Oh Hibiki had something in store for the beast when he reeled his maw back to chuckle. Hibiki didn’t waste any time at all as he saw his opening. The beast exposed its neck just as it tilted its head back to laugh and with that Hibiki was on top of him without a moment of hesitation. A culmination of both zanjutsu and hoho as a wealth of speed erupted from his legs. A single step with both hands placed firmly on the hilt of his zanpakuto. If there was something the shinigami prided themselves on it was the culmination of knowledge from hundreds of years worth of knowledge in the practice of swordsmanship. As it stood hibiki may have fancied himself as a boxer in most cases but he was still among one of the gotei 13’s most well versed swordsmen. Which meant his skill with the blade was something to be marveled at as he closed the gap on the beast. Given the length of his blade and the speed at which he travelled he didn’t need to move very far at all. The speed in which his blade traveled was proportional to his hoho meaning that it came like the bite of a guillotine, swift and unimpeded by the flow of air. His laughter would’ve been cut short not by his own design but by the bite of Hibiki’s blade on his exposed neck. Even if he had managed to snap it shut and release an inkling of his reiatsu he could find Hibiki’s exploding with nearly equal force to protect his being.
Had these two met each other with their own cataclysms of force it would likely leave the two of them either standing face to face or separated a considerable distance. The only thing that kept Hibiki from simply being eradicated by the potential explosion was his body's uncanny ability to react unintentionally, his sixth sense if you will. It was something that made him such a formidable combatant amidst his peers within seireitei. Had this beast managed to protect his throat and been standing before Hibiki he could find that the boar he sought to test was still standing in his presence with those luminescent yellow eyes still staring right back at him. While the latter was likely to be the case Hibiki didn’t respond with a name but only that same intense stare and a few words to compliment it.
“Come now, you didn’t think it would be that easy did you!?”
The world around them would likely crumble with the quartz like substance that made up the trees of Hueco Mundo raining down around them. However in the end Hibiki would be relatively unphased by the explosive nature of the beast reiatsu looking a little worse for wear with the boar head he wore slightly more damaged than before. Hibiki had every intention of going toe to toe with this beast without even relinquishing his shikai. He felt as if his skills with a simple blade were more than enough. If a single shinigami that came centuries before him could survive without one why would he need to go that far just yet. He could only hope the four legged beast that resided before him was up to snuff. His arrival in Hueco Mundo was already turning out to be a rather exciting so far and was certainly worth the risk if he had to say so himself. Should the beast continue with his line of thinking and acting Hibiki would’ve been more than ready to continue the fight, poised with blade in hand.
