Fools the lot of them. Within the confines of the dust bowl was sure to be death and the utmost form of uncertainty regarding the loss of life. A Shinigami, the ‘anti-thesis’ to the feasting terrorism and general evil that the hollows live to wreak upon the living and dead alike, harboring little feelings of holding back against the race of carnivorous soul eating creatures that dwell in the sands and darkenesses that was recognized as Hueco Mundo. A Quincy, the antithesis to the shinigami, as they continue their struggle to either extradite souls or purify them to allow passage into the Soul Society. An uppity race of spiritually aware humans that seeked to destroy hollows in every aspect of their being, from their soul chain to the brain the Quincy have always held no secret about their reservations toward the brutish race of white-mask clad demons. It truly depressed him, having to fend off such lowly creatures to assert power within the Royal Hierarchy within Hueco Mundo, but he was sent here to terrorize and that is what he shall do. Nothing will stop him from attaining the power he so solely desires, it was all he craved, his thoughts, emotions and very being were consumed with the idea of growing one's internal strength. He wouldn’t allow anyone to deny him.
He laid there in wait for his opponents to approach him to continue the bout, he sensed the shinigami's presence almost immediately as he entered the area, soon he made himself present, hearing him enter his grandiose barrier that helped him be alerted to all sounds. He weighed him into the escape plan as well. As Blatz made his move, they reacted almost as soon as his body had shot up from the grounded grater in which he laid in. Releasing his reiatsu into the air, losing a dog whistle like sound upon anyone in the vicinity, freezing the sudden movements made by the Shinigami and Quincy. Getting air underneath him as he flapped his wings, catching the dust that still flowed in the cloud and wafting it into their faces, momentarily giving Blatz a window of opportunity to dodge the following attacks, blinding them from his position and altering the trajectory and accuracy of their attacks.. The shinigami appeared to have a device that enabled him to not be affected by his reiatsu, this was useful but would prove un-useful for where his eyes were concerned. Given the way in which he decided to attack, the Shinigami would most surely be blown away by the sound wave, a frontal assault such as this would never have worked on a hollow as skilled as this, even with speed such as his. More than likely flying back fifteen or some odd feet assuming nothing were to break his body's trajectory. He noticed the Quincy take a small step back before leaping backwards and being caught in the sound blast, but not without sending back an attack of his own, charging lightning once more around himself and forming his reiatsu into that of the jaw of a large serpent. It's our fangs long and thin like paraplegics legs, its large maw opened with vigor but even this large entity had not truly followed its original course. As Silas had removed his glasses prior to facing down the hollow so closely, his eyes were more than likely to be blurred by dust and debris wafted by the white clad beast.
The snake snapped forward and attempted to close its jaw and teeth on the body of the hollow as an act of electrocution. Again, this was not a matter of speed, but resourcefulness. The snake now curved to the right side of his body instead of a straight on ‘bite’, the white bat now quickly closing its wings to prevent any more air to be caught in his large bided body. Small time remaining to dodge now, with un erect wings he leaned to the right side of his body mid-air, opposite the large snakes maw into a barrel-roll, then into standing on both legs and leaping off them again into flight, getting higher up into the air in an attempt at escape. A straight up fight isn’t in his favor, he needed to tire his opponents out some before he could really go in for the kill. But who would last longer, it, or them?

Close… Oh so close.
Had it not been for that brilliant light that split a portion of the sky apart, or even the vicious gusts of energy arriving from this tear in the night sky, he would’ve enjoyed his meal thoroughly, uninterrupted. Alas, that pressure was enough to distract him long enough to lift his gaze and feel the hair on his body rise in response to this ominous being that made itself known with no hesitation upon her arrival. These were the individuals who were supposed to do their jobs and save him before he turned into this… this thing. Though the beast might not have known this, they did.
The lack of them doing their jobs is what caused this.
Low to the ground, practically resting on top of what would’ve been his second soul, the surge of death that this towering woman wore on her sleeve was so tangible, but his blood was pumping, and the hole where his heart should have been was aching. However, the sudden pressure of cold metal against his mask rocketed him away from the fierce blow dealt by the female Shinigami. The ground beneath them leveled even further than it had been from his raging smash earlier, dust clouds hiding the three of them for the time being. Even as he reeled back, something had stopped him, the grip on one of his arms tight as to hold him in place, but the impending result was far too taxing to take head-on, and so he tore his body away, leaving his arm behind to take the impending rage of the bull.
With a hold still on that soul, both he and she fled that direct disaster scene with his new arm immediately regenerating upon its collapsing, and followed the original path that the blow had dealt, using that momentum to propel himself away from the masses once he’d landed fifteen meters down the road, and out of the cloud of debris, only getting farther and farther away from the opposing parties of Shinigami and Quincy.
"Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!!" A noise cried out over their heads, and he skidded to a stop around twenty-five meters away from the impact zone, catching sight of a figure looming overhead, waving her arms around in sequenced moves. With as rough as they were being with him, that only meant that something else was coming. Anger built up, and the grip he had on his former lover had caused her to cry out in pain. “Look upon yourself with horror-” Whatever it was, he couldn’t be caught up in it. With his monstrous strength, he whipped his occupied hand flung the mangled soul right towards the caster Shinigami at blinding speed, cutting off that caster before she had any chance of finishing her spell. Whatever she had planned, the soul was in the way and upon the wicked release, he returned to his fleeing, taking a hard right turn into a nearby house, and crashing right through it and the several others behind it.
Chaos and destruction only grew. Surely, the Shinigami and Quincy would find themselves preoccupied with those that he’d harmed on his warpath, and well enough let him getaway. Those unknowing and spiritually unaware individuals would be caught, sleeping, or awake, falling victim to the rampage of this single hollow.

Limp and lifeless, the arm still in Omoni Hageshi’s grasp dropped to the broken ground. An irritated grumble escaped the woman. The line had gone slack and there was nothing that a fisherman like herself hated more than that. As the dust exploded around their clash and the Hollow was forced to retreat, as she ran after him she dug around in her bosom until she retrieved two lengthy cigars. Omoni placed them each into her mouth and instantly their ends flared to life and began to emit plumes of smoke which escaped from the corners of her snarling lips.
dbadf80a3002aa4c43e8fdc3efa3ddac.png

“ Where in the hell d’ya think you're going?!”
Many times before then, Omoni had lit up thousands of them and most commonly on the field of battle. Times came when they were simply a manner of soothing her ferocious temper but then there were times when they provided aid during a fight or two. These were no ordinary smoke sticks. Having always had an affinity for gardening, Omoni had applied her horticulture knowledge towards the medicinal nature of Fourth Division. Growing her own special herbs, she created a series of cigars which bestow the indulger with temporary abilities they would not possess otherwise depending on the nature of the herbs. In a lot of cases, Omoni was known to share them with those she considered comrades but for the most part she kept her private stash to herself. These two were among her coveted collection and as she bulleted out of the cloud of debris to pursue her target, they awarded her with their properties. The first gave her a torrential boost of speed. It was speed in her movement, reflexes and velocity that allowed the large woman to cross the city like a comet after the monster. Omoni propelled herself from the streets immediately after the Hollow disappeared around the corner.
On the rooftops, she soared through the air and she noticed the mangled soul being thrown at Oyama. It did not alter her course. Furthermore, she did not stop to see if the thirteenth division member could handle it. This was because Omoni had faith in the girl and no time to ponder if she could relieve the soul’s suffering. After all, it did not escape Hageshi that at the end of the day the reason that this was happening was because some Shinigami had not done their job. Of course, she found this extremely frustrating but in the moment there was no room to inhibit her mindset with that nasty fact. Not now at least. For now, as she barreled after the Hollow, Omoni would have to trust that Oyama could handle it and catch up to her to help bring it down. All the while, expecting the girl to know that the Lieutenant had not abandoned her to her own devices even though that is exactly what she did. Quickly, it became obvious that the Hollow’s actions had put human families in danger. She could only expect that the beast assumed she would stop to keep them safe instead of tailing after him but, unfortunately for them all he would be wrong. Under any other circumstances, Omoni would have stopped to make sure that the humans were not harmed but right now...the most important thing to her was getting her hands on that beast. If she did not, if somehow she failed...No. The woman refused to entertain a single second with such a thought. There was not a sliver of the brutess that believed losing was an option.
Right now, all of her focus had to be on the task at hand and ignoring the victims was regrettably necessary.
Apart from the increase in her speed, the second cigar resting between her teeth had also given Omoni it’s assets. This time, her vision and senses were what benefited by allowing her to recognize and track not only the spiritual power of the fleeing target but those Quincy that Oyama had mentioned earlier during their journey to Karakura. It satiated Omoni to the point she was able to continue charging away. The chances that those spiritually aware humans would allow innocents to be destroyed were slim to none. If they had been waiting around to blow the Hollow away, then they were there on business too and whether they liked it or not it would appear that she was leaving the dire needs of the humans to them and all that they could do. So long as they did not interfere in her ability to catch the twisted soul then she saw no issue with either of them stepping in to protect their people. In fact, she was counting on it. Not that she would say a word to them to indicate this before flashing off into the night.

The Fourth's Lieutenant had been able to get a lay of the land as she followed the Hollow from above. As fast as he went, she matched him and could tell just ten meters ahead there would be a clearing approaching. It was actually a large playground meant to entertain children but it would provide sufficient room for her to put an end to his running.
“ Pulverize and Purify, Namakizu! ”
Hageshi’s body surged with energy and sent her flashing forward in order to gain those ten meters ahead of his path and she leapt up high into the night sky while blue flames enveloped the knuckles on her hands. There she could see him bulldozing along through houses, so she brought her arms back overhead grasping a club covered in spikes now and then with a great grunt she thrust it downward. At the moment, Omoni was approximately fifty feet from the ground which was too far to do any direct damage to harm him but that was not what she was attempting.
The shine of the moon was suddenly extinguished. It’s light was snuffed out by the silhouette of a truly gargantuan weapon that had, without warning, expanded to an overwhelming size. Just as fast as she had positioned herself, somehow despite it's monumental size it’s two hundred by ninety dimensions plummeted down in a heartbeat. It was timed perfectly with when the Hollow might emerge into her midst. Namakizu crash landed ten meters in front of him, attempting to seal off his escape with it’s girth but the woman was not satisfied with that. It was clear that the Hollow wasn’t going to sit still for her to nicely cuff it and begone so incapacitating it and holding it for when Oyama could manage to catch up to them was among the highest of priorities.
Without hesitation, the weapon shrunk to normal in the blink of an eye and was now coming at him over the Lieutenant’s shoulder with alarming momentum who had traveled to the ground with her Zanpakuto. The intention was to connect with his skull and with any luck, knock the sucker out but now that she was present in the line of fire Omoni Hageshi was not going to let the Hollow loose easily. If somehow he managed to avoid her strike she would have a multitude of others prepared to confront him with.

“Look upon yourself with horror-”
A body was hurled at more specifically a soul that had been the victim of that hollow they needed to hunt down. That soul managed to hit Oyama causing her get knocked off balance, no reaction catching the soul, however once she got her bearings back, she quickly looked down to the soul that was falling, and falling quite fast. Her body disappeared and reappeared just below the soul; her arms extending outwards to catch the soul into her arms as they both fell.
Oyama would hit the ground first with the soul safe in her arms; both were thankful for something, Oyama for the fact that she could withstand falls like this, and be relatively okay, as for the soul in her arms? Probably thankful that she was away from the hollow. Oyama then shook her head as she would push the soul up and off of her, before standing herself. Her eyes shifted down to look at the soul in front of her, while her hand reached towards her zanpakuto, pulling it out from the scabbard, though she wouldn’t point it at the soul.
Despite this the soul had a frightened look upon her face, to which Oyama just smiled, as she kneeled down to the soul, with a smile.
“Now I know this is confusing times for you but, I can tell you this, you’ll be sent to a better place where stuff like this won’t happen.”
She couldn’t exactly say that “life” could be better for her in the soul society but it was going to be far better than what was currently happening, along with the fact that she won’t have to deal with hollows or become one. So Oyama moved her arm forward with her zan’s pommel lightly pressing against the head of the soul.
Shortly after lifting her zanpakuto away from the woman’s head a symbol appeared in the form of her her hilt. Then a glow would begin to disintegrate the soul however there was no pain on the woman’s face; it seemed to relieve her of any worry, as she began to disappear into the soul society. A new life for the woman, certainly better than the current situation at had.
Once the soul had fully disappeared Oyama reached down to her phone, pulling it out and looking through the various apps, before finally finding a mass message system for the division. There she began to type out her message as quickly as she could, as she wanted to get back to the Lieutenant.

Quote:“any and all available shinigami please make your way towards Lt Hageshi and myself”
Hopefully there would be someone to come and assist in this capture, she left out the detail of capturing a hollow if only to make it seem like she hasn’t gone mad. She now had to find the Lieutenant, and that wasn’t too hard as a wave of spirtual pressure could be felt surging through the area. This raised her concerns as she again used shunpo to appear high above the area.
Destruction of several buildings, now her concerns were for the humans in those houses, their lives were at danger as well, but it became apparent that they needed to end this as quickly as possible to stop a good amount of destruction. Along with the cost of repair such infrastructure, was going to rack up; though that was something for them to figure out after, for now? she could only think of getting a larger number of 13th division to come to the world of the living to help clean up the area, and bring in souls to the Soul Society; and again she reached for her phone this time sending out a message to 13th division.
Quote:“3rd Seat Oyama Hoshi, requesting a group of unseated members and one seated officer to Karakura town for immediate clean up, bring Kikanshinki’s to memory wipe the humans. Be advised there are quincy in the area, do not engage with any of them, unless nessicary. Two hollows are currently being engaged, proceed with caution, orders are to clean up, and memory wipe.
This also served as a way to show the quincy that the Shinigami were still in fact around and alive as ever, readying to do their duty, hopefully though this wouldn’t cause tension to build between the two races; it was a tight line to walk with the two races, hopefully they wouldn’t have to fight just yet….
Now back to the Lieutenant and the hollow… if they were going to get anywhere with this hollow it needed to stop moving, but with their high speed regeneration any limbs that could be cut off would instantly grow back… However Oyama had a counter to this. She still had her zanpakuto drawn out, it was time to find out what the blood Panda meant by different.
“Nodonokawaki o iyasu Blood fiattopanda”
Now… the look on her face was that of disappointment and shock, as only the handle of her blade extended. She stared at it for a moment, before shifting her eyes back to the situation at hand, For now she would keep herself up in the air to see where the hollow would run or stay near the hollow, in either way she would use another shunpo to get behind it and aim to slash away at the ankles.

… a nod of thanks - into the light only for his eyes to be accustomed to the new scenery, the transition being quite the fast one. Currently they stand upon the remains of a street, the Senkaimon having thrown them quite deeply, yet keeping some distance away from the flames of war, as a poet might even say.
It is here that Kyo's eyes feel as if sharpening, his heart beating faster, his body finding the golden balance between calm and tense and the most important of all, his mind devouring the information being fed by all the senses.
'Hmm.'
His thoughts feel his head, his eyes looking about as the rest of the Unseated Shinigami appear one after another.
They are all nervous, the reason as to why fairly simple.
The devastation - even for someone lacking the capability to sense Reiryoku - is quite clear, as energies collide all around.
Nonetheless, he separates his mind into two tasks. One task being to always sense the various colliding energies in case anything comes nearby.
As for the other task, all he has to do is turn around.
Kyo has his back towards the devastation, his eyes affixed at the following Shinigami. He gives a warm smile, something that doesn't agree with his character, something that those that know him closely understand that is not him.
And yet, he smiles.

A smile has the power to calm someone, especially if that smile comes from someone that is higher from another

Or so it is said.
This time, though, it seems that the smile brings forth the calming effect it required. The smile remains for a minuscule amount of time, as the 13th Division's Unseated Shinigami have their focus upon Kyo.
His lips part, his voice filled with the gusto from before - now filled with something else too, something undefined yet calming.

"As everyone knows, we are the clean up group. That doesn't mean that we need to join the fray."

He smiles once more, his pause to show them that it is a perfect reason to relax. Only for Kyo to continue.

"While we shall try to abstain from any and all fights, as the clean up group, that does not mean that we are safe. Sadly, it is the exact opposite."

Once more he pauses, the members gulp lightly their tension rising once more.
And then he smiles.

"Hollows. Quincies. Shinigami. Humans. Souls. Within this battlefield we find ourselves surrounded by those beings. Some are enemies. Some are neutral. Some are allies."

It is here that the Shinigami once more relax, Kyo's voice been filled with a hint of care.
They even nod, wondering how this will continue.

"We are all Shinigami. We are all soldiers. Our task at hand is clear. Our duties noble. And we shall see our friends. Later."

His final smile, as he turns around, his face once more devoid of feelings.
The fellow members nod, having finally reached a balance between being tense and calm. It is, after all, for a noble duty and a clear task that they are here.

"Let Hollows come. Let Arrancars come. Let the ruler of Hueco Mundo himself come. I shall stand guard. I shall be the last to leave. And you shall live. Mark my words."

His voice now filled with dread. His face still void of any and all feelings, yet, with Chūkū Ha held within his right hand, he is ready.
It is clear, as those following behind him can see and feel their hearts beat stronger. His words are true. While their minds are filled with thoughts that deem Kyo a hero, Kyo himself is anything but that.
Former prisoner of Maggots Nest. Former member of the 11th Division. It is within his core, embedded so deeply that one might be unsure if this is the true face of the Shinigami dubbed Shinjitsu Kyo, or if it is a facade that hides something even more sinister.
Yet, all that is true, is that Kyo himself enjoys fighting. Fights are a place where his mind is always working, focused upon the various tasks at hands.
And so, he proceeds to walk, his steps slow and steady.
The surrounding Reiryoku and anything that houses Reiryoku within it, feel as if it tries to move slowly and gently towards his being - his Reiatsu fully emitted at a level that will not create issues for his following fellow Division members, yet ready come alive at a single notice of anything happening.

'I wish I was alone right now. Towards there the party seems to be live, yet that translates to `Dead Unseated Shinigami, boo hoo to the…` Hmm?'

Was it a miracle? Was it a divine intervention? Nobody knows. Not even Kyo. But it was in that moment that - while being nearly blind when it comes to sensing Reiryoku - that he found an area with a very lighter Reiryoku concentration.
He smiled, his smile now a genius smile - actually void of feelings.

"We will move a bit faster. Our target is the area with the smaller concentration of Reiryoku. Stay grouped up, two steps away from each other at all times and always stay vigilant. We are 18 in total. If anything happens, you are to group up in units of 4, as the remaining Shinigami will be grouped with me. You are to abstain from fighting, your focus to use the Kikanshinki, as well as performing Konsō at any moment you are capable to. And never, I repeat, never forget to stop sensing for any enemy presences."

Unlike before where his words had a warmth to them, now they were filled with a void - cold, clinically so.
And yet, this cold shower is what is needed to ensure the actions of the members, their actions fast and precise. Teams formed within but three seconds in total, as they all keep a faster than walking, slower than running pace - speed being an element that a hidden and stealthed enemy can utilize amd pounce upon.
And so, they make their way towards the area with the smaller quantity of Reiryoku. Towards Katsuo Oda's area.
