From Karakura Town ———————————— Southwest Seireitei
Lieutenant Fuyuko held the injured shinigami, using the entirety of her strength to support him. The male maintained consciousness despite his injuries, was it luck or simple strength of will? Regardless of circumstances, her mission had been an overall success. The young Lieutenant breathed a sigh of relief. There was no telling the demons that would haunt her should he had lost his life because of her negligence or inability to perform. She bit her lip, pushing aside the dark thoughts, as her nightmares sought to resurface, clawing at her confidence. Shaking her head her thoughts quickly found themselves now drifting back towards the chaos of the Seireitei.
The woman had no idea what had happened prior to her venture into the Senkaimon. Everything had happened so quickly; the shadowy emergence of the Onmitsukido, her speedy departure to rescue the Thirteenth Squad’s seated officer, there was little room to ponder, to speculate, to worry. Had there been a fight? Was this a Coup? If so, how long had they been planning this, while working alongside them as comrades. How many lies had been told? How deep did the deception run, and...for what cause? To what end?
Then there was her Captain. She was confident in her Taichou’s strength, but still...what if? Had anyone in the Division been harmed? Fuyuko turned her head towards the shinigami.
”Arashi-kun...I feel I must warn you to keep your guard up even as we return.” She paused, uncertain if she should continue, especially as she herself was still attempting to process it all.
”Before I left there was an….incident back in the Soul Society. I’m not certain exactly what is going on, or how bad it is right now...but be prepared for anything when we return.”
They continued to travel in the wake of the fluttering Hell Butterfly. She did her best to reassure the injured male.
”Regardless, we’ll be sure to get you safely to the Fourth Division so they can patch you right up, okay?” She nodded to him, smiling as they sped their way through the gates, the distant light marking their exit growing closer and brighter.
Picking up her pace best she could the two found themselves quickly expelled from the open doors of the Senkaimon. The Lieutenant studied her surroundings, the towering vines catching her eye in nearly every direction.
’These are…’ She thought. There was a massive barrier of sorts back towards the direction of the First Division. Just what was going on?
”Arashi-kun, will you be alright to make it on your own, or-” She asked, not wanting to come off as cold or uncaring. She understood Arashi was injured and needed medical help, yet she was also deeply concerned about the wellbeing of her Captain and her Division. She needed to find them, to find out what was going on, what had happened. She needed to make sure that everyone was ok, if not for their sakes then for her own peace of mind.
