“Not my concern.”
More time and days have passed since the last visit, yet making another trip to the World of the living has become seemingly wasteful. However, as part of Division Ten, it is the responsibility of anyone who is a part of this division to keep an eye on this particular city, which Izanagi had done when necessary, aside from protecting Naruki much he could. He still awaits the return of an enemy that has once again not made its presence known back into the human World—awaiting anxiously every second that passes, eager to taste the blood of the enemy he wants and need to hunt and kill. Izanagi's patience was becoming more unbearable these days to where he could or would kill anything that deemed a threat in any shape or form. No matter how weak and insignificant the danger may be. Izanagi was ready to put whatever threat came his way down with a strike of the sword that he carried around on the hip. Some could say that Izanagi's lust for vengeance and fighting was nothing but remnants from the previous division he used to be housed in before being brought to division 10.
His back lies against the rooftop's surface on some random building, somewhere within Naruki City. Both hands had fingers interlock with each other, where they were placed under his soft ruffle black/lavender hair, Izanagi's head using the hands for support to prevent the head from touching the surface. Both eyes closed wholly shut, usually doing this to ignore the constant day-to-day noises such as four-wheel vehicles that constantly make noises with their horns or even disregard the sound of people yelling unnecessarily. Though Izanagi's eyes were closed, he was not vulnerable, for the shinigami had been just lying in this very spot for hours after patrolling the city. He was focusing all of his concentration on sensing the surroundings in the area, picking up tiny reiatsu signatures, which could also describe as weak. Unfortunately, they were specks of reiatsu within humans and no hollows. Nevertheless, it wasn't a lot of these specks, just a small number of them scattered about in the area from where he laid.
Today for whatever reason, the number of hollows has been escalating compared to any other day. Left and right all day so far, Izanagi had been killing hollows, and this has been the first time he has been able to do nothing since arriving. And division ten patrol had been scattered throughout the city of Naruki to keep up with this sudden burst of appearances. So it has been silent since until the loud pinging sound resonated from the inside of the shihakusho. Izanagi reached inside for the denreishinki x, pressing the side of the button with the thump of the right hand. The screen showed a large red dot where a hollow had recently appeared.
“About time.”
Izanagi waited for something to pop off as he was itching to kill another prey, even if the prey wasn't the prey he desired. But, instead, Izanagi's legs pulled into the chest, bending at the knees, no hands involved; rolling back caused all the weight on his shoulders with his rear now in the air and off the ground. Both legs then kicked upwards into the air, making this movement quick and explosive to where he pushed off just shoulder and back alone. All of the momenta caused him to now land in a squatting position straight on the toes of Izanagi's feet. The heel of said feet remains off the ground, and all of this motion was one fluid and quick movement before disappearing from that spot. Body flickered out of view and appeared some distance away, but 30 feet in the air. He was staring in the direction of where this hollow had suddenly appeared. Suddenly, an explosion could be seen from a distance, which caused Izanagi to react by disappearing into a shunpo movement again, a bit faster than his previous steps. He had arrived near a building, one of the tallest buildings in Naruki City. The side of the building he stood by no longer had windows, wholly shattered, but seemingly nobody had been injured from whatever caused it. The stench of the hollow was gone. Just like that, it was gone. Is it hiding? Did it get killed? There was another hollow-like signature on the way here, but nothing was around. Was there a hollow battling for dominance and killed each other? That quickly?
“Impossible.”
Izanagi thought.
The masked scum was here and killed off, and the other signature he sensed had to be the reason. But where did they go? The phone pinged again, but Izanagi didn't have to look; he knew the sound was just another hollow sighting alert. The detection range had expanded further, and just like that, the signature of the next hollow dissipated as quickly as it appeared. Then his phone began ringing, and he was confident that it was just another member of the patrol division calling. Izanagi brought up the phone to the ear, and before he could even say a word, the person on the opposite side was already asking questions.
“Sir. Is that you? Killing all the hollows that quickly? Great job, si-!"
One questioned and praised Izanagi for a job he never did.
“Tch. Dumbass.”
That was all Izanagi said to the shinigami on the phone, and it went silent after that, more likely leaving the shinigami on the other side confused.
“It wasn't me. Now get off my damn line and find out who is. I want answers within the hour."
Izanagi put the phone down and away from the ear. Izanagi didn't complain but was disappointed that whoever had been taking the tiny bit of fun he could have to take a slice out of the small fries to pass the time. But, who or whatever it was doing his job, he wouldn't mind allowing them to continue doing the work. As long they don't get in the way of the main prey he wanted all along. Then, it shouldn't be a problem.....until it becomes one.
In the meantime, Izanagi would find a spot to lie down while waiting to get answers from the patrol unit on who is responsible regardless. Information about the sudden disappearance would eventually need to be added to the report back to the division when asked if there is anything to report and the sudden hollows being killed off left and right. The Gotei would inevitably want some answers, but it wasn't an immediate priority.
