Despite her previous emotion, she found herself surprised at the suggestion of splitting up. To Arashi it seemed logical. No need for them both to travel to the same place. A group can be gathered and the order will be relayed, easy. However, this was a chance to see how well Himari viewed others. Even as simple as the task was, traveling to the Rukongai, the task could easily turn gruesome and sideways for everyone. She needed to choose those that will be prepared and ready for any obstacle.
”Right, maybe have a squad would be smart just in case, ”
For a moment, her eyes narrowed. What is the problem now?
”And don't you think it's the other way around, Lieutenant? You were holding my hand after all since you didn't even know your ways to your own quarters.”
Another joke, one that would result in his smile noticeably spreading slightly. He would even let out a small chuckle. Slowly, her wall is beginning to crack. Though it is several layers thick, it is nice to see that he is slowly but surely making progress. She waited for no response, her shunpo giving her the chance to escape any response from him. Quickly after, he departs as well, arriving at the entrance of the Kido Corps as aforementioned…
Entirely different, from the
regular of Squad Five. The professionalism and attentiveness these men show is explicit. They noticed the badge upon his left arm and as their expressions were hidden beneath the garments that cover a majority of their faces, they had a slight sense of surprise that spilled from their eyes. They clearly had no expectation of being visited by a Lieutenant, let alone their own. Two of the four men, step towards the door, while the other bow in tow. The door is pushed open, allowing for Arashi to enter with no issue. Even at the exit of his Shunpo, his steps did not come to a stop; transferring into a steady walk. The dust that carried into the air fell behind him…
The doors, just the same, closing shut at the four guards resumed their positions at the entrance, guarding the secrets and ideals of Squad Five. Men of the same clothing traversed the halls. They even stood in single file lines, all at the ready, focused, alerted to the fullest. Though they never turned their heads to take a glance towards the approaching Lieutenant, they knew he was there. Arashi raised a hand, stopping one of them in their tracks. They turned and bowed.
”Yes Sir.”
”I am Lieutenant Suta of Squad Five. Can you point me in the direction of your leading member.”
A glance to the badge on his left arm is all he needed to know if Arashi meant the title he claimed. With a nod, he stepped to the side, turning and raised a hand in gesturing towards the direction that Arashi should take.
”Straight ahead, Lieutenant.”
He bows again as Arashi steps pass, even returning with a nod as he did. His steps were light, having no sound to bounce off the wall of this building. The men that lined the hallway held their positions, not even flinching or shifting their gaze even as he passed. These men are trained extremely well. Approaching another set of doors that are touched by his hands this time.
More sophisticated than the men outside, these men dressed in blue coats had their faces covered entirely. Even the very Priestess, who he remembered quite clearly from two months ago. Arashi remained at the door, closing them behind his person.
At her very desk, organizing the papers, managing her work quite well. No matter how busy she may have seemed she took the time to raise her head, to see through the helm she wears. Like all the others, she noticed the badge upon his arm and from that distance, she could see the insignia of Squad 5. She stands from her deck immediately and takes steps to move around and personally approach her Vice-Captain.
”Lieutenant, how can I help you?”
Indeed, she recognized his face, even from so long ago. Having kept tabs on her Captain who had been in Squad 12 along with him. She even knew his name, though they had never spoken a day in her life.
”I have two orders for you, from Captain Oda himself. Create a few copies of the Dangai Records during the time of the Koketsu Event. Also, immediately begin construction of the Kido Cannon.”
The first order is taken mentally with ease, but the second, though she did not show it, nor could it be seen, The Priestess held a sense of alertness as her posture straightened. Of course she understood the reasons, the motives, the end-goal of this order. Arashi didn’t want to ask her, but instead he would save the question for his Captain whenever he finished with his duties regarding the later from Commander Murasaki.
”Consider it done, Lieutenant. Thank you,” She replies and bows to him.
Short, but professional, just as the Captain had advised. Nothing more to say, but to return with a bow of his own before he turned on his heel and exited the building as a whole. Making it back outside, Arashi hoped that Himari had gathered the members they needed in order to travel to the Rukongai and complete the second task.
