SHIIIiiing!
The blade passed flawlessly through the soul reaper's image. As sharp as the blade was, there was no resistance against the metal, no blood stained the cool steel, the blade itself devoid of the warmth that comes with passing through a living body. The creature's massive skull, glanced over its left shoulder, best it could while devoid of any visible neck.
"Huh? Whaz-YOW!"
The creature cried out, a glimpse of light followed by a piercing searing pain within its right shoulder, the light and pain practically occurring synchronously with one another. A visible hole present within its flesh. With blade still extended the Hollow hopped from one foot to the other, though it was difficult to tell if this act was one birthed of pain, anger, or sheer annoyance. It was almost as if the creature was throwing a tantrum. In the midst of the Hollow's fit, the hole present within his shoulder had grown smaller within a moment, smaller still the next, before ceasing to exist altogether. The sparse rays of light, offered by the slowly setting sun caused a gleam, a shimmer to refract along the entirety of Sword Eater's body for the briefest of moments; shown like a pristine blade of the highest quality. The extended blade was no longer present, though possibly retracted back into the heartless creature's body, there was no visibile evidence of such an event ever taking place.
Swiveling on its feet, its glowing yellow eyes leered up towards the hovering Soul Reaper, nostrils flared. The shinigami had earned the ire of Sword Eater. Light once more refracted off the Hollow's form as the Soul Reaper held its partially drawn blade, and within that same, instantaneous ephemeral moment, the nameless Shinigami was face to face with a blade. Mere inches from piercing through his skull, hardly a meter's worth of space separating blade from flesh, and less than a fraction of a second before steel drew blood and pierced through bone, continuing through the opposite end of the boy's skull. Had the hollow launched a blade? Or had the creature merely extended it from his body or any one of its limbs? It was difficult to say, and the annoying soul reaper certainly did not have the time to simply gander and assess. A moment's hesitation, an instant of idleness, a single lapse of judgement could spell the shinigami's very end. Along the bladed edge of the executioner's blade, stemming from its very tip, impossible to perceive with the naked eye, and perhaps even the most astute of observers; an unnerving wavering darkness flowed along the steel-like blade, flush against the unnatural metal that composed it.
If this Soul Reaper believed himself versed and learned in the hollow's abilities, then he was certainly in for the harshest of lessons. There was much more to Sword Eater than meets the eye, and a reason he was so feared by both Shinigami and Hollow alike. Saliva continued to steadily drip from its almost, perpetually open maw, mouth constantly watering, the hollow ever hungry for power. Though this shinigami could hardly account for a meal to abate its appetite, he would certainly do for a little snack. He couldn't WAIT to get a taste of this zanpakuto. A disheartening grin gracing its massive visage, eyes narrowed in euphoric delight.

As always, Arashi heeded the warning Hoshizora gave to him. Even at this point in time, Ashi had an understanding of his kind and gentle nature. His foes could easily see this, or rather they did see it as a weakness. This positive and optimistic nature that he carried his entire life. It made no sense to change now. The again, he hasn't experience a traumatic situation to make him pull a 180... At least not yet.
"I hear you clearly, Hoshizora"
His attack is successful! Piercing his foe with both speed and natural power behind it! However, the creature's reaction was something. Both childish and ridiculous even Ashi's eyes begin to open a little bit having been nearly completely closed this entire time, to witness this temper-tantrum. He didn't show disgust or worry, his expression remained the same. Even so, Ashi couldn't tell if the attack caused him to act out of pain, anger, annoyance or any other emotion... This Hollow is surely peculiar in its own right! Its nature clearly made him dangerous alone and that is just an understatement. Despite the blade tricks he exhibited, he also displayed another ability. Regeneration, a skill that Hollows, Adjuchas, and Arrancar could possess. Very annoying indeed! Though, Ashi did not seem worried in the slightest, his natural smile made sure to set that tone.
"So, healing abilities and blade tricks. Interesting..."
The blade on its arm had disappeared and so for now, Ashi concluded that the creature is able to retract and release the blades at will! However, the Hollow had a more menacing look now, looking up at him as he turned to face Ashi! His once opened eyes returned to their natural state, nearly closed, but still able to see quite clearly with no trouble. Light seemed to refract off its body, which is rather odd, but maybe it meant something? But poor Ashi wouldn't have any time to assess this since he came face to face with another one of the Hollow's blade attacks. His body simply reacted, but on his own accord, simply instinct! He slipped the blade, tilting his head to the left, whilst moving his body out of the way towards the same direction! Strands of his hair flew into the air, the blade noticeably cutting through it. His attack was faster seemingly, giving no warning, no ideal point of being released. However, that did not throw off Arashi's combat experience, not one bit!
If able to dodge, then one is able to counter strike, so he had to capitalize by drawing his already partially drawn sword with a reverse grip! He drew his blade so fast that if one blinked, they would not catch the strike until the motion met its end in a controlled and swift manner! Ashi performed a horizontal slash through the air, immediately after evading the blade attack from his opponent, ultimately leaving the Hollow no room for a second action! Evidently, his strike could not reach the Hollow from where he was, but he released yet another laser of light that stretched 50 feet in length and this time, moved as fast as the speed of light! In addition, it is as thin as a string and carries the strength to cut through solid surfaces and high levels of spiritual energy based attacks(level 60 to 70 kido). Another created skill in his arsenal, Rēzāsurasshu (Laser Slash) as well as the last attack, Kōsen(LightBeam). He aimed the attack for the torso of the hollow, to literally bisect the poor creature. How would the healing ability help it crawl back from that?
In the midst of his attack, Arashi couldn't help but feel this unnerving darkness that resonated from the Hollow's attack just now. Maybe it was nothing, but still he could not dismiss it so easily.

Soul Reapers, always so proud...so arrogant..so self righteous...so pathetic. They flaunted their positions as if it mattered to anyone beyond their realm. Fickle warriors with feeble blades, martyrs to an obscure cause...pigs to the slaughter.
Without any visible cue, a hint of forewarning the blade had closed the gap between itself and the Shinigami. An instinctive fear commanded the male's body, a will to survive forcing his body aside. Strands of hair were cleanly cut as the soul reaper as he just barely shifted to the left. Minimum movement for a timed evasion, it should have been enough. As the blade soared head, a second blade immediately jutted out from the initial one, just as the shinigami had made his movement, and from that blade another, jutting out from the length of the second formed blade, the male's left thigh right in its path.
Within a instant the blade had branched out, each new figurative branch matching the speed of the parent blade. The man's reflexes were sharp, and had just barely spared him from being run through once, how now would they fair against the sporadic assault waged against him? So close the blades were, he could clearly see his image reflected along their pristine surface, threatening to impale him in nearly the same instance of his timely dodge. He thought he had gauged the creature's ability from merely being able to launch surprise attacks with blades birthed from his body. Then he thought he understood yet again as he witnessed the Hollow's remarkable recovery. He then faced the sudden, unprecedented acceleration of the blades' extension, and now he was unexpectedly forced to endure the branching of the blades.
Sword Eater appeared as little more than a simpleton, and..for all intents and purposes, he was. He was no charismatic leader, nor was he a cunning mind. He was a creature born of instinct, and ruled by it. Despite his shallow intellect however, others knew that soul eater was strong. He was unpredictable, and defied even the most well planned plans. Though many knew of him, their understanding of the creature varied from person to person, race to race. Each one only ever holding a fraction of the truth regarding the drooling monster. What more secrets lay within his body? What was the true nature of his power? And how frightening would it be, should he be liberated from his mask and ascend into the ranks of Arrancar?
The Soul Reaper had to be swift on his feet, and keen of eye. Though he has already inadvertently aided Sword Eater in growing stronger in this confrontation. Though not known amongst the Soul Reapers, a handful of hollows knew, Soul Eater was best dealt with in the very start of the confrontation. The first blow needed to be the last to put him down, or send him fleeing, a battle of attrition would only work in the monster's favor. It was utter folly for this Soul Reaper to not only squander the element of surprise with so flashy an entrance, and even his opening gambit against the creature. It was a mistake he would come to realize and regret with every passing moment of this confrontation.

Indeed! If it wasn't for Arashi's combat experience and sharp reflexes, he would have been KIA! However, the Hollow would make in very well explicit that Arashi did not yet have a complete understanding of what it could truly do. More tricks! Surely, he started seeing a vague or rather a very small portion of his own creative intelligence with in this creature. The original blade that managed to cut through a few strands of hair, juncture with not one but two more blades! Unable to begin his aforementioned action, his peripheral vision aided in his new action to respond to the attacks coming at him! He still continues to draw his sword a she had initially planned, but instead of in a Horizontal fashion, he moved it in a way that he would easily make contact with the two incoming blades as he moved backwards across the air seamlessly! Upon doing so, his spiritual pressure increase considerably at the call to his Zanpakuto...
"Shine, Hoshizora..."
His release phrase being almost inaudible to ears of his foe, if it even had any based on the appearance! The sword flashing a bright golden light that encompassed a great deal of the area around him. Easily enough, it would seem as though the Hollow would be looking directly into the sun, should it have its eyes trained upon him therefore blinding the Hollow severely! Whether stunned by the light or not, Arashi's sword transformed in an instant while in motion! The blade becoming compacted with intensified raw energy, giving the blade itself the cutting power to cut through virtually any solid surface as well as powerful spiritually based techniques(Level 70 to 80 Kido). The Hollow ultimately would find its impressive blades, split in two by the sword. He instantly utilized Shunpo before a single second could pass where the finishing step put him behind the Hollow! It is this point that Arashi's would capitalize on the blinded foe should he be exposed to the flash of light, but Arashi seemed to move anyway with the intent to kill!
For a brief moment, his smile wasn't present, his eyes shown an intense stare, a resolve that meant business! His spiritual pressure refined and completely controlled as he performed consecutive strikes from nearly every possible angle to the blind side of the Hollow. Each strike performed with the intent to kill and leave the entirety of the Hollows body in pieces and the Hollow would find even its mask destroyed in the process! His right hand reached over in the midst of his actions, gripping the scabbard and crushing it entirely with its grasp with minimal effort as the scabbard began small points of light to hover around his body.
It is to be noted that, Arashi's feet never touched the ground even in his new position. Just two feet and a half off the ground at this point, standing upon yet another invisible platform.
"Oh my!"

TIIIiiing!
The sharp sound of metal striking metal reverberated within flame colored skies, faintly drawing the ear of humans in the distant. They were uncertain about the source of the sound, several digging into their ears, rummaging about believing the ringing to be nothing more than their own body.
Instinct. It was what drove the Hollow, and ironically enough, it was what was barely letting the Shinigami hold his life. Whatever the Soul Reaper had in mind, he swiftly understood on an instinctive level that he'd need to shelve such plans. Dumb luck, good fortune, a fluke, it could be any number of things, but it was fortunate all the same for the male, having already had his hand on his blade. Just barely able to avoid the first blow, he narrowly succeeded in avoiding being impaled by the twin blades jutting from their predecessor, but not without a price. The force met with the shinigami's blade from the hollow's blade was enough to send the shinigami hurtling back several yards and towards the earth, crashing into whatever adjacent buildings may well be within his path.
It seems the Soul Reaper had not quite understood it, or perhaps it was merely something he was not accustomed to facing himself. The Shinigami's luminescent attacks were fierce, and fast to boot, practically moving at light speed. There were perhaps plenty opponents would be hard pressed in defending against them. The speed in which these blades had extended, and the speed of the first blade's retraction all matched those displayed by the male's light based attacks. As frightening as it was for an attack composed entirely of energy to travel at such a rate, then how much more frightening was it for a blade to be able to match this without compromising the integrity of its strength?
A normal blade would undoubtedly relent and snap in half if met with such a swift and powerful strike, so too would the blades of the lower seated shinigami who toted about their zanpakuto. There was no telling the caliber of this current Shinigami's zanpakuto, for the male's sake it would be best if it was of a higher caliber than he himself. If unable to endure this blow, it would mean a sword now snapped in two, effectively halving the fighting potential of the dog of the Soul Society while also continuing on to puncture through flesh and bone alike, impaling the male cleanly through. If the Soul Reaper's sword could hold out, the male still would need to endure the punishment of being hurtled a good distance, colliding into physical obstruction after obstruction.
If he didn't know at first, he understood a little better after the first exchange, and perhaps now understood even more. Sword Eater was indeed strong, a creature worthy of being deemed a threat.
"WEAK! SO TOTALLY WEAK, AHKAKHAHA!!! HURRY UP AND DIE SHINIGAMI, I NEED TO EA-Huh? Can he even hear me? Where'd he go?"
The monster blinked, coming to his rather dull senses somewhat. If only his mind was as sharp of his blade, though perhaps it was the fortune of Hueco Mundo and Soul Society alike that he remained simple minded.
