Just before Ryuga is about to take the last step to enter the portal that leads directly to the division's personal Senkaimon can he feel a change in Izanagi's Reiryoku (霊力, Spiritual Power) but just for a second. Ryuga stops and looks back at the young shinigami and suspects that he actually managed to perform Jinzen (刃禅, Sword Meditation; Viz "Sword Zen") , this made Ryuga smile. But this moment of pride was quickly interrupted by an unknown shinigami that called for the two men by the order from their Lieutenant.
"Hurry up! The Lieutenant is requesting everyone's presence in the meeting hall! Hold on that means you too, Ryuga-san! Ah-Izanagi-san! I see you there, you come too!"
Shortly after, Izanagi began to speak in surprise.
"Huh!!! What now? Goddammit. Can't a man get any sleep around here? Ugggggghhhh!"
Seconds later, Izanagi and the rest are on their way to the meeting hall while Ryuga is still in his room. His thoughts go back and forth about whether he should go ahead and leave to help Shizuka and Gorou. Or if he should listen to the words and head to the meeting that the Lieutenant summoned him and the others for. But after thinking for a while, Ryuga decides to go to the meeting. He knows very well that Shizuka manages on his own and should help be needed, Ryuga is one of the few who can actually get there in seconds.
"I should not make her wait or I will be in more trouble then needed."
Ryuga puts his hands together and closes the portal he created and then he walks towards the door instead.Taking the usual route instead of relying on his shikai is something he tries to do more often even if the opposite is shown more often. The second Ryuga walks out from his room and closes the door behind him before almost in an instant moves away. Using his tremendous raw strength in his legs Ryuga began running through the barracks and he made his way toward the meeting hall. Almost flying as he runs and it does not take long for him to end up at the wanted location but he stops at the door. With slow movements, Ryuga raises his arm and opens the door to the hall just to find out he is the last to arrive because of the time he took to choose who he should have headed at. (Fuyuko or Shizuka)

Finally the room started to fill up with the fellow members of the 10th division, both its veterans members and its newcomers. Fuyuko stands on her elevated pedestal, eying each member as the doors to the hall close with a subtle thud.
She was quiet, eyes continuing to move from head to head, face to face. Her motive behind this sudden meeting, uncertain. Her thoughts, her intentions equally masked. The Lieutenant rests her hand on the hilt of her zanpakuto before breaking her silence.
”I’m starting to believe that you all, gathered before me...are not worthy of being in the 10th Division.” Her words come out harsh, sharp and fierce from the start. Fuyuko does not take this time to gauge their response as she continues.
”You’re weak...lazy, over half of you lounge about the barracks and in your rooms as if this were a hotel. Our training ground..in ruins, and not a single soul has taken the initiative to begin its repairs. As if those offenses weren’t enough, in the absence of our Taichou, no one has found me to inform me of matters that just might be of some significance.”
Her grip on her zanpakuto grows tighter. The raven haired Lieutenant was visibly and audibly aggravated. There seemed to be a lack of motivation, an absence of vigor within their ranks. ”Being in this division means you’ve resolved yourself to fight and protect both the Soul Society and the World of the Living. We are to be the muscle, the arms and legs of the Seireitei, out there in the field maintaining the balance. Have you all forgotten what happened to our Captain all those months ago?! How, as he lay there in his coma we were forced to band together tighter than before. That even at our lowest, even when we felt our worst we persevered!”
Her voice spreads throughout the hall. Stern eyes reflect the intensity of her emotions, the genuity of her burning emotions.
”But now? Now, we have begun to devolve. In our complacency, we’ve begun looking like a damn joke. It's a humiliation that makes even me want to draw my blade against you, who I am meant to call comrades. A humiliation towards the Division, is an insult to our Captain...and that, I will not allow.”
Many that stood before her were lost for words, while there were some who had been putting their best foot forward..there were perhaps many more who had admittedly, grown lax in their duties.
Her focus then shifts to Izanagi, one of the two new applicants that had recently joined the Division. ”Izanagi, our initial meeting was..less than ideal. Your lack of decorum was an insult to me, one that I won’t suffer twice. While the Captain may see some potential in you, and allowed you to hold a seated position...Sixth seat at that..do not forget that it is by his good will, his faith alone that you’ve accomplished that. Still lacking even the ability to activate your shikai, to me..you are a liability. While that did nothing to affect you amongst the barbarians of the Eleventh Division...you’re here now, and honestly...I find it pathetic.”
She practically spat the words, each one sharper than the last.
”You apparently have some...things to work through. To me, it is only an excuse. Prove to me, to the Captain, to this Division that you wish to be here. Prove that you have the will to survive under Taichou’s banner. I charge you with this task...in three week’s time, you WILL, unlock your shikai.”
THUD
She removes her zanpakuto from its resting place, slamming the butt of her sheathed blade on the ground.
”Should you fail, I will exercise all of my might and power to ensure you become another Squad’s burden. Undo the shackles that bind you, and overcome whatever holds you back!”
She felt her zanpakuto rattle within her grip, a grip that only tightened to quell the roused spirit of her sword. Her eyes shifted, her gaze now focused on Izanagi’s senior, that veteran Ryuga.
”It's been brought to my attention that Third Seat Shizuka has requested for the removal of his Gentei Rein.”
She pauses, as all those present understood the implication of her words. That if someone of Shizuka’s caliber deemed the threat to be great enough where he had to go all out, then the situation certainly had to be dire. Members began to whisper and mutter amongst each other, each one wondering what Shizuka was possibly facing. Was he injured? Would the Third seat have to use his Bankai? Questions and more questions began to spread like fire.
”SILENCE!”
Her sharp command demands their attention, demands their obedience. The hall grows quiet once more.
”You may wonder why, if I know all this..would I bring you here, force you along instead of leaving you to your own devices...the fact that Shizuka had already long since left, and you..even with your power, was still present for me to drag along, well..what then does this say of you?”
She does not wait long for her words to register, or even for any type of rebuttal from the man.
”You wish to prove yourself, to affirm your strength..then when there are times that demand your strength, do not hesitate. Do not wait. Now go...and assist Shizuka properly, as you should have done from the start.”
She dismisses the man from the hall, from her sight...from her focus, as her attention is now trained on the entirety of the hall.
”Never forget, that you are all a part of this Division. That you are all ones chosen and accepted by our Captain. He chose you...no, US for a reason! We are proud members of the Tenth Division! Life is not one ruled or dictated by luck and chance! If you want to win, you wish to succeed then work hard! When that’s not enough, work harder! And when your strength fails, and you feel you’ve reached your limit...then I command each and every one of you, press forward, push past that limit, and work harder! Show the other squads what we of the tenth are made of!”
Her voice rises higher, louder reaching every ear, every soul.
THUD
Again she slams her zanpakuto to the ground, her grip on it never faltering.
”YOU ALL ARE DISMISSED! Go, and clear the training grounds...and once you’ve done that...TRAIN! Train until you can no longer move!”
She is saluted, as they ceremoniously bow. The doors to the hall open up, and they begin pouring from the room. She watches them exit, her thought drifting towards Shizuka, and then her Captain. She did not know how long they would be gone..but she’d hold the fort until their return. She was, after all..the Lieutenant of the Tenth.

They have all arrived within the meeting hall, damn near crammed up next to one another, a foot of space. The uncontrollable yawning has started, eyes were low as a result of tiredness and weakness. Every member began gossiping among themselves and wondering what brought them in the tenth Division's meeting hall. Izanagi kept his eyes closed and remain silent, unbothered by the chit-chat going around him. Izanagi tried tuning their voices out, mentally imagining himself, turning the knob counter-clockwise to turn down the volume, and focusing all of his attentions to master the art of sleeping standing up. At least until the Lieutenant addresses the matter at hand, that is, of course, Izanagi hasn't already fallen into a deep slumber. Already feeling himself drifting away in this shrouded environment, Izanagi's head drops forward. Without realizing that the moment he fell asleep within those few seconds, the passing time was much longer than those few seconds. Once Izanagi began waking up quickly with one eye-opening first, slowly followed by the second eye, yawning simultaneously. Once Izanagi came too, all he heard was the voice of the Lt speaking.
" ...are not worthy of being in the 10th Division.”Izanagi didn't catch the other words, only coming to mid-sentence of Maiden's words.
Not Worthy? Who? Huh? What?
Confusion would be the word, but more like incompetent would best describe Izanagi right now. Though his words of rambling would not have reached the Lieutenant's ears, both eyes fluttered quickly three times, thinking it would help him stay awake through Fuyuko's ordeal.
"You’re weak....lazy...
Izanagi shrugged while smiling because it described him down to the T. Weak. Lazy. It sounded more like Izanagi all the way.
"Over half of you lounge about the barracks and in your rooms as if this were a hotel."
A light chuckled sounded for Izanagi only to hear while once again, she perfectly described him inside and out that it's scary. After joining the Tenth Division, that's all Izanagi ever did was lounge around, stay to himself and try to stay away from a crowd such as this. Had the Lieutenant been keeping an eye on him the entire time?
"Our training ground..in ruins and not a single soul has taken the initiative to begin its repairs. As if those offenses weren't enough, in the absence of our Taichou, no one has found me to inform me of matters that might be of some significance."
wEw8Bk9.jpg

As soon as the training ground was brought up in the conversation, in Izanagi's mind, the background shifted into darkness while his face was fixed to be guilty, as he was part of that guilty party for the damage of the training area. What caught him off guard the most, where it even made him uttered "huh" was that she mentioned about it being repaired.
"We suppose to clean?'
Izanagi would ask this subconsciously; he never did once clean anything, nor was it expected of him to do it in the Eleventh Division. Then again, there was no one there that put anyone in their place; everyone did what they wanted when they wanted. The Division was just an easy division with no Captain and no one to drive that Division.
" Being in this Division means you've resolved yourself to fight and protect both the Soul Society and the World of the Living.
"Protect the Soul Society and World of the Living? Why?"

That line alone agitated Izanagi, those same lines used in the academy "You must protect the soul society. And blah blah blah." Not once did anyone that preaches those words explain the why. That one word that was asked within Izanagi's mind was still left unanswered. Why must they protect the Soul Society? How far does the protection of the Soul Society go? The soul society's safety doesn't do anything for those outside of the Gotei 13 People getting murdered left and right, struggling to survive. Izanagi doesn't feel wrong for the lack of such a thing; he was raised in an environment where he had worked to steal food. Then once Akuma surfaces, he became an executioner. One went on to kill bandits, thieves, and everyone else that had sought to harm him. The lives of the citizens are something he has lived and noticed. Personally, Izanagi doesn't have the ambition to protect anything other than himself. That's how he was brought up. Nothing else mattered. There was no valid reason for becoming a shinigami, only a shinigami for fun.
Though since he reflected on the past life, ever since the encounter with meeting Akuma's true self. The tether he felt all his life was gone, remembering things of the past he did not recognize before had come to him. Realizing this made Izanagi think of everything from back then and til now. Both eyes stared at the palm of his hands, through his eyes and eyes only; they were stained in blood. The reaction that followed was a smirk on his face that only lasted a few seconds before putting both hands down back to his side to finish listening to the Lieutenant speak, and the smirk faded at the same time.
”Izanagi, our initial meeting was..less than ideal. Your lack of decorum was an insult to me.....
"I don't even know the meaning of the word."

He thought.
"While the Captain may see some potential in you, and allowed you to hold a seated position...Sixth seat at that..do not forget that it is by his good will, his faith alone that you've accomplished that. Still lacking even the ability to activate your shikai, to me..you are a liability. While that did nothing to affect you amongst the barbarians of the Eleventh Division... you're here now, and honestly...I find it pathetic."
The Lieutenant's words were on point, sharp and fierce. You could hear the sound of disgust when speaking about the Eleventh Division. Anyone that was being singled out in front of the entire Division would felt some kind of way. Outed in front of people who have no idea who you are, yet Izanagi felt nothing. He shrugged it off visibly for everyone to see. Not to show off or act up or even to be disrespectful but just a reaction to how he feels about what she thinks and feels. Izanagi didn't ask to be here but sought out and brought here by the Captain himself. Why? Not even Izanagi knew the real reason for doing so, something Izanagi doubted the moment he arrived due to the concerns of controlling his "twin." Deep down, he feels that Akuma is no longer an issue. Regardless, the motivational speaker does not faze someone who lacks motivation but is a lost soul with no ambition, no aspirations, and no guidance to what it means to be a soul reaper. Ryuga and himself had talked but never found that answer.
"You apparently have some...things to work through. To me, it is only an excuse. Prove to me, to the Captain, to this Division that you wish to be here. Prove that you have the will to survive under Taichou's banner. I charge you with this task...in three week's time, you WILL, unlock your shikai."
Izanagi did not react to these demands she's making, but slamming her sword into the floor of the floor to show her words' seriousness followed by this injunction.
" Should you fail, I will exercise all of my might and power to ensure you become another Squad's burden."
750d9362bc463070d96cb7ca92f15330.gif

Yet again, unphased by the Lt's promise to place him elsewhere, she is passionate about anywhere besides this Division. Passion Izanagi doesn't know anything about, and he is use to moving around place to place, like his Rukon days. It didn't take her words seriously or to heart. Not because he didn't care about what she said, but Izanagi is ignorant, lacking understanding of what it means to be apart of something bigger than himself and being a part of a division that strives for excellence and strength. Will Izanagi come to learn of this, or will he fail anyway and become a part of another division that will accept his lax attitude?
For a little while, Izanagi turned the rest of her speech off to stay to himself mentally for a moment. Time continues to pass until he focused on her address on something else once again.
" Never forget, that you are all a part of this Division. That you are all ones chosen and accepted by our Captain. He chose you...no, US for a reason! We are proud members of the Tenth Division! Life is not one ruled or dictated by luck and chance! If you want to win, you wish to succeed then work hard! When that's not enough, work harder! And when your strength fails, and you feel you've reached your limit...then I command each and every one of you, press forward, push past that limit, and work harder! Show the other squads what we of the tenth are made of!"
"Chosen? Accepted? Apart?"

Izanagi had been mentally picking out words that capture his attention. Nothing she said prior reached him. These final moments of her speech caught him. Made him feel something but unsure what it is exactly. The Lieutenant words cut through to him, and need it the time to reflect. And which the moment she dismissed everyone with her zanpakuto. He immediately left and was closest to the exit of the meeting hall.
"So you not going to reveal the fruits of your growth to them? Will, did not want to tell them my name?" A much more deeper voice spoken into the mind of Izanagi.
"Nah. I am going to rest my eyes. I got three weeks. I'll show her then. Maybe. Plus, I couldn't remember your name anyway."

Ryuga-Fb-1-2.png

Ryuga is now standing with all the members in the tenth Division's meeting hall. The reason why everyone has gathered here is because of their Lieutenant and every Shinigami in this hall has the highest respect for her. Not only for the title but also for her as a person and as a soldier. The tallest among them is Ryuga himself standing over two meters tall with large muscles that almost rival the ones their captain himself has. And while almost everyone is whispering to each other, he stands quietly and his razor-sharp blue eyes that are under the sunglasses look over their heads.
”I’m starting to believe that you all, gathered before me...are not worthy of being in the 10th Division.”
The Lieutenant finally said something but it is not what Ryuga thought she would say. Her words may not be many, but they are of great importance to him.
When she grabs the handle of her zanpakuto Ryuga understands that this is very serious and that she is disappointed with everyone in the room.
That even at our lowest, even when we felt our worst we persevered.''
Disappointment and shame washed over the huge man. He stands quietly while she talks and hopes that no one interrupts her now.
''But now? Now, we have begun to devolve. In our complacency, we’ve begun looking like a damn joke. It's a humiliation that makes even me want to draw my blade against you, who I am meant to call comrades. A humiliation towards the Division, is an insult to our Captain...and that, I will not allow. ''
Her words echo in Ryuga's head and he is completely speechless. His thoughts float away about how he should have done more for the division and all its members. Unfortunately, Ryuga ends up deep in thought and does not hear the rest of what she says but the sound of the blade hitting the ground kicks him out of the deep thoughts.
”Should you fail, I will exercise all of my might and power to ensure you become another Squad’s burden. Undo the shackles that bind you, and overcome whatever holds you back!''
Now her focus is on him and he stands silent while their eyes meet. Ryuga does not know if he will get a huge scolding or if she will even beat him up in front of the division for not doing a good job.
”It's been brought to my attention that Third Seat Shizuka has requested for the removal of his Gentei Rein.”
Ryuga just standing there not moving as he heard the members began to whisper and mutter amongst each other, each one wondering what Shizuka was possibly facing.
”SILENCE!”
Again it was quiet in the hall and the whispering stopped completely. All eyes and attention were now on their Lieutenant.
”You may wonder why, if I know all this..would I bring you here, force you along instead of leaving you to your own devices...the fact that Shizuka had already long since left, and you..even with your power, was still present for me to drag along, well..what then does this say of you?”
Ryuga just looks at her behind his sunglasses while she talks and just before he gets the chance to answer she continues talking.
”You wish to prove yourself, to affirm your strength..then when there are times that demand your strength, do not hesitate. Do not wait. Now go...and assist Shizuka properly, as you should have done from the start.”
Ryuga nods and turns so that his back is facing in the opposite direction than the rest of the people in the hall. In other words, towards their Lieutenant and Ryuga takes a fully upright stance with the legs shoulder-width apart and just to show he makes a quick, straight punch with his right gauntlet glove and keeping the left one raised up a little bit away from his left side of the face. And with a small, clockwise rotation of the torso and hips, the fist rotates 90 degrees, becoming horizontal upon impact in the air. As the punch reaches full extension, the right shoulder is brought up to guard the chin. The left hand remains next to his face like it is guarding the jaw. The trio of grand, curving blades seems to disappear into the air but a small glow is still around the small part of the blades that is still visible.
ryuga_shikai-1-2.png

''Blinking Passage ( 点滅通路, "Tenmetsu Tsūro"; "Flashing Passage").''
And with the words said almost whispering, he makes a simple motion and pulls his right hand down. The blades slowly rip open a rift in the fabric of space in front of Ryuga in the shape of a tear that fast opens up to a size that would allow him to walk easy into it. As Ryuga tears open the rift another matching rift opens simultaneously at the division's personal Senkaimon. The gate is still open and guards can see Ryuga coming out from his 'portal' and the second he sees that the gate is still not closed he does not waste any more time and rush past the guards.

The raven headed Lieutenant was in the courtyard helping those who needed help. The atmosphere both around and within the barracks was rather tense, for lack of a better word. Fuyuko was admittedly becoming a bit restless, she hadn’t heard anything back from any of the individuals who had been dispatched to Naruki City, nor had she even gotten word back of the Captain. She wasn’t entirely certain what was going on beyond the borders of their barracks, but what she was certain of was that whatever it was...it wasn’t good. Lost in both worry and thought Fuyuko becomes startled from the startling spiritual pressure spiking from the Northeastern region of the Seireitei. Just what was happening today? She focuses her reikaku, stretching it to its utmost limits, only in time to notice several spiritual signatures vanishing..snuffed out. Lost and confused, Fuyuko becomes even more concerned, that quiet feeling gnawing in her gut and the back of her mind becomes even more prominent.
The young Lieutenant would have to wait to gather her thoughts, thoughts now invaded and drowned out by the voice of her fellow Lieutenant, Yasu of the Second Division. Fuyuko’s eyes began to dilate as she, like the others in the Seireitei is regaled with the information regarding the massive Garganta formed within the Rukongai, the 77th District to be precise according to her friend. Before she could even begin to question this startling information she hears the explosion, and the voice of her friend is now lost to her. Fuyuko’s worries have once again increased.
She stood at an impasse, faced with many forks within a road visible to only her. With the Captain gone it left her in Command of their squad. She was curious about the vanishing spiritual pressures she felt earlier, she was worried about her friend and peer Yasu and what terrible occurrence could be happening within the Rukongai, her mind fleeting back to thoughts of those citizens she spent time with after the disaster of the Kototsu. Then there was Shizuka, he had requested permission to undo his limiter, and with Kuro and Gorou with him, and Ryuga who should have arrived by now...shouldn’t they have been back by now? Her mind was being stretched every which way, and she knew very well she couldn’t be in multiple places at once, nor could she reasonably spare any of the personnel of Squad 10.
”No, we must steadfast. The other squads should probably be responding already. It’d be pointless to have everyone rush and pile up in one place. Too many hands in the pot will only cause confusion. If anything, at least we have some chance of not being completely caught off guard should something unexpected arise...something else unexpected I should say.”
Lieutenant Kasumi consoles and reasons with herself, justifying her decision to keep both her and her men in place. No matter how sound the reasoning however, it didn’t make the decision any easier for her. Her eyes flutter closed, and a breath is taken. Again she focuses, stretching her Reikaku out beyond the boundaries of their barracks. She breathes as her senses expand further. She bites her lip, her search expanding out further still. There had been no word from the Captain, was he even still within the Seireitei? Perhaps he had exited to go towards the Rukongai with the others. As she concentrates she finds her Captain, his reiatsu shining like a bacon. He was on the move, though to where she couldn’t say. She retracts her senses, finding relief that he, at the very least, was alright.
She nods to herself and proceeds to move further into their barracks, maneuvering herself to their control room, where they monitor the spiritual situation within Naruki City, allowing them to dispatch any shinigami already dispatched in the area to address issues, or better direct those within the barracks on where they’re going. When entering the room, all the noise, all the hustle and bustle comes to a silent stop. Fuyuko glances at those who’s wavering gazes were focused on her. Something was going on..something was wrong.
”Report to me the situation in Naruki City.”
The Lieutenant commands. Instead of an immediate response, there is...silence. She notices the hesitation within their gazes. They only reaffirm the doubts and concerns she’s silently held. ”Do not make me repeat myself! Speak!” She commands, the frustration evident in her voice. It served only to mask the concern that would otherwise be heard.
Fuyuko is met with hesitation again, before finally someone speaks. ”Reporting to Lieutenant Kasumi. As you know, we’ve been monitoring the fluctuations of spiritual pressure in the area. Both Kuro and Shizuka have been engaged with an unknown spiritual pressure. It's not shinigami, nor is it Quincy or hollow. We can’t say to what it belongs to, but we can say that Shizuka and Kuro engaged it in combat. And-” He pauses, uncertain if he should go on...uncertain if he wanted to continue speaking. But speak he does.
”Kuro’s signature had grown weak, and continued to grow weaker and weaker until...until we could no longer detect it. From what we can tell, neither Iba Ryuga, nor Nagatomo Gorou are anywhere within Naruki City. Shizuka and Kuro are the only shinigami battling this unknown enemy. Third seat Hyouzoku’s status is still unclear at this moment, we’re attempting to learn more.”
Fuyuko stares at the agent who issued the report. She was a melting pot of emotions at the moment. SHe was certain she had commanded Ryuga to immediately join Shizuka to assist him, and equally certain that Gorou was meant to have gone with Shizuka as well. Where were they? Had something happened to them, or...had they gone rogue? Then there was Kuro...if they couldn’t detect his spiritual pressure...that could only mean that...NO! She couldn’t think that, no matter what the facts were, regardless of what sound reason told her to be true.
”If Kuro has truly fallen...we will be sure to honor his memory and his sacrifice. For now, continue to monitor the situation from here. I’m going to find the Captain.”
With a nod, Fuyuko darts out of the room, running through the barrack’s courtyard, dashing out into the streets of the Seireitei. Her destination was where she last knew her Captain to be, within the Central area of Seireitei. She knew that her Captain along with the other Captains were having a meeting, and under normal circumstances she’d wait patiently, not wishing to disturb or cause any problems for her Captain. There was nothing normal about today’s circumstances, nothing normal at all. As she shunpoed through the Seireitei, she hoped that the meeting had already met its end, hoped to catch her Captain while he was still in the area to give him the news, to seek his guidance, the comforts in his strength. If the meeting had not wrapped up, then perhaps Head Lieutenant Oki would hear her out. Surely she would understand the predicament she was in and offer her some form of aid. Fuyuko picked up the pace, the knot in her heart growing tighter.
”Hang in there, stupid Shizuka…”
She muttered a silent plea.
