Warily remaining in the entrance of the compound Kazumi could sense the woman moving about. Pressing her lips together tightly she wondered if she should even remain. The decision was made for her soon enough as her presence was noticed by the one surviving soul. It truly was nothing less than a complete massacre, the entire family gone in the blink of an eye. Though her fear of Kyomu had never wavered after her service under him she had forgotten what the man was truly capable of. So much time had passed since she had last witnessed the Phantom at work. Not having approached to bear the fearful sight herself yet she had felt each life be snuffed out in such quick succession from where she had hidden.
When Kazue spoke the name of a Kido skill Kazumi stiffened for a moment, preparing for a possible attack only to be greeted with the sight of the technique being used to help the frail looking woman with the dead that surrounded her. Relaxing her posture once more to show she meant no further harm. There would have been no hard feelings over the idea of the woman lashing out after such a horrifying event. Her own life ended in tragedy, however she had not experienced such loss to any degree as this soul had. A slight nod at the words spoken to her, unsure once more how to proceed or respond.
Eyes following the careful and loving motions taken to care for the fallen, in particular a red haired girl that was set in a bed of flowers. Clapping her hands together softly in prayer in front of her before bowing deeply. Time seemed to drag on as she remained in this position, showing as much respect for the dead that were unknown to her. As her head lifted she spoke, her words thoughtful and filled with concern.
"Is there any assistance I can offer you, ma'am?"
Her eyes rooted themselves near the feet of the woman out of respect. She knew little of the large houses within the Seireitei and had certainly never met someone of her status. It was unclear to her exactly how she should behave, leading her to follow the customs she knew. Both to show her acceptance of her status as well as not gawking at the bodies scattered about them.
She doubted the woman would want her aid, but she would offer it all the same. Taking care to remain where she was, not daring to tread further within without being allowed first. She would also not give her more offense by treading into her home uninvited after such a gruesome invasion had just ended. Pondering over what had been said as she also was fairly certain the woman would have nothing left to say to her about the exact events that had led up to that moment. What information she had given spoke volumes. There was no need to further probe her on the matters. The reasons for Honoka had being arrested would come to light soon enough. It was clear she had resisted in some manner, resulting in the Second Division Captain's actions. Such an act seemed excessive with the lack of dead or even injured members from the man's squad though this was pure speculation. How exactly he had felt threatened by her or how she had initially refused to comply was a mystery to her in the moment.

Waiting for his former sensei to make his move the tension is high and Takashi tries to locate him. Unaware of which direction he will attack from and everything is just like the second before a storm breaks out. Calm, quiet and still, yes that is exactly how Takashi would describe this second before Jibun appears in front of him. Just millimeters from touching his nose and when his eyes finally caught sight of him, all his muscles tensed to prepare for the blow which did not even happen. Completely unprepared and goalless, Takashi can do nothing but look forward to Jibun who could have finished this match in this second but luckily he did not. Takashi tries to get words out but his tongue has 'frozen' and not a word can be said from the young Kiyoshi. However, even though his voice could not come out, his body was still ready to fight even though Jibun-sensei had already moved away from him to retrieve his cane again.
“Never lose that resolve Takashi. Without it, you’ll be as good as dead. Apply it to everything you know.”
The words of Jibun-sensei were heard but Takashi could not answer him and could only watch as his former teacher walked back towards their home. Still with his muscles tense and surrounded by the fallen wall on the ground. Once Jibun has completely disappeared from Takashi's field of vision again, he stops having his muscles tense and takes a deep breath.
”Again I was spared by Jibun-sensei .. damn .. how far I have fallen. ''

Takashi stands quietly before leaning his head back and just looking straight up at the sky. The clouds slowly move across the sky without any problems or worries, completely free to do exactly what they want. A life that Takashi has begun to wish for but it is beyond his wildest dreams to achieve. His life is not his own since he joined gotei13 and he is now just a soldier among a thousand others. Takashi continues to look up at the clouds for just a few more seconds before tilting his head again. Moving one of his hands to the inside the top part of his uniform to pull out a white piece of fabric.
”It's time for me to go back and embrace my punishment with open arms.''
One last sentence Takashi says before raising his hand with the white cloth in and starting spinning the cloth that begins to spin around him for a few seconds before it tightens. Shortly afterwards, there is a flash and both the white piece of cloth and Takashi disappear from the scene. Sentan Hakuja

She wanted nothing more than to understand. There was no telling what to expect when she reported to the Commander. The man stood as the symbol of might and order within the Soul Society. In many ways, the fear and respect granted to him as the Commander of the Gotei Thirteen were somehow stronger than what Atsuko felt when thinking about Shobatsu Murasaki. There had not been much time to scope out the new Commander, but she was aware of him, his achievements, and his capabilities. What instilled the most fear in her was that of the unknown. She had no idea how he would react, which meant she could not gauge what actions he would take. In some ways, the difference between him and Shobatsu made her even wearier. The former Commander was not an open book by any means. However, one could assume that their punishment and duties assigned by him would be the worst possible. He was meticulous and cunning, all for the sake of the Seireitei. His methods were totalitarian, to say the least. While Higen held similar aspects, he was certainly not the same as his predecessor. He certainly had the same desire to keep order, but his methods varied. This much would be clear as the meeting went on.
“Thank you, Fall In.”
Failing to hide her surprise, the Ise Matriarch's eyes further with shock. It was not her place to question his words, but she couldn't help but find herself dumbfounded. To her, there appeared to be a distinct lack of concern. There was no doubt that Captain Asakura was a twisted individual, but to brush off his death in such a matter-of-fact manner was something she could not comprehend. Was the Commander not worried about the fact that two Captains had died within 100 years of one another? Yes, Captain Kojima's death was far less mysterious, but he was still a Captain, nonetheless. There had to be something going on. Gathering herself, Atsuko falls in line as she is commanded to do. Her eyes fail to stick to the Commander, plastering themselves on the floor instead. Peering at the wooden boards beneath her, her mind begins to wander. Every word uttered by Higen is filtered out to only pick up on the important details. Simultaneous with her deep thoughts on the situation at hand, she comes to a very small understanding of his actions. Hesitant to look up for fear of showing her shock and dismay, she falters for a second. As Higen nears the end of his speech, she has regained enough composure to look towards him.
“Lieutenant Ise, the moment the autopsy of the Captain’s remains is complete I want a report sent to Captain Nakamoto first, which he will then share with Head Lieutenant Kasumi based on his findings.”
Opening her mouth to answer, nothing comes out at first. Had she spoken at that moment, her tone would have been off. Clearing her throat, she manages to speak with clarity.
"Understood, Commander."
Nothing else needs to be said, at least not anything she could voice out loud.
As they are dismissed, Atsuko turns back for a brief moment to set her eyes upon the hall. A grimace now adorns her face as she turns back and continues her departure, her image fading from the scene.
Two Weeks Later
The Rukongai has been rather silent within the last two weeks. Crime has not gone up, instead, it has surprisingly gone down ever so slightly. Atsuko sighs as she looks towards the sky for a brief moment, reflecting on what had happened two weeks prior. Unsurprisingly, the situation still bugged her. For all intents and purposes, Itsuki's death had been brushed off. Her attachment to him was not as strong as she believed, unfortunately. Considering that he had been missing for years prior, finding him dead had unleashed a turbulent amount of emotions. In her heart, she always knew that his day would come. It simply happened sooner than expected. Given her childish outburst, she had to focus on relief effort to Kuroari, the rest of the Rukongai, and clearing the 7th's bad reputation that Captain Asakura had cultivated. Impurity had only festered because of the insane man's exploits. If she were to become Captain of the Seventh, she would need to work on much more than just her service to the Rukongai.

As it stood, she was lacking. This is not to say that she cannot hold her own in a fight, nor that she cannot go toe-to-toe with opponents that may be considered of a higher caliber than her. What this actually means is that the Lieutenant realizes that there are limits to what she can do when faced with an opponent whose skills are similar to hers, but they wield a functioning Zanpakuto. Unlike others, her Zanpakuto was no more than a blunt object unless certain conditions were met. With things going as they currently were, there was little chance she would be able to wield it. Instead of dwelling on this, Atsuko has decided to continue her training. She will not do this alone, however, as she has come to the conclusion that not including those of her Division in her training sessions does more harm than good. Allowing them to become lackluster or failing to prepare them for threats did little good for anyone. Just 20 feet in front of her stands Sanyu Komamura. He holds a weapon that may seem rather simple to those who know little about it. In reality, this weapon is a major threat given how versatile it is. With this knowledge in mind, Atsuko has brought him to an empty forest that resides miles away from and in between two districts within the Rukon.
Breathing in and then out, her Reiryoku begins to swell, but not in the typical way it would had she been casting a Kido spell. This feeling is fleeting, rigid, and dense. It goes in and out multiple times, as she is intentionally scratching just the surface of what she intends to do. Channeling this energy throughout her body is her main goal, yes, but she is simply preparing herself to take this next step. In the meantime, as an effort to psych out the 4th seat, she allows for her energy to pool as if she were casting a spell every other time it swells. The distinction is easy to make, as this other method is not as fleeting, nor uncontrolled. The Lieutenant has decided that she will push her limits during this training session while remaining entirely aware of their surroundings and everything that they couldn't perceive as well. At a moment's notice, she would halt their session in order to attend to more important matters if they came up. Putting her right foot forward while her left stays in position with her knee bent, Atsuko's right hand extends towards Sanyu with her palm open and thumb tucked. Her free hand remains by her left side, curled into a fist. Whatever stance this is, it is unlikely that her subordinate has seen it before. Is she intent on physically attacking, or will she construct something to do it instead? There is no telling currently.
Another breath is taken and the Lieutenant breaks her silence.
"Come, Sanyu. And don't hold back."

Two weeks ago
Kuroari was rather quiet, following the death of Itsuki Asakura. The clean up went as well as one would expect, seeing as Sanyu had the love and respect of the people in the Rukongai. The Komamura was possibly a valued asset to the Soul society as a result, a Shinigami that cared about the people they were meant to protect and provide help to. Not many answers had come from the rubble or the people, however, there were barely any, and even if someone knew it'd be hard for them to talk, out of fear and speculation that whatever did this, would come back. He didn't have much to report.
Two Weeks later
On his way to Atsuko's mentioned meeting spot, Sanyu stopped by Kuroari to see how the people were faring from the clean-up and recovery. Just like the southern districts that were attacked 100 years prior, children were running down the streets now, buildings were rebuilt, and the people were getting on with their daily lives. With or without Captain Asakura, the world still goes around.
"Sanyu-Sanyu!"
Sanyu wags his tail, hearing a group of children that called out to him, two grab a hold of his tail and swing onto it, the others fail an attempt to dog pile the massive Shinigami, but he chuckles and laughs anyway. The wolf-man shinigami is very gentle, as to not harm any of the delightful youth and future potential warriors of the Seireitei.
"How are my Kuroari Junior warriors?"
After hearing what the children wanted to tell him, and some disappointed looks, he waved them goodbye and headed for Atsuko's location.
Training begins
Atsuko was met at the eyes with a moment of silence, from the golden eyed Komumura. It was obvious he too was holding in a certain amount of concentration, as he removed his Shikaishou, his hair stood on end.
"Come, Sanyu. And don't hold back."
No holding back? Wonderful. A snarling smile and a flash of sharp canines, indicating the wolf inside of Sanyu was super excited to ensue combat with Atsuko Ise. As they are just getting started, he might not need his Zanpakuto, not wanting to rely heavily on it alone. Kami Taigun wouldn't like that one bit. He's not as fast as Atsuko, but he was physically strong, strong enough that when he raised his Reiatsu, and a flash of blue wrapped its way around him, he slams his fists joyfully into the ground, sending a shockwave of Rubble and blue reiatsu fused together toward Atsuko, and giving him the slight advantage of cloud cover to get closer to the Lieutenant. He comes from the front, anticipating Atsuko to move and dodge the rubble and initial shockwave. He listens intently on where she may go with his sensitive ears and awaits her next move.
