The Captain simmers with quiet rage, still furious at having to lay bare the failures and skeletons within the proverbial closet of his division. It was humiliating, and Kyomu hated being humiliated.
"If it would help, Captain Mukuro, I can lend you some of my troops from the Kido Corps to assist in tracking and capturing the fugitives. With the aid of Kido it may speed up the process so that we can contain those criminals once again."
The Oda is the first and consequently, only person to speak up in regards to the assassin’s report. His offer of assistance is genuine, this much was certain, however...his olive branch extended towards Kyomu was still seen as a stab at his pride. He glances silently and dismissively at the vizard. He didn’t need his help, he didn’t need anyone’s help. The matters of Second Division would be handled and settled by the Second Division. If he had his way, those present would have remained ignorant of such matters.
With his report concluded the Fairy flutters forward.
“Captain Nakamoto of the Fourth Division.”
The gentle Captain announces himself, never one for a lack of decorum.
“The relief station is as busy as ever, and the number of incoming patients never seems to let up. We’ve already reached max capacity a few times this year alone, which is far from normal. This sharp upward trend has prompted some of the medical staff to wonder if an expansion is needed… or a change in protocol…”
There is a brief pause, and then..the unusual calm and soft hearted Nakamoto brandishes a sharpened gaze pointed towards Mahō the Fool. An uncharacteristically aggressive act from the young Captain.
“... to prevent Shinigami from unnecessarily getting injured, and having to be admitted to the relief station at all.”
His burning gaze remains fixed on Captain Kojima, smoldering him in its fury. It's evident that the Dragon is seen in poor light from someone other than the Phantom within these proceedings.
“In more recent news… Lieutenant Jinnosuke Uekū of the 11th Division was recently admitted to the relief station today and is currently in critical condition. In an effort to treat him as I was unable to be present, my own lieutenant has been dispatched to Karakura Town in search of a cure. I have no doubts that she will be successful in her mission…”
And like that, the warm and kind hearted little Yū that everyone is so familiar with returns. Devil Jin, a convict released from the Nest of Maggots, Kyomu is not unfamiliar with this man. When it was appealed for him to be released from his imprisonment Kyomu vocally opposed the notion. Hearing that same prisoner was now in such a state, perhaps the universe was silently agreeing with the Captain and now moving to rectify a mistake long since made.
“...but of course I’ll still be paying Lieutenant Uekū a visit as soon as I can and seeing what I can do about his state. Heh…”
Bright and Chipper, Captain Nakomoto bows his head concluding his report. There is silence amongst the Captains, even the Dragon — clearly singled out by his young peer, holds his tongue. It seems the meeting would cont-
”A change in protocol? What a joke.”
The voice stems from none other than Captain Mukuro himself.
With folded arms Kyomu turns towards little fairy Yū, amber hues sweeping over the others momentarily.
”Those that live by the sword, die by it. No one signed up for this job expecting to remain in one piece all the time. Every soul that has gone through the Academy, that wields a zanpakuto should have already known the risk.”
While Kyomu went unopposed and unchastised from his own shortcomings, it seems he was above or..rather beneath offering this same courtesy.
”If they’re afraid of getting hurt, then too bad. Tell them to hurry up and die so someone who’s willing to put in the work can fill their spot. We don’t have time to coddle weaklings. Stop crying about their booboos, we’re shinigami. We fight, we get hurt. Deal with it.”
The Captain scoffs, if Captain Nakamoto’s previous glare was like an inferno, Kyomu’s was like a peerless blade with a vorpal edge, cutting through the healer from stare alone.
He found it ridiculous that this would even be a complaint worth being brought up, or that Yū would seriously believe they or the commander cared to hear about the whimpering of those getting injured from the job. The phantom couldn’t help that if Yū’s blade was as sharp and as fierce as his tongue and stare, perhaps he could help kill off more of these enemies, to help reduce these…”risks” that could bring harm to the fragile soldiers of the Seireitei.
