A torrent of spiritual pressure filled the barracks of the tenth division. The arrangement to gather seated officers for a brief divisional summit could be felt irrefutably. Tension rose due to Gorou's asocial decision to remain outside the Captain's office. There were approximately three individuals that Gorou could feel inside the walls; one being the pronounced captain and two unknown shinigami. Gorou's initial plan was to remain unobserved, but not unnoticed. His intent was cut short by a sonorous utter of his name.
“Gorou—”
Gorou slowly opened his eyes concurrently with the call of his name. He fixed his posture, standing upright from his leaned pose. He began to walk towards the entrance way...his sandals echo in lingering intervals to adduce his unenthusiastic stride. The smalls clacks of his prayer beads add a harmonic tune to his steps. The first thing visible through the passageway was Gorou left sandal; he briefly paused his pathing before reviling his entire physique. He was scuffed up, it could be clear that he had just been in some sort of physical activity. He maintained a rather impassive expression, giving eye contact to only his captain and almost disregarding the others present. He took his first step into the office and felt a typhoon of energy emitting from the three's presence. He continued to tread towards the captain, who seemed to get taller as he neared. Gorou stopped his pace once he reached the two other shinigami. The stench of alcohol began to prick at his nostril hairs; he slightly glanced toward the assumed source and brought his focus back to his captain. The shinigami seemed uninteresting, even obsolete. It was possible that he could've been twice Gorou's age. The smell of alcohol began to be enhanced by a putrid body odor, making his first impression to Gorou even worse. From that moment Gorou had zero interest in the shinigami for the time being. Suddenly, the hairs on his body began to rise as if he were getting goosebumps, but Gorou was unfazed...no...it was as if they were attracted to something. He glanced over to the other shinigami and caught a glimpse of cyan hair. It was a very odd color, in fact it might've been Gorou's first time ever seeing such color. He wasn't impressed by the shinigami; his demeanor gave Gorou the impression that he was a laggard. Gorou could sense that the shinigami's spiritual pressure was chaotic, but it felt very precise...concentrated, causing his presence to bring heat. Gorou let his eyes leave the shinigami and once again brought his attention to his captain.
“I am aware that you have chosen me to be a part of your division. I'm assuming these two are also seated officers, but I find it hard to believe that either are your Lieutenant. Are they here for my preferment?”

Just hardly in his peripheral, Shizuka’s posture began to shift just the slightest bit. One would mistake the monstrous captain for a fool, making the assumption—and mistake—that he was oblivious to his surroundings. He was not- In fact, quite the opposite. The tanned skin of his 3rd Seated Officer began to fluster, garnishing a rosey red in color. As the color of his cheeks changed, so would his body language, shifting to from its previously less serious form to something of happiness and leisure. Odd. The Captain simply took note, Hyouzoku-san’s eyes glued to the surface of his Denreishinki. In the midst of Ryuga’s words, Higen would be a liar if he claimed to be 100% attentive, too curious about what was so important that it took Shizuka’s attention from his summons. If it were just the two of them he’d investigate further, but was more concerned about getting the new members acquainted; he’d deal with him later.
The moment Gorou’s name escaped his lips the cat was seemingly out of the bag. The three of them monitored the door with unrelenting focus, their gaze never pulling away for a moment. The sounds that accrued afterward made this scenario even more suspenseful. The subtle noises of a division hard at work in the distance became drowned out by the new Shinigami’s reverberant attire. Sandals clacking against wooden panels resounded, only to be complimented by the friction of a bead necklace grinding against itself. And then the first step came forward, a normal-sized geta sandal breaking the threshold of the entrance revealing someone tattered socks and sandals alike. The rest of Gorou’s frame came through nearly an instant after, revealing the synonymous unity of tatter between his feet and the rest of his uniform. As he entered the room—surrounded by the three—Higen could more than tell that he was simply taking in his surroundings. To no surprise, Gorou was nearly famed for his ability to assess a situation, the first impression of his division members was no exception and perhaps equally important as identifying a situation in the field. These would be his comrades, after all.
Gorou’s eyes traveled about, dancing along the figures of the other officers before finding themselves looking back up at the gargantuan Captain. The look was returned, waiting to here the boy’s first words before he issued a proper welcome.
“I am aware that you have chosen me to be a part of your division. I'm assuming these two are also seated officers, but I find it hard to believe that either are your Lieutenant. Are they here for my preferment?”
Hmph. The kid doesn’t miss a beat. His demeanor would surely clash with the others but prove comical for Higen himself. His troop of misfits only seemed to grow, and Gorou was a welcomed addition.
“Welcome, Gorou. Yes.. you would be correct. This here is Shizuka Hyouzoku, my Third Seat and direct commander of the Living Task Force. When it comes to most expeditions into the World Of The Living, he will more than likely be in charge. This here is Ryuga Iba, my Fifth Seat. He Handles a lot of day-to-day stuff around the Division and his usually the proctor in our training regiments. The three of you will work together more than enough to understand, get to know, and respect each other.”
He spoke sternly with the usage of hand gestures to either his left or right to match names with faces while introducing the duo to Gorou. Amidst the end of his sentence, a 10th Division woman snuck into the office with the intention of moving quickly. She kneeled downward to collect the papers along the floor, rising back upward to collect the residual parchment off of the desk. Just before she exits Higen stops her with his loud and prominent voice, causing her to turn shoulder immediately at the behest of her Captain.
“That reminds me.. I’m sure Fuyuko sent you here.. only she is adamant about my paperwork. Would you mind asking her to find Izanagi and bring him to me immediately?”
“Of Course, Taichou!”
She exits promptly, hardly wasting a second, while Higen’s attention fixates back towards his newly appointed officer.
“As you surely know by now, you have been inducted as my Fourth Seat. Your duties will be comprised of a mixture of things, but I have to admit.. it is your combat skill I plan to put to use the most. Times are different.. darker. There are soon to be enemies at our doorstep.. of this I’m sure. I need the strongest at my side when it all goes to shit. I’m sure you will not disappoint. Furthermore, it is our direct responsibility to both enhance and polish the skills that you have already made your own… look forward to a rigorous period of training ahead.

Adamant gazes shifted directly towards the door of the Captain's office. It was almost a known certainty that the newest 4th Seat in the Gotei would've heard his name be reverberated throughout the walls of the entire barracks. The bellow of one of the mightiest Shinigami, goading his entrance into the room. And enter the shinigami did, his cold stare immediately analyzing the three men standing before him as he slowly tapped his way into the premises. Shizuka upon Gorou's entrance, quickly put his Denreishinki in his pocket, while subtly analyzing his appearance. Everything between his obsidian black hair, his grainy pale skin, all the way to the beads laying on his chest that clacked simultaneously with his sandals as he walked in. To Shizuka, Gorou took on the appearance of a troublemaker, someone who played by his own rules, and looked menacing while doing so. Similar to another fairly young shinigami (Kuro) in their division, minus the daunting look. The second his full body graced the entire room, Gorou immediately spoke out.
“I am aware that you have chosen me to be a part of your division. I'm assuming these two are also seated officers, but I find it hard to believe that either are your Lieutenant. Are they here for my preferment?”
Not phased in the slightest by the boy's words, Shizuka prepared to respond
"Well actually we-
"Welcome, Gorou. Yes.. you would be correct. This here is Shizuka Hyouzoku, my Third Seat and direct commander of the Living Task Force. Higen's words being the "long version" of what Shizuka was going to say back as a response. The truth is, he did not really care about rankings in the division. If it were just a contest of strength, Shizuka would be in contention for the lieutenant of the division. His willingness to fight and the depth of his power being only second to his captain in his division, is a valid namesake to put him in those ranks. Gorou's words would've definitely stung or rubbed some shinigami in other divisions the wrong way, but his impertinent attitude would most likely prove to be a great fit in the coming years. Then suddenly, one of the Captain's female assistants shuffled in the room to organize his disarray of papers, Shizuka used this small interruption to try and make another small observation of the newest seated member in the division. His eyes clearly shifted towards him once again, his face not carrying much emotion or purpose towards the young shinigami. His reiatsu albeit not seemingly too impressive, you could tell from its density that it was only the beginning of his power. Hopefully both of the new seated members, would help Shizuka progress in his quest for strength as well. There was only so much you could learn from someone whose overall power just eclipses yours, that being the case with Higen's training.
The woman taking nearly no time at all to get situated, exited the room and the Captain continued on with his speech to Gorou.
"As you surely know by now, you have been inducted as my Fourth Seat. Your duties will be comprised of a mixture of things, but I have to admit.. it is your combat skill I plan to put to use the most. Times are different.. darker. "I don't know if you're a big fan of training, but i'm always around for a quick spar. Never hesitate to ask."
Trying to further ease Gorou in to 10th Division's ways, the 3rd Seat was actually looking forward to their future together. Now it was only a matter of time until the other recruit Izanagi came in. Just from Higen's earlier words to Shizuka, he wondered which of these recruits was the potential problem. So far Gorou seemed fine, now it was a waiting game to see when Izanagi would make his appearance, and to find out what first impression he would bring on his arrival.

Upon Gorou's entrance, Ryuga would give full attention towards the newest member in the 10th division and immediately began to analyze the man. The pale-skin and short black hair and the unique addition to his uniform stood out from the other members of the division but it was not the only thing that seemed interesting to Ryuga. His cold stare and the feeling of an cold hearted man and troublemaker fills the room as he walks into Higen's office. And out of pure instinct Ryuga grasps hold of the handle of his Zanpakutō but does not does draw the sword out of its sheath. Their eyes meet and they make eye contact for a split second just before Gorou's gaze wanders on towards the 3rd Seat Shizuka Hyouzoku then Higen right after;Ryuga takes a deep breath as he slowly lets go off the handle, realizing the error in his veteran instincts. Slowly, Ryuga looks away from the man and his gaze moves towards their captain before Gorou spoke out.
“I am aware that you have chosen me to be a part of your division. I'm assuming these two are also seated officers, but I find it hard to believe that either are your Lieutenant. Are they here for my preferment?”
His somewhat intimidating appearance was soon put to shade by his harmless voice. Even so, the words that came out didn’t sit well, and had a disrespectful undertone to them, because of this Ryuga chose to simply ignore the statement and let the Captain handle it.
"Well actually we-?”

He Handles a lot of day-to-day stuff around the Division and his usually the proctor in our training regiments. The three of you will work together more than enough to understand, get to know, and respect each other.”

The Captain’s voice is loud and profound, sounding throughout this local part of the barracks. Ryuga’s interest is piqued, the Captain stating that the three of them will be working together and of course, respecting each other- Ryuga is doubtful but he already respects their 3rd seat Shizuka so it is not entirely impossible that he can actually start to respect Gorou. But since Higen himself has chosen Gorou for their division Ryuga is curious about his abilities and whether he can collaborate in groups. Suddenly, one of the Captain's female assistants sneaks in the room and head towards his desk. When the assistant gets there she kneeled down and begin to collect the papers on the floor that Higen had accidentally gotten down a little while ago. Ryuga is constantly looking at the woman and is actually moving towards her to offer his help. When he is about to take the first step from the floor he feels something running along his leg. And it is one of the wounds that started to bleed again after he trained with Amikiri during the whole night. And slowly he stands back so that the blood does not flow even faster from his movement and eventually drops on Higen's floor.
I completely forgot to take care of the wounds and became too eager to answer the captain’s call.
Ryuga thinking to himself while looking at the woman that continues to collect the papers on the floor. And when she has gathered them all, she gets up to collect the residual parchment off of the desk. Behind the sunglasses, Ryuga analyzes her from head to toe and as Higen speaks towards her stopping the women from leaving, his gaze moves toward him.
“That reminds me.. I’m sure Fuyuko sent you here.. only she is adamant about my paperwork. Would you mind asking her to find Izanagi and bring him to me immediately?”
Again, Ryuga listens to what Higen says and when he hears the familiar name Izanagi, he wonders if it might be the boy he met so long ago. But that chance is small but it is a chance that actually gives Ryuga a calm as he has been thinking about how things have been going for the boy. And he barely notices that the woman has left the room before Higen starts talking again.
“As you surely know by now, you have been inducted as my Fourth Seat. Your duties will be comprised of a mixture of things, but I have to admit.. it is your combat skill I plan to put to use the most. Times are different.. darker. To hear that the new person is actually higher ranked than himself, even though it is just a seat higher impresses on Ryuga. Now he got a new view of Gorou and actually wants to test him if their captain has too high expectations or if Gorou actually knows his thing. But that thought disappears quickly when Higen talks about that there are soon to be enemies at our doorstep. What enemies he is talking about, Ryuga does not know but this makes him want to leave the room and go off to train and get ready for these unknown enemies.
"I don't know if you're a big fan of training, but i'm always around for a quick spar. Never hesitate to ask."
“I'm ranked lower than you but don't underestimate me, I'm always ready for a match. Maybe we three can have group spar?”

Ryuga tries to see if Gorou is willing to show his abilities and skills but is also curious about how Shizuka will react to his proposal. Now Ryuga only needs to wait for the last recruit if it could be the boy or if it be only a man with the same name. He really hopes there is someone who gives a better first impression than Gorou did, but he can only hope for it.

CLACK. CLACK. CLACK
“That reminds me.. I’m sure Fuyuko sent you here.. only she is adamant about my paperwork. Would you mind asking her to find Izanagi and bring him to me immediately?”
Captain Higen recalls a thought, the presence of the attendant reminding him of those not currently present. As he tasks the woman with locating the Vice Captain and the other recruit, waraji tap lightly down the hall. From the sound, someone was approaching.
Clack. Ting. Clack. Ting
The sound of the waraji grows closer and is now joined by the soft tinkling of small bells as the Captain continues on with his speech regarding his expectations for not only those recently joining, but the entire division as well. His desires were not unreasonable, especially for their Shining Knight.
"I don't know if you're a big fan of training, but i'm always around for a quick spar. Never hesitate to ask."
Shizuka is the first to speak up, establishing himself to the new face and perhaps gauging just what kinda person this new addition would be. Then again, it was Shizuka, ever the hot head, eager to charge into combat, desperate to prove himself. It was up in the air if it was an attempt towards their Captain, his peers, or simply something he needed to prove to himself for himself.
“I'm ranked lower than you but don't underestimate me, I'm always ready for a match. Maybe we three can have group spar?”
Ryuga, one of their more seasoned members. He held a desire for combat that rivaled Shizuka’s. He too speaks out, ensuring to establish his position and strength to the one brought in after him only to be ranked over him.
Before they can proceed with the meeting Fuyuko steps through the borders of the door, clutched in her left hand is the shihakusho of Izanagi with him in it as she drags him along. The odd man appears even more odd with the swollen knot atop his head. From the annoyed expression on Fuyuko’s face, she was likely the culprit.
”You called for me Taichou?”
She asks, stepping further into the room, past all those present still dragging Izanagi along. It isn’t until she reaches the center to stand before her Captain that she releases her grasp on him.
”Oh, by the way.. I brought along the fresh meat, er...the OTHER, fresh meat.”
She turns and scans those present within the room. Shizuka, Ryuga, hmm that must be Gorou. She notes the position of each individual in the room as she makes her way to Taichou’s side, still fuming from her first interaction with Izanagi. It seems first impressions were poor.
She settles herself beside Taichou, while silently working to simmer her very visible annoyance.
