Joy of Battle
The Kido crashes down upon it’s target, things are going well for the most part as the gears of Tenzen’s mind continue to turn and plot the next move. He had hoped that this attack would slow him down, that it would allow him time to ready his next wave of defenses that would lead way to the next offensive strike. In this time he takes no moment to sense for his allies, by now they should have caught onto the flow of battle, however, the flow is a fickle thing. One moment you have it and the next moment, it's gone.
”Glowing ironclad fire-”
”Glowing ironclad fire-”

He stops mid incantation as his eyes gaze upon the Commander, twenty feet away from him. Incredible, he knew that the spell would not stall him for long but to be upon him so soon was unexpected. The Kido Chief even opted for a spell with a short incantation and to think that it wouldn’t even be short enough to finish. Beneath his mask he grins a mix of excitement and shock as sweat trickles down his forehead from the sight alone. For the Commander to be in front of him like this must mean Captain Yugure was out of the equation even if only for the moment. He had time to focus on the Kido Chief who had been buzzing around shooting at him from afar. The moment the Titan makes even the smallest of movements the Captain vanishes from his sight with Shunpo. Amplified with his Hollowfication his Shunpo propels him into the leagues of masters blinding speed that not even the commander could keep up with. However, he is not running away; he seeks to use this moment as an opportunity to strike.
Crumbling Enlightenment!?
Tenzen reappears high in the air near the ceiling of the barrier that had been erected for their training. His reiatsu erupts, engulfing the entire area as he begins chanting. He saw that grin on the face of the Commander, he knew that look well from other bloodthirsty warriors and he would do himself a disservice if he did not react with the same bloodthirsty attitude. But will he have time? The Commander was upon him before he knew it, how would he react if it were to happen again? Well, to put it simply, he will make more time by delaying the Commander's advance while continuing his chant.
”Glowing ironclad fireflies. Standing upright, silent to the end."
”Glowing ironclad fireflies. Standing upright, silent to the end."

The man who holds the title of Grand Chief of Kido aim’s his Zanpakuto at Higen Kagayaki, Tenzen is in the process of performing Nijū Eishō (二重詠唱, Twofold Incantation; Viz "Double Destruction Chant"). He is not wholly defenseless during this, he anticipates attacks from the rear, his sides, head on, above and below. This seems like a desperate gambit from an outside perspective but despite the sweating and monstrous grin of pleasure etched on Tenzen’s face beneath the mask he is still calm and collected.
”Limit of the thousands hands, respectful hands, unable to touch the darkness. Shooting hands unable to reflect the blue sky.”
”Limit of the thousands hands, respectful hands, unable to touch the darkness. Shooting hands unable to reflect the blue sky.”

Energy, that is more akin to specks of embers, swirls around him at ten different points, the energy is golden in color. The violence that lay just beneath the surface of the enlightened monk rears its ugly head at last. Unlike in past times where he would resent such behaviour he embraces it fully and relishes in it.
”The road that basks in light, the wind that ignited the embers, time that gathers when both are together, there is no need to be hesitant, obey my orders.”
”The road that basks in light, the wind that ignited the embers, time that gathers when both are together, there is no need to be hesitant, obey my orders.”

This spell takes but a few seconds to chant but it may as well be an eternity while in the midst of battle. Time is dilated and painfully apparent when the time to clutch a situation is upon a person. People will crumble, buckle and fold under such pressure negative thoughts abound in their minds. Captain Oda is not such a man to fall to such pressure, the flow slipped from his grasp but he still can read the situation he can still work with what he has. With comrades working with him this becomes even more true.
”Light bullets, eight bodies, nine items, book of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, grey fortress tower.”
”Light bullets, eight bodies, nine items, book of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, grey fortress tower.”

Spells in the Seventies only managed to dirty the commander and stall him for but a moment at a time. This is laughable to Tenzen, to think that even with this Hollowfication his spells would falter like a blunted blade like this, it is almost embarrassing. If Higen Kagayaki were his enemy Tenzen Oda would be nothing but fodder with what he has displayed so far, an ant. He will not allow that thought to pass, he will destroy this entire area and raze it to the ground. Would he truly go this far just to spill a single drop of the commander's blood?
”Aim far away, scatter brightly and cleanly when fired"
”Aim far away, scatter brightly and cleanly when fired"
YES

Theme of Tenzen Oda
”Hadō #91. Senju Kōten Taihō!!” (千手皎天汰炮, Thousand-Hand Incandent Heaven Culling-Sear; Viz "Thousand-Hand Bright Heaven Cannon")
”Hadō #91. Senju Kōten Taihō!!”
Those embers had turned into orbs of golden energy that burn with intensity and ferocity alike. A favored spell of the Captain given its name. The Kido Chief rains down this devastating Kido upon Commander Kagayaki. The previous explosion would pale in comparison to this, the very strength of this barrier would be tested and pushed to its uttermost limit before shattering like a glass bowl hitting the ground. Positioning himself high in the air was more of a tactical maneuver as he himself did not want to be caught up in the blast. If the Commander thought Tenzen would be wary of his comrades, fearful that he may harm them he is dead wrong. They are soldiers of the Gotei Thirteen. They have trained against the Captain Commander for nearly over One hundred years. If they were to crumble and fall now then they aren’t worth the cloth they are clothed in. More than a soldier, more than a killer, Tenzen is a warrior raised to be a living weapon for the Seireitei and Soul Society. “Fight, kill, and destroy at all costs , do not stop until the enemy is gone or until you are turned to dust.”

Reunion!
DING!
Then, silence. The driven and ferocious pounding of metal and metal comes to a halt with a final clash of hammer against blade. What fiery Reiryoku filled the air from the crafts of the Eighth's member are snuffed out, extinguished by a raging beast just beyond the doors of this sole forge. This flood of suffocating presence is the first of two bells that directly heralds the arrival of someone from Nibui's past. However, it is not the first sign of Omoni's arrival and Nibui is well aware of her presence long before she sets foot within the Eighth's barracks.
Bit by bit, she drew closer and closer still, he initially assumed it was simply coincidence, after all these barracks of his rested in same sector of the Seireitei as the Lieutenant's Hall, surely she had a meeting? Eventually it becomes clear that it is not simply happenstance, the path set by Omoni brings her straight towards where he stood. As she arrives she finds Nibui's head craned back, his pitch black eyes already locked to her own as she speaks and as her Reiatsu seeks to impose it's force upon him.
Illustration612.png

“Ueki. Ya made a mess a’ things while I was gone didn’t ya!”
The booming, both familiar and unfamiliar voice of Omoni rings through out the compound and clearly within Nibui's ears and as was the norm for Nibui, he waits until whoever was speaking has finished.
“Who’s ya little friend?”
Ah, he had entirely forgotten about the man behind him, his thought and focus entirely robbed by the woman that had arrived so casually after years of quite literally no contact. Slowly, he draws a deep breath through his nose as his eyes momentarily close, he ruminants briefly, wondering on how he will respond. Of the two women, Omoni and Honoka, who in his past had taken a near matronly relationship with the younger Shinigami, Omoni was the rougher of the two, seeking to do her own forging it seemed. Eventually she would leave Nibui with her role as the Lieutenant of the Eleventh division, something he himself would leave to another. Now she returns with the mantle of Captain, and with that, likely of the division she had left to Nibui so long ago.
After a few moments, his breath held, he exhales out just as slowly as he inhaled. Finally, his words for the new Captain are spoken.
"Omoni. Welcome back."
As he speaks, he doesn't raise his tone as Omoni did, his tone is as usual, calm and as monotone as they come. Instead, he allows something else to speak. As though his voice ushers in a storm, a thunderous clap rings out through the Seireitei, a crimson blaze erupting from Nibui, shapeless and with that, balancing out the pressures emitted from the Captain with a perfect synchronisation of the azure and crimson melding between the two.
Illustration615frog2.png

"A mess? I don't think I've done much to leave a mess, perhaps you mean myself?"
As he utters those words a hand motions to the self-inflicted scar that crosses up along his lips. There was no joke or jest behind his words, he was as honest and as blunt as possible, he is clueless to what the Captain truly alludes to. Soon after, those very same lips curl up into a smirk aimed at the raging Captain. In the turbulent pressure that rains down upon the barracks, Nibui steps forward, walking now towards Omoni with that smirk remaining. Each step unfettered. His arms out spread, Jubokko in one hand and the other open, welcoming.
"It's a pleasure to see you, what brings you here my old friend? You look like you belong in that new haori of yours."

Hidden behind the veil of light. His existence remains absent to this world, but his watchful eye carries on, observing, studying, and undoubtedly planning.
Captain Yugure puts forth effort, managing to grab hold of the Commander, albeit an arm that had been manifested by her Shikai. Smart, and though it would seem her strategy would come to fruition, unfortunately, it was against a man who has not faltered against them for years. Not to mention his indestructible body. With her Hollow mask active, and a Cero brewing within her jaws and discharging, the Commander hardly flinches, hardly stopped by the numerous orbs that begin to manifest around his person due to the efforts of Captain Oda and his sly tactics in using Captain Yugure. The commander continues his assault, his own foot collapsing towards the Cero and towards Captain Yugure herself. She was in danger, and likely she needed help.
Still, Arashi remains concealed…
He trusted in her skill, in her prowess. She’d survive, adapt, and overcome. Arashi could not lose sight of the behemoth, his focus can not and will NOT falter. However, Captain Oda’s spell works as planned, halting the Commander once all nine orbs were formed, even for just a moment, and from there destruction is imminent-
BOOOOOOM
Tomio-7-4.png

Destructive would be an understatement. Still keeping a careful eye, staying on the move, remaining out of reach of the explosion. Arashi could still feel his spiritual power, it still resonates from him. This session is far from over, and the silhouette of the Commander would be a testament to it. In-kind to the cataclysmic explosion, the Commander finally responds. Finally he moves from his position, coming upon Captain Oda with excitement built upon his face.
” Glowing ironclad fire-”
” Glowing ironclad fire-”

Behind his interrupted incantation-
” Bakudo number 63, Sajō Sabaku.” His very words remain inaudible, disclosed only to himself.
“ GAHHAHAHAHA!”
Whether he was impressed or simply enjoying the battle, remains unclear. Like Captain Oda, Arashi did not expect him to engage so quickly. Even though Arashi is not the immediate target, he needed to adapt, just as Captain Oda did. With the elated Commander coming with full force it seemed, Arashi figured that Captain Oda too is filled with excitement, and the two are only joined by Arashi’s own. With Shunpo that likely exceeds the Commander's speed, Captain Oda relocates himself above him, near the top of the very barrier that contains the four of them.
Having fought by his side for so long against the Commander, their teamwork has undoubtedly grown exponentially. Their minds seemingly work in sync as a Captain and his Lieutenant should. In the face of battle, two well-oiled and functioning machines move to compensate for the other and together they overcome any obstacle even if that means taking down the Commander himself. The once unmoving Commander is out-maneuvered by the evasive Tenzen, however, before any thought could pass through the commander turned wild-beast mind; before he can retaliate and chase after him, he is assaulted by a plethora of ethereal binding chains that come at him from all sides, courtesy of Arashi’s constant moving to accomplish this using Shunpo.
A Kido, one of the many spells that represented the way of binding well, these chains when visible coil and wrap around the midsection, trapping the arms in tow constricting the victim. In this case, Arashi utilized this spell not just to this area, but the multitude of chains conjured moved to bind his legs, even going as far as to wrap around the neck and face, increasing in pressure as they squeeze tighter and tighter as Arashi extends his spiritual power into the spell. However, the chains remain invisible, unsensible, due to Kyokko being active all this time and the ability to bend light at his leisure.
Arashi learns from the failure of his last spell, that the Commander’s raw power could easily shatter his Kido. With this in mind, he utilizes his Shikai as a catalyst for this spell once again. As the Commander is likely to begin breaking and tearing his way through the numerous invisible chains, even if he proceeds to shatter through all of them simultaneously, another web of chains is there to meet him instantaneously; Those chains being replaced constantly and continuously making the Commander’s efforts futile, and quickly becoming a nuisance while Captain Oda continues his incantation, but if the Commander figured this to be the only thing to halt and take away his mobility, he was sorely mistaken. Arashi will pull out all the stops to ensure that the power being conjured by Captain Oda would be utilized without interruption.
The Greatest Light-Style Zanpakuto
He dons his mask once again…
” BANKAI! HOSHIZORA YOZORA!”(星空夜空 Lit. “Starlit Night Sky”)
” BANKAI! HOSHIZORA YOZORA!”
Within the seemingly indestructible barrier that is soon to be tested, the world outside is no longer visible. Covered in complete darkness, nothing but stars fill it; as if looking into the depths of space, Arashi reveals his Bankai. Thousands upon thousands of lights litter the space above the Commander and all of its power will be used. A beam of light from a singular star falls at speeds that only light can contend with. It moves to engulf the Commander, dealing no damage, delivering no pain even if capable of doing so to the Titan, but instantly he will find all of his movements being slowed down to mimic the rate of a turtle. Even the use of regulating and releasing spiritual energy being reduced to such levels of speed.
” Light bullets, eight bodies, nine items, book of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, grey fortress tower.”
” Light bullets, eight bodies, nine items, book of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, grey fortress tower.”
” Aim far away, scatter brightly and cleanly when fired"
” Aim far away, scatter brightly and cleanly when fired"
” Hadō #91. Senju Kōten Taihō!!”

” Hadō #91. Senju Kōten Taihō!!”
With the Commander’s actions likely to be momentarily slowed, he will be able to perceive the power that comes from Captain Oda. The inevitable conclusion. The approaching nuclear power. Even though his perception is fast his action will remain too slow to counter or defend himself properly from the incoming blast. A Kido of far greater destructive power, a spell that stands within the 90s level of Kido forged and used by a Hollowfied master. Right before the Hado nears the commander the veil of light that moved to engulf him will instantly ascend allowing for the blast to make full contact. Dispelling Kyokko, revealing himself to be standing near his Captain, awaiting the aftermath... Prepared for whatever may transpire afterward.

" Omoni. Welcome back."
Decimation and Rejuvenation, a duet of furiously potent reiatsu clashed together resulting in a horrific symphony. A show of formidable power clasping hands with one another each presenting a push of their own. Not unlike the two that stood there who called themselves friends, these forces reacted with jubilee having not felt either’s signature in centuries. The earth cracked and waned beneath the weight of their pressure and yet this was only the picture of their greeting. Although there were genuine pleasantries shared between Hageshi and Ueki with objectively open arms it would appear that the Reiryoku broiling inside was ready to lock horns with each other thereby expressing a consistently combative state. To the Captain and Nibui this was par the course whenever they would meet in the past however, something about this encounter was significantly more intense than Omoni recalled. What would have been agonizing for some was a breath of fresh air for her, an electric shock of invigoration and a call to assess this new sense of power oozing out of Ueki. This and this alone indicated to her that she had not been the only person who’d undergone some changes in the last hundred years. By the feel of it, perhaps far before that.
" A mess? I don't think I've done much to leave a mess, perhaps you mean myself?"
There it was, a spark of the past Nibui who would often go out of his way to make passive comments pertaining to his shortcomings. This was snuffed out when the expression on his pale face did not match the words falling from his lips. Though he’d obviously furthered himself from those spots of uncertainty and low self esteem it would appear to Hageshi that he intended to directly or indirectly analuze if she did remember what things were like for him so long ago. Maybe to determine how she saw him since it’d been such a long span of time since the two had reunited. Being blunt had never rubbed Omoni the wrong way. Infact, she preferred it that way as it avoided confusion and it’d be safe to say that this was one of the aspects that Ueki and Hageshi had in common.
" It's a pleasure to see you, what brings you here my old friend? You look like you belong in that new haori of yours."
A simple glance in the direction of the young man interrupted by their reunion and she knew they’d not be responding for some time. An unfortunate effect of her overbearing reiatsu was paralytic and rendered those unable to withstand it without the ability to properly function much less move. Stunned, he’d potentially be there for a day or two so surely he wouldn’t mind if she dragged Nibui away from their conversation not to mention, the eighth would now have a lovely statue to gaze upon. So, as the waves of crimson and blue crashed together she spoke. This time her tone settled an octave down, something a little more casual.
5355015ff523332279055fc9e7c7c919.png

“ Ya think so? I dunno. Not a fan a’ white. Get’s dirty easy.”
This was but one of the factors giving the Captain an uneasy feeling about her promotion. There were multiple issues Hageshi had taken with it although getting her thoughts in order was proving to be more challenging by the day. So she’d opted to handle business than to wade around in that contemplative cesspool. Business that she’d determined Ueki should play a part in.
“ Take me back ta’ the eleventh. I gotta ask ya’ some questions n’ we can see how good ya’ got while I was gone.”
Omoni never asked for anything. Something that Nibui was no doubt familiar with. That woman just spouted whatever she felt that was on her mind and expected others around her to know how to deal with it. Naturally they acquiesced to her requests for fear of a violently belligerent tantrum when in reality the captain most likely would have shrugged her great shoulders and set off to fulfil her demand by herself had she been refused. None denied her and so none would be aware of this. Not great with words, this was Hageshi’s way of inviting him to come back to her division where she could spend time with him, share a meal and test his abilities in an environment she wasn’t going to get flack about destroying which she considered one of the perks of her captaincy. After all, if you owned it then you could certainly break it!
“ I’m leavin’ now so get a move on!”
With that, the captain turned on her heel and began to head off back the way she had trekked. She did not wait for his answer because either way she was going back to the eleventh division with or without Ueki. On one hand the two of them would end up making up for some lost time and on the other hand she would end up, well, lost. What would happen was left solely up to him.

One hundred years of this, and it still seemed as if she’d never learned her lesson on her own limitations, or rather taking into account the strength of her opponents. Fueled by the ultimate drive to win drove this particular little girl to do the insane, even at the cost of her own body, as was clear as the bone-shattering crunch of her mask split apart into millions of pieces as the Captain Commander drives his foot into the path of the cero, splitting it apart; while it burns away at his tattered clothes and minutely chars his flesh, his assault does not stop, and that driving force to harm her body beneath the marsh. Pain shoots down the path of her spine, yet her extreme durability and bodily augmentations does something to save her from what would be radical destruction to someone not of her stature. She was no behemoth like the mountain before her, but she could manage to take immeasurable amounts of damage and continue her assault. The force of his kick sends her spiraling down further into the marsh, and away from the immediate disaster zone that is caused by the plentiful spells casted by the Kidō Chief and her body slips away into the lotus that had lie just beneath her.
A moment like this feels like centuries as the girl regains a sense of her surroundings. She seems to be floating quite aimlessly in her sea of black. Her hair becomes dyed in the red of her own blood as it dribbles from the crown of her head, nose and mouth and begins to stain her shihakushō and ginjōtan. Her gaze seems blurred, and she quietly contemplates leaving the other two to fend for themselves against the savage that has constantly ruined them at any point the four of them step into this place. She makes a motion to adjust herself, and while in dire pain, she chooses to ignore it, and guides her motions outside of her own volition and uses the contents of her zanpakutō.
“Get up.”
“Or what?”

Yasu leans her head back and comes face-to-face with her other half, who meets her gaze with a scowl and nothing less than scorn. The hatred between the two of them is unlike either of the other two vizards. Tenzen Oda has come to accept himself wholly, and Arashi Suta, while still struggling to understand his own, is still on a better path. The two who face one another understand the harmony that is needed between them, and what is necessary for coexistence, yet the battle for control still rears its head every now and then as doubt and failure settles in the young captain’s mind.
“...You really are a fucking loser. Fine, die then; when you do, your body is mine.”
c76f10aeb3a3328ef4259d3aaa66ab07.png

Open Marsh
Yasu scoffs at the empty threat. Her inner hollow was more than well aware of what would happen if she ever managed to lose a hold of herself. It would be then, and only then, Yasu would be retired from the life of a Shinigami by the likes of the Captain Commander. Her body begins to rise to the top of the marsh, the muffled sounds of battle beginning to become clearer as she breaks the surface, the black ooze dripping off her bloodied person. Labored breaths ensue as the adrenaline pumping through her body causes the pain to subside, and with the help of her zanpakutō with Ningyō Ga Nai (人形がない, "Absent Doll"). She possesses the least amount of the Commander’s attention, his bloodlust and warrior blood boiling as he roared for more, zeroing in on Captain Oda with boisterous laughter.
5b34e4ddb4cf732c4cef25f68f66813b.png

Her makeshift arm is free of form. whipping around haphazardly and the rain of black begins to drizzle down from the tall stalks for lotus stems that tower far above any of their heads. Blood drips from her head, and she can only observe from behind as the Commander handles his new prize with a fervor. She observes, just as she had long ago, as the other two vizards begin o finally act on their own behalf. Both respective Captain and Lieutenant work together in tandem, and she could only applaud the years in which they'd spent fighting side by side. However, it was clear that the Oda patriarch wouldn't think twice of using his comrades to defeat the beast after having nearly been caught in the decimation that plagued Higen just moments ago.
Forfeiting her mask, Yasu was left vulnerable as such compared to her peers, but she would make do. Relying on the mask would ultimately cause her to forget her roots if she wasn't careful. The slick tendrils caress her flesh practically holding her up as she forcefully forces her body to move despite the damage done. Damn the Commander for nearly putting one of his weapons out of commission. In his lonesome, Arashi Suta finally decides to move, releasing his bankai and she observes nearly forty meters away from where the majority resided. In bright glory, his bankai was an essential antithesis to her darkness, moving to slow the thundering behemoth that felt nothing but the lust for slaughter.
Raising her hand towards the group, she clenching her fist and the sleeve of her arm bursts, revealing the rippling and tight muscles she possessed and honed for well over two centuries, and drives it down onto the marsh where ripples begin to form, growing larger and larger as they near them in immediate succession, the power of her fist destroying any solid footing that either of them would possess. Even standing on reishi plates, the rise and fall of the waves would cause the immediate ground floor to be eliminated to avoid being consumed by the marsh. It was the least of what she could do, or was currently capable of. She was out of commission for close, physical battle, so in the end she would become the support. Yasu had done what she could when she could, and had nearly paid the price with her life. A weapon, to be used for the greater of the Soul Society was not yet out of commission. If she had perished here, the haori that rested on her back was never hers to begin with.
