”Ah. Captain Nakamoto, it’s nice to see you again,” Nibui replies as the doctor enters the room and slides the door shut. His walk remains uninterrupted, grabbing the wheeled stool placed in front of the counter and rolling it by Nibui's bedside.
“Well, with you getting here well before your scheduled appointment time, I’d hope you’d be glad to see me, aha,” Yū responds playfully, his face still tinted red at the recent news of Omoni’s return. It’s clear the former lieutenant has noticed as he continues…
“Captain Nakamoto, are you alright? You’re a little, red. Maybe you should be the one getting a checkup?
Yū is noticeably startled, surprised that the once reserved and shy Nibui has become so chatty, and to a degree... nosy. Before the young Captain can formulate a believable excuse, their moment is cut short by a disturbance out in the station hallways.
“WHERE IS CAPTAIN NAKAMOTO?!”
… a voice howls from the waiting room. Yū’s head darts to face the doorway, awaiting the frantic Shinigami’s entrance. Pounding footsteps become more and more audible as they approach closer, closer…
‘I guess they found me with no issue…’ the boy thinks to himself, until the footsteps begin to trail off– further and further away until all he hears is silence.
‘Ah… they musta’ missed it.’
Yū turns back to face Nibui, hoping the disturbance is enough to change the direction of their conversation.
“Well, I'm sure someone else will help them. Anyways… I know the nurse that was with you earlier already checked your vitals, so we can just jump to any concerns you may have that we can go over,” the Captain continues, motioning to the bed Nibui is already seated on.
“I mainly need to know if you’ve attempted to tamper with your zanpakutō again… I don’t think we can risk any more irreversible scarring on your part, and that's not even considering the worst outcome which––”
*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*
The door slides open just a peep, just enough for a nurse’s head to fit through.
“Sorry to interrupt. Captain Nakamoto, could I have a word? It’s an emergency,”
… she announces softly yet with great urgency. Prepared for the worst, Yū drops all focus on Nibui and centers it all on the nurse’s next few words. He quickly leaps from his chair, which shoots across the room as he approaches the door, leaning closer in which she understands as her cue to continue.
“Lieutenant Uekū is reportedly in critical condition in his barracks. The 11th Division has personally requested your immediate presence to administer treatment."
“Critical condition? I thought he was occupied with training. Was he recently sent out on an assignment?”
“Apparently, he has been holed up in a bunker, training for the past two months... Nonstop.”
“And that’s what put him in a life-threatening state?!"
“It’s Lieutenant Uekū… are you surprised?”
“Regardless, I mean… w-we’re not a maid service. Why can’t he just come here like everyone else? It’s not like he doesn’t have legs.”
“Actually, both his legs are broken… In fact, all of his bones have been broken, Captain.”
“ALL OF THEM?!?!?”
… the Captain blurts out loudly, stunning the entire hallway and no doubt startling the unsuspecting Nibui. He quickly composes himself and leans back in closer to the nurse.
“All of them? What kind of training is that?! Jeez... Ok, well... C-can’t Lieutenant Hageshī or Kagūwa handle it this time?”
“I don’t exactly believe Lieutenant Hageshī’s form of treatment would be effective in this case… and Kaguwa, well…”
… the nurse stops, glaring at the young Captain. Her expression exudes waves of hesitation and doubt; Obviously, Kagūwa would find trouble to involve himself outside of the relief station, whether he sought it or not and the nurse’s look is enough to convey the message to him.
“Yeah, just ignore that last part…”
… he admits, sinking back into deep thought. A few seconds pass before the Captain comes to a simple conclusion..
“Hmm... it's fine. I’ll check if Lieutenant Hageshī is able to cover for me. I’m sure she can come up with something for Lieutenant Uekū… even if it isn’t ideal.”
… Yū concludes, with a concise head nod. The nurse returns the nod and exits the room, hastily shuffling down the hallways into the everyday commotion of the relief station. In one fluid motion, the Captain’s hand slides the door shut as the other reaches within his haori, retrieving his Denreishinki X; He flicks it on before furiously typing away on the phone’s touch screen.

Heeeeeey, I know this is sudden and you like just made it back buuuuut I need you to swing over to the 11th Division ASAP and check up on Jinnosuke. He has a few booboos that need some attention and I’m kinda tied up at the moment. But I trust you can handle whatever it is… After all, you're my lieutenant!
You’re the best, Omoni! ( ˊᵕˋ )♡
“Aaaaaaaand send.”
Yū now turns back to face Nibui, hastily pacing back over to the chair and rolling it back to the shinigami's bedside. The young Captain plops down on the leather stool and while he may look prepared, he realizes he has completely forgot the point he was working towards.
"Sorry about that, um... where were we again?"
… the doctor questions, struggling to recollect his thoughts.
