almost three hundred years she should have known better, taken a bit of precaution herself before marching into Central Forty-six so boldly not masking her presence. Perhaps her duty to apprehend rule breakers blinded her, or maybe her victory against Captain Kojima was the source of her blinded approach to stopping Tenzen. Regardless of the source, the outcome of this volatile situation is Tenzen’s victory.
She marched in, scanning the area somehow knowing something was off even though there were no traces of anything to raise an alarm other than perhaps a momentary breeze. Her instincts are sharp, but her wit compared to that of the Oda Captain is as vast as Heaven and Earth. She reaches her hand out, attempting to tear away light itself to unveil an illusion that may exist before her only to unveil…
Nothing.
She used the correct spell, that is for sure, but why didn’t it work? Before her should stand Captain Oda, bound by her Bakudo but instead there is only empty air. This comes down to the gap in skill level between them in terms of Kido. She, a mere specialist in the field, thought that she could undo the full incantation Bakudo 26 cast by the man who holds the title of Grand Master of the Kido Corps itself. That is nothing but arrogance on her part, no other way to describe it. The second folly of her mistake is thinking the Captain had no contingency plan, before he even landed at Central Forty-six he had primed a spell in each hand, that spell was Hakufuku (白伏, White Crawl; Viz "White Concealment"). The moment she raised her hand to unveil the Captain he triggered the spell, the petals cloaked by the full incantation Bakudo 26 slipped past her defenses. Her conscious is muddled, confused and disoriented before finally succumbing to it and passing out. When she awakens she will have no clear memory on what she was doing down in Central Forty-Six, such are the effects of the spell.
With the woman dealt with he begins to make his way out of the building, looking around the area at Shinigami scrambling to lock down the area. A futile effort as Captain Oda slips past them as easily as he slipped in. As he leaves the area he escapes knowing Akarui memories would be removed his presence is erased in body, spirit and now mind. His next destination is now Kido Corps seeing as his luck was just tested against someone of First Division he would be better off not heading to the Muken and at Kido Corps HQ he holds power and dominion, the secrets there are under his guard and protection. Even now though the Captain remains on edge, ready to deter any who may try to tail him, although it would take some close to his equal in Kido to even pick up on his trail.

The raven haired lieutenant was pleased with the reaction she got from the head lieutenant; it wasn’t much but it was something she could add to her collection. Fuyuko quietly watched as the lieutenants one by one entered the room and took their assigned seats. It appeared something as simple as arriving and sitting couldn't go smoothly because the next thing she saw was a massive door abruptly sent flying in the room heading towards Arashi Suta. The one who had caused this commotion was someone she never met in person but he certainly made an entrance, and in such a disrespectful manner in front of Lady Honoka. Fuyuko didn’t do much in response, she didn’t want to waste her energy on idiotic brute manners. It was rather ironic, her low tolerance for brutes given her as the Lieutenant of 10th division..where the Shinigami Men Association meets...every week. she felt a bit annoyed by this.
930e986e660300e4638183a2fd2b7fef.png

"Thank you everyone that is able to be here today. I'm aware we missed our chance to have a meeting when the Captains held their own, which is usually when we hold ours, but I'm certain everyone had far more urgent matters to….We also do have some new faces joining us."
Fuyuko looked at the new faces around the table. She was curious how they'd do or how long they'd even last for that matter — for now, it’s a good thing that each division was slowly getting proper placements. Being a Vice Captain was a huge responsibility, but it was also a great honor to be trusted as the Second in Command. Fuyuko smiled, lightly reminiscing on the first day she met Captain Higen — but that was another story for another day. For now, she was here to report what has happened in the past events.
Watching Honoka tidying up the papers before she hands it out to Fuyuko and Yasu respectively to pass around. she took the papers that she received, promptly passing them down the line handing the remaining ones off to the amazon woman.
Listening to Honoka as she started to talk about what had been going on, the raven headed Lieutenant was confident that the unanswered questions she had would all be answered in this meeting. She remained silent and indifferent regarding news of 12th Division's Lieutenant. Fuyuko didn’t care who this Nozamu person was. It was a stupid idea to even think of fleeing, did he truly believe he could get away? If he was stripped of his rank what did he think would happen from his desire to leave? That they would send him off with a farewell card and a box of chocolates? No, if they don’t full-heartedly devote themselves to not only their division, but the Gotei 13 as well then they could pack up and leave. As she sat there, she admittedly began to zone off a bit as the Head Lieutenant continued discussing shinigami that didn’t interest her in the slightest, looking down at her paper she was in her own mind a bit.
It wasn't until she heard that the Third division's third seat, Enso Aikawa was held in the Maggots Nest and that three shinigami had been killed did she return to the discussion. Fuyuko recalled the incident at the Seventh Barracks, namely the three reiatsu signatures that had abruptly. She was upset, the very notion of a fellow shinigami killing off one of their own in cold blood, and for what? What could drive a person to go so far? Were they making a statement, or was this simply to show off their strength?
"If I may..this might not even help the evidence against Enso Aikawa but while I was in the 10th division I was able to sense a great cut of in Spiritual Power from three shinigami over at the Seventh Division Barracks. Three people died, Enso remained doesn’t that say enough? Its clear Enso is the one behind the incident."
She briefly remarked. She wanted to say something about it, assuming things without any actual proof was never good. There wasn’t much she was able to do anyways.
"I want to put some worries at ease by confirming Shobatsu Murasaki is imprisoned in the Muken."
Hearing that the Captain Commander..well, ex-commander was in the Muken and that her own Captain was now the acting Commander, leaving her as the acting Captain for now until further notice.
She was admittedly shocked at the news, but his charges werent something to take lightly. She couldn't begin to imagine what Honoka was feeling, though nothing had ever been said there was always a powerful bond between Captain and Lieutenant.
Next, it was her bestfriend's turn. When giving the signal towards Yasu to start the report, Fuyuko made sure to listen attentively. As she began on the situation that happened in the Rukongai, Fuyuko listens to the intel about the many shinigami that had been lost with two od them being members of Yasu's Division. Thankfully one of them was still alive, heavily injured but alive. The raven felt for Yasu who had endured so much. Fuyuko understood it was a Shinigami’s job and one needed to have tough skin to endure any misfortune — still, it seemed like there was no break for them, there was always something going on. The way Yasu was bouncing her leg up and down it was one of her ticks, Fuyuko always noticed when she felt uncomfortable.
“After the release of the group of Vizards, I had been tasked with retrieving a certain individual who had been residing within the Rukongai for intel purposes. Unfortunately, the task had gone successful, but with casualties. I and Kazumi Fujioka had come across an encampment where shinigami of both the Second and Seventh Division were displayed as trophies or warnings. With the assistance of Arashi Suta and his party, we had completed our objective."
Fuyuko tilted her head slightly towards Lieutenant Suta when Yasu gestures her hand to him. It seemed like he got more useful after they last parted ways with each other. Fuyuko was glad he found his place here and even more so as a lieutenant. When her report came to a close Fuyuko noticed how yasu was getting more uncomfortable in her seating, was she not done?
f6fc392ec83d19adb862c41f7c52d243.png

“I...I will be testing!”I… will be attempting my captaincy exam soon. I am unaware of my summons for now.”
Fuyuko's face lit up at this amazing news, her meek pink-haired friend finally made the move to go for Captaincy. The two of them had always talked about their dreams and ambitions when they were alone and to see that she had finally gathered enough courage to do so made her proud. The raven always believed that she had the skills to become a Captain, even if she was a bit of a clutz at times... or hogged all the snacks..or her just being herself. Despite the pride that swelled in her chest, Fuyuko was a bit sad inside her heart knowing if she did pass she would not be able to see her as much anymore. Fuyuko dismissed her feelings and smiled warmly at her friend.
"That's amazing news Yu-chan! I know you will pass with flying colors! Don’t think too hard and give it your all!"
she was rooting for her friend knowing she will get it no matter what, she came a long way to get to this point after all.
The attention then shifted over to the person who was sitting next to her , Lieutenant Omoni Hageshi. The female had great strength and was a powerful fighter, definitely someone you don’t want to be on their bad side. Fuyuko admired her fighting skills, it was more on the brutish side but was still efficient. It seems that her mission in the world of the living didn't go so smoothly. Dispatched to the living world with another shinigami, someone named Oyama Hoshi to retrieve something meant to aid another. Things certainly turned south with the appearance of the literal Gates of Hell opening up, coincidentally it was the very reason Shizuka and some of their fellow members went to Naruki City. Or, maybe it wasn't a coincidence after all?
Hearing that Omoni didn't fail her mission because of this new Lieutenant, Jinnosuke's bones were able to be healed. Jinnosuke, another Lieutenant, not as new as some...but still new, and present. Fuyuko looked over at the blondie for a moment nodding at him in approval. It was good that a reliable someone was able to pull it off so that the mission wasn’t in vain. Listening on to the rest of her report Fuyuko soon became focused on her own report, on how they had lost a fellow member. She was still dealing with the grief of losing one of their own, even though Kuro was more in the background he was a good shinigami who did his job. Despite his antisocial tendencies he would be missed in the10th division. At this point her mind then switches to the ones that were SUPPOSE to go there and aid Kuro and Shizuka, but instead simply vanished into thin air. Fuyuko wouldn't let this slide.
While these thoughts stood at the forefront of her mind she wasn't particularly listening to the rest of what Omoni had said. What did snap her back to the meeting is the ground that started to shake beneath her and before she could focus on where it was coming from Fuyuko saw the round table being completely shattered. She instinctively covered her face with her arms but pieces of splintered wood still managed to cut her on her cheek, her blood trickled down in a thin line. Fuyuko didn’t notice at first, her irritation from the beginning of the meeting returning in spades. Letting out a deep sigh she dusted herself off from the debris and wooden pieces that got on her uniform, she fixed her paperwork but the blood that was on her cheek dropped on the paper staining it. The raven finally lost her . gripping the paper so tightly that it ripped in the middle, her face had gone cold and absent of true expression.
“ WHO THE HELL IS ARASHI SUTA?!”
"With all due respect Lieutenant Hagashi ...please restrain yourself, this isn’t a playground for you to casually destroy. Now that you've made me bleed I'll ask that you please be considerate of others. We aren’t enemies here but fellow shinigami.. comrades. You should focus your strength on the actual threats, our true enemies. Now, I'd like to get this meeting over with and go about my day to plan the funeral ahead of us."
Grabbing a napkin from out of one of the sleeves from her uniform she placed it lightly on the cut. It was nothing serious, though she still gave Omoni a slight glare before quickly composed herself again. She wasn’t in the mood to waste her energy.
”Lieutenant Suta of Squad Five….. Our journey lead us to the 77th District, desolate and barren, no life at all to be found. Once a prospering farm area ran by the locals. Current Captain, Itsuki Asakura was already investigating the 77th District, under reasons unknown to me at the time. Still, my Squad continued on. We followed the river of Blood to a long dirt road which led to an encampment, and much like Lieutenant Yugure’s report, the side of the road was lined with bodies, seventh and second division alike impaled by spikes meant as a warning, a deterrent to any and all threats. Whoever ran the encampment managed to Capture Kagewaki Hōmuru, who was confirmed deceased at the scene, and also Xiaolin who was confirmed badly injured to a critical degree, yet still alive. Both have since been taken to Squad Two, by Lieutenant Yugure’s subordinate.”
Fuyuko shifted her attention to Lieutenant Suta who was about to give his report. Listening to what happened in District 77, the lives lost made the raven sick to her stomach. She recalled how she had spent her time back with the villagers from another district, restructuring the homes that were lost and aiding the injured. She wondered what Captain Asakura was hiding that caused him to make the decision to kill off everyone that was remaining at that base. Was there something he was hiding from everyone else? It all seemed like a guessing game to Fuyuko at this point and there was no point in putting her worries in it as well.
” Ultimately, my team and I failed in destroying the river. In the attempt to freeze the Blood using kido and then release Hado 88 with full incantation from four Kido specialists from the Kido Corps, it was in my hopes that our work was done…”
Her eyes widened at how the situation from searching for answers ended up with destroying the environment in an attempt to destroy... the soul king’s blood? Even more unbelievable was the power of their kido meant to destroy it had instead caused them all to be caved in by the impact of the attack. She looked over at Yasu and was thankful that she was able to survive this ordeal...of course Lieutenant Suta as well but many lives were lost and many were injured. She says nothing regarding the topic of his inner hollow, but was thankful that his Captain was there to help salvage the situation.
"Having to go through that must have been quite the rollercoaster for the both of you...and the situation in the living world as well. Lieutenant Suta I hope for your safety that you can control this...hollow inside of you and not let it control you. If you were to let it run your life, I believe our new Captain Commander will not be pleased given his hate for anything hollow related..I would hate to see you go to waste.:
Fuyuko hated hollows it was the bane of all evil to her. Looking at Yasu she knew that her little pink hair friend was in the same situation with Arashi, and understood if it got to him it could get to her as well. She leaned back in the chair listening to the rest of the report he had to give. The raven waited until he was done, she did agree with Suta that something wasn't adding up and it’s as if they were dealing with an invisible enemy, not knowing who or what to deal with or when they may appear.
She coughed, clearing her throat as she looked down at the hand that was holding the ripped paper — unable to salvage it she simply let it slip out of her hand.
"Lieutenant Fuyuko Kasumi of Tenth Division. My report will not be as long or as detailed compared to those before me, but I will do my best to give my report."
Fuyuko was quiet for a few seconds, attempting to gather her thoughts before she continued.
" As some of you may know, I was sent to Karakura Town in the world of the living to aid Lieutenant Suta who was then a third seat in the Thirteenth Division, against an Adjuchas who we later learned went by the name of...Sword Eater. Once arriving I had used my bankai to immediately kill it and bring Arashi back to the Soul Society."
She pauses for a moment before continuing on.
"After the event that left the Seireitei in shambles and Commander Kagayaki in a comatosed state I had myself along with my division offer aid to some of the closest Rukongai districts that had been affected by the attack. As of recent times however, similar to in Karakura Town, Naruki City also had a visitor from hell.Third Seat Shizuka Hyouzoku had received a distress message from Kuro Yakimono. Answering the call he was dispatched to Naruki where he joined Kuro to combat the threat. He was meant to be joined by two others from our Squad but...they never appeared, something I intend to deal with. I myself had stayed behind as the Captain was busy at the meeting with the other Captains."
Having spoken a mouthful, Kasumi's mind flashes back to that moment in time, concerned with her Captain's health and well being, while also blind to the horrors that Shizuka and Kuro were facing. She shakes her head and pushes herself onward. She glanced around the room for a moment to see if they were still listening, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. Fuyuko felt a bit uneasy about what she was about to inform.
"While I was in the division got a request of approval from Shizuka to remove his seal and granted it since Captain Kagayaki wasn’t present. I decided to make my way to the information room only to find out that Kuro had died in the battle. Shizuka was heavily injured, had the others actually gone when they were suppose to, especially the one who personally requested to go...maybe things would have turned out differently."
It truly was humiliating, informing them of the negligence of the members of her division that contributed to the tragedy. Nothing like that will ever happen within the 10th division ever again, she'd see to that. Fuyuko was not going to let 10th become a laughing stock, a source of gossip for everyone. So long as she was acting Captain, she'd see to it that changes were made.
"I apologize if I come off as angry or short in this meeting, I ask that you please forgive me. I had attempted to get the information to Captain Kagayaki, and perhaps even go to Naruki City myself to assist, but when I arrived I learned I had been restricted from entering the Land of the Living. That's all I have to report as of now."
She folded her arms finally done with her report she nodded to Lady Honoka.

Nothing.
Akarui had come up with nothing, but something had caught her attention. A step forward and Akarui had found herself stumbling rather drunkenly, bracing herself against the wall as if she were highly intoxicated. It was something that she couldn’t fight against, and she absolutely despite it. While it was clear that she’d come across something, the unfortunate usage of Hakufuku would be the bane of her existence at this point.
Her sense of duty had gone to her head, and her anger of being duped had blinded her from acting rashly. The events of the Central 46 had always had her on guard, but it looked as if she’d bitten off more than she could chew. This was something that wounded the sixth seat, and she would forever hold it against her offender if she was able to remember this ordeal in the first place.
“Kono… kuso… yarou...” “You sly shit.”
The clattering of her zanpakuto in the hallway echoed, along with the thudding of her body as her knees hit the ground first before the rest of her body followed. This wouldn’t look good for those of the First and Sixth, especially with someone of her nature being taken out in such a fashion. Whenever she had woken back up, the effects of Hakufuku would have erased the events of what had happened within those few seconds.

”Agh, Asshole! How many jerks are in this squad The only thing good about them is their rank and they have the nerve to talk shit to others underneath them, damn jerk!."
Himari's outburst did not last long before they got the message about the important delivery.
"Gatekeepers at the Senkaimon! I have a message from Kiku from the Fifth Division! We are coming back to the Soul Society within the next hour with precious materials that need to be taken fast and smooth to the confines of the Kido Corps Headquarters immediately. Anyone who stops this task is attempting treason."
After reading the message, he puts his Denreishinki back in his pocket and looks at the gate again before saying with a serious voice.
"We have received our orders from Naruki City! Let's get ready for their arrival."
Slowly, Takashi lifts his hand away from the gate and completely breaks the flow to it from him. His gaze moves from person to person until it stops at Himari and her hand is placed on the handle of the sword and shaking her head. A sign that her feelings are coming to the surface, something that Takashi has not let happen to himself in many years.
Ryu2nd.png

"Himari something seems to have triggered you but you have to stay calm and focus on our orders. Close the gate and prepare for their arrival."
Takashi's voice was calm, yet serious and the gaze from him showed no emotions at all. Shortly after he spoke, his gaze shifted to the two Kidō Corps members that worked with them. Without a word, they lift their hands away from the gate to close it. Shortly thereafter,Takashi begins to walk away from the gate but no further than 10 meters (32.8 ft) and while he takes his steps, he starts talking to himself almost whispering.
''Let's see if anyone approaches or if this will be a quiet day."
In silence, Takashi begins to use Reikaku (霊覚, "Spiritual Sense") and first he senses the reiatsu from Himari and the other two standing at the gate before his search begins to spread over most of the barracks. Every individual in and around the barracks gets Takashi's attention but nothing so far seems to be different from other days.

As Himari was trying to calm herself from her burst of anger, her fingers brushed against the halt of Kōri, a habit she tended to have whenever she was angry or sad. It was as if herself and her Zanpakuto had some what of a bond, and as if the coldness of the weapons spiritual world would spread against Himari’s very body, to calm her down. And it worked every time, even if it was just probably a figment of the young soul reapers imagination.
"Himari something seems to have triggered you but you have to stay calm and focus on our orders. Close the gate and prepare for their arrival."
She jumped, completely forgetting that she wasn’t alone and she was true with her squadmate, Takashi to man the gate. Her anger at Eizoku had blinded her and she blushed in embarrassment. This couldn’t happen if she was in a real battle, and it was something she had to make sure she worked on. She couldn’t get distracted like this if she were to be sent to battle or to an important mission. It could lead to something bad happening.
Or worse, death.
She had a lot to work on about herself, and she hoped she could work on those very soon. So she would nod.
” Sorry about that, Takashi-San. I promise I won’t let my temper get out of hand again.”
She would say this standing up tall, trying not to show how embarrassed she was but it would be hard to hide the flush in her pale skin.
As she would do this, she would look back at Takashi in silence. He was a odd person. She thought herself was odd, but looking at him now and listening to his soft voice and his calm exterior, it sort of made Himari a little nervous. She wondered what was underneath that calm exterior of his.
”''Let's see if anyone approaches or if this will be a quiet day."
She wouldn’t say anything, but she would nod. She was kind of hoping it would be a quiet day, and just having to let a few people in and out. But, some part of her was a little annoyed. This seemed like a task for a child and yea, Himari had a history of being overwhelmed and being a little too into her thoughts in bigger cases, but she wasn’t thinking it would lead to being a gatekeeper of a gate. They had people for this right? Why them? But she kept that thought to herself.
She watched as Takashi used Reikaku a spell she knew pretty well. And she was a little impressed at the ease and control he had at performing the spell. Of course, he was in the 5th, so he had to be a little good at Kidō but seeing Kido in action always excited the young girl. She loved it very much.
” Anything out of the ordinary?”
She’d ask this trying to get out of her comfort zone. She knew if he did find something, he would have told her. But she wanted to start talking. Hoping to maybe get to know a little bit about her squad mate.
